I am Jewish, Sephardi (not Israeli), but I was working there for years. A coworker is Christian, Palestinian-Israeli, and from Jerusalem. We look like sisters. Same hair, same height, same skin color, same body type. Yet when we would go places in Jerusalem together, people would look at us, and turn to me and speak Hebrew and turn to her and speak Arabic. It even happened in Jericho at the shuk, which was both shocking and frightening (that someone in Area A would look at me and immediately speak Hebrew). It's because of the different way the two of us dress. I wear flat sandals and very casual clothing and no makeup. She wears platform shoes, makeup, and nicer clothing.

Not by facial apearence, skin tone, or other unchangeable features. Religious clothing like a kippah, tzitzit, or a hijab are clear indications, as are language and accent. One thing I've noticed though is how many Arab men have side-cut hairstyles with longer hair on top. Jewish men almost never have this style of haircut.

    • @samferrell7757
      @samferrell7757 Год назад +6

Maybe I'm misunderstanding the style you're describing but if you just mean very short hair on sides and back (fade or not) with longer hair on top then that is actually by far the most common hairstyle among Israeli men. Only very religious Israelis which are a small minority of israleis avoid those styles.

Lies and misinformation. As a non mizrahi jew i can tell whos arab and whos jew from arab countries, there are differences, the faces of arabs look more stereotypically Arabic, jews have larger foreheads , larger eyes, and their skin tone is usually lighter, if you don't look at yemeni jews, jews from morroco persia india and iraq are not as dark as the rest population, jews have much softer middle Eastern appearance than arabs, just like i can't say kurds are arabs, I can't say jews are

One thing that strongly distinguishes the Arabs is the clothes of famous luxury brands, girls and boys alike. When I see a group of people at the university wearing LV, Armani, Gucci, etc., I know for sure that they are Arabs. I have never seen Jews at the university dress like that, although I know people from very wealthy families. If there are, they are usually tourists/immigrants from the US or Russia.

    • @daves465
      @daves465 Год назад +25

This is more or less correct for the younger
generation. They will wear branded clothes and sunglasses, whereas the older generation not so much. It is not necessarily luxury brands, it can also be Adidas or Under Armour, but the logos will be very visible. I have also noticed that the Arab men prefer wearing mostly black clothes, and will rarely be seen wearing shorts, even in the summer. The women will wear more colorful outfits.
The Arab women, even the young and modern (that don't even wear a Hijab) will never wear clothes that are too revealing like shorts, short skirts, ripped jeans etc. Jewish secular girls on the other hand ... I wish they would be more modest, like Arab women. I wouldn't go so far as to say that I would like to see Jewish women covered head to toe, like religious Jewish women, just less slutty.

*arab israeli women are feminine, while jewish women are more masculine. Arab women dress more elegant, put on more make up and wear long jeans/pants in the summer, while jewish women dress more simply and casual, less/non make up, and wear shorts in the summer.
*if you see a man staring at women in the street, most likely he's an arab.
*arab men tend to have darker skin, mostly because many of them work in construction and manual labour, which makes them exposed to the sun all the time.
*there are almost no blonde arabs, it's extremely rare. If you see a blonde person, most likely they are jewish with russian/ukrainian origin.

  • @galshemer7519
    @galshemer7519 Год назад +5

Not inherently by their genetics, rather by thier style.
Religious people are the easiest to distinguish between (which is not surprising) because of the religious artifacts.
In terms of style it's quite easy to tell apart. Arab guys usually have high fade haircut with shiny hair-gels to keep the top up, thier beard is usually very thick and structured (if possible). They usually wear brands such as Lacoste and Pierre Cardin, preferably black t shirt made from tight fabric.
A lot of them use the same kind of perfume , and because smoking is so prevalent in Arab villages the smell of the perfume and the cigarette mixes, so you practically can smell them.
I work a lot in Arab villages, and even though that's not 100% true for every Israeli-arab, you can see that most of them follow this styling code.

