I feel like people reducing love to a mere feeling is the reason why so many relationships and moreso marriages fall apart. I agree with Amelia. It's born out of feelings, but when you commit to each other it becomes an active, everyday choice, not a passive feeling-driven verb.
If the feeling is strong enough you will work on it if it's only a choice, you can choose other things, without a feeling it's not a choice but a prison of society and other people not yours.

In most long-term relationships, there will be days where the "in love" feeling is not there, but despite that, you will continue to choose to love that person. & other days that feeling will rush back & give you little reminders/reassurance that your choice to LOVE that person remains the correct decision.