As an Arab in Israel I can tell you yes we all recognize each other from 1 kilometer I mean it's not a secret I'm personally always can see who is arab and who is jew it's very easy to tell.
For example Mizrahi jews they all look very dark men and women and I can easily notice that but Arabs are all diverse so you can see all colors you can tell who is druze sometimes who's Muslim and Christian arab, you can also see blonde white Arabs with green or blue eyes and yet notice he or she Arabs even if they're white or blonde you even easily notice they're Arabs. on the other hand, Ashkenazi jew also look white but totally different from white Arabs but to mention, most Arabs are dark or brown but I notice them all the time.
Another example arab boys or men always wear jeans with boots but jews mostly wear sandals, slippers, shorts, and cuts in public or mall so you can tell the way they dressed also the way people walk, look, talk, and use hand gestures so I can tell you guys yes we all know and see the differences between each other and if they say they can't believe me they're lying 🤥

      Those are mixed,not Arabs.
Proper Arabs are Arabs from palestanin vilage or Yemeni. Arabs is very rear now in midle east country.
Arabs should start to think & preserving there heritage.
If they keep mixing with other race, soon or later Arabs will be minority or end of Arabs heritage.
Just go to Syria,Lebnon, Jordan. None of this country can not be called ARAB states. They are not ARABS at all. Arab population in this states are even less than 30% hence we still keep call Arab country.

Exactly. Assuming no giveaways in terms of obvious markers like kippah, peyot, keffiya or hijab, and without getting into accent, and everyone is dressed with standard Western causal clothing, like jeans and T-shirts, there are still clues like body language and demeanor that are strong indicators.
But lots of Westerners assume it's about skin color and the light-skinned blonde and blue-eyed person can be Arab and the darker-featured, olive-skinned person can be Jewish, even Ashkenazi Jewish.
And then there are secular Arabs like Lucy Aharish who speaks Hebrew with a perfect standard Israeli sabra accent (without the Mizrahi ח and ע) , because she grew up among Jews, and she doesn't wear hijab. She would easily pass as a secular Israeli Jewish woman if nobody knew her background. And there are older Mizrahim with a string Arabic accent in their Hebrew, some of them are even more comfortable speaking Arabic, although that generation is dying off. My late grandfather spoke Arabic as a first language, it was as good as hios Hebrew, his parents (my greatgrandparents) came from Syria, he grew up in the Old City of Jerusalem and Nahlaot and Musrarah and easily passed as Arab, even though he had dark red hair and was fair-skinned.

Anti-blackness is rooted from the Hatred of Sephardic Jews and Moors who had African physical features such as Dark skin, wooly hair and thick lips. When Europeans traveled around the world, they took their hatred of Jewish features and taught other people to hate that look Within their cultures. This is the origin of why there is Anti-blackness in every culture.
The truth is : "Negro" was the name of Sepharadic Jews in Spain and Portugal. It became illegal to call them Jews , so they renamed them Negroes. The Negroes were Expelled from Spain and Portugal to West and Central Africa. This became known as Negroland. The slave trade began and many Jews were sold to Europeans by Africans Moors to the Europeans in the transatlantic slave trade. Many African Americans are descendants of these Sephardic Jews and West African Jews from Negroland. The Hatred for the Jews physical appearance was taught to other people the Europeans came in contact with. For example Yemenites have a very distinct look and Palestinians/other jews don't look like that at all. It's similar with other Mizrahi jews, Persians look like Persians, Tunisians look Tunisian, Moroccans look Moroccan, not Palestinian. I think on average you can tell the difference but since many are so mixed on both sides you will inevitably come across Jews and Palestinians that will confuse you.

He says it is a place of eternal torment (Luke 16:23), of unquenchable fire (Mark 9:43), where the worm does not die (Mark 9:48), where people will gnash their teeth in anguish and regret (Matthew 13:42), and from which there is no return, even to warn loved ones (Luke 16:19-31). He calls hell a place of “outer darkness” (Matthew 25:30), comparing it to “Gehenna” (Matthew 10:28), which was a trash dump outside the walls of Jerusalem where rubbish was burned and maggots abounded. There’s no denying that Jesus knew, believed, and warned about the absolute reality of hell.
Charles Spurgeon paraphrased Ezekiel’s words (3:17-19) this way: “If sinners be damned, at least let them leap to hell over our bodies. If they will perish, let them perish with our arms about their knees. Let no one go there unwarned and unprayed for.”

On-sight identification of Jews or Arabs is mostly unnecessary, and if it were required it would have a very, very low reliability. Not my problem, I don't work in airport security and never will. We're all mongrels, all equally foul-smelling and cute-in-the-face. The conflict here was never about race, it's all religion and culture.
There are, however, a few phenotypes which are uniquely Arab, such as the short, stocky, often red-haired and somewhat swarthy Nile Delta roundface, or the much rarer Algerian bladeface. For Jews, it's a lot easier of course. I can distinguish a Slavic type from a kilometer in twilight, and a Yemenite woman by her shoe size. This all has to do with people's mysterious tendency to look like their parents...
As an aside, I love trying to guess people's nationality/ ethnicity by listening to their accents, and getting it wrong every time! Just my kind of entertainment!

    Some quirky observations:
The Arab family structure (especially in the West bank and Gaza) is very Patriarchal in nature. The father is the breadwinner, and the mother is usually at home.
Up to about 25-30 years ago, Arab women wouldn't own/drive a car. They would either take a bus, or rely on a man to drive them.
With the younger more modern generation, you see many women driving to work, and Arab fathers pushing the baby stroller. I even one time observed an Arab father carrying his baby strapped to his chest in one of those baby bjorn type baby carriers. I had to rub my eyes to make sure that I was not hallucinating. I thought to myself that us Jews are a bad influence on them, and next thing you know it they will be wearing an apron, cleaning the house.
One more way that Jews are influencing the younger generation is that have seen several occasions where the phone language/contacts in Arab person's phone was in Hebrew. There is even an Arab man that works in the supermarket in my town, that has a tattoo in Hebrew.

      @@YTFreePalestine Am I now?
I live beside Muslim Arabs. I interact with them daily. Some of my daughters teachers are Muslim women. Some nurses and doctors in the health care center in my town are from the neighboring Arab towns. When I renovated my house, one of the contractors that worked on my house (married his cousin in an arranged marriage), and all of his employees were from the west bank, one even from Gaza, and we would sit down and talk every day on our lunch break, on politics, life in general and family. Other contractors were Israeli Arab Muslims, and we would have long talks as well.
You can see Muslim women jogging/walking/exercising in my town, every evening, because if they were to exercise in their towns they would be harassed by young men (Shabab). You can also see Arab families in the parks in my town, even young couples that come and get wedding photos, because their municipalities are corrupt, and most of them do not pay municipality tax, so they do not have nice parks and sidewalks.
I greet all of the Arabs I interact with every time we meet, and wish them a "Ramadan Mubarak" on Ramadan, "Eid Saeid" on Eid Al Adcha and Eid Al Fiter.
So yes, I think I know what I am talking about.

I was talking about Muslim Arabs, not Christians.
I did not say anything about the PLO corruption, just local municipality corruption. I am not saying that my side is not corrupt, but in most cases we do not resort to violence. In the municipality elections in Arab towns HERE they will some time resort to violence. In most Arab towns here, there are usually 2-3 big families (Hamulot) and there is always a power struggle between them for who will run things in the towns. They will get funds from the government for education, infrastructure maintenance and health, and they would usually prefer to select family members when outsourcing jobs, so the quality of work done is never scrutinized.
Your mother may have had a good chuckle when you read my comment, but this is how things are.
Your mother may think that she is in charge of the house, but this is only because her husband allows her to think that.
I remember a few weeks ago talking to the Muslim cashier in my supermarket, after I saw that she was exhausted at the end of the day, and I told her that she only has about half an hour before she can go home to rest for the weekend. She laughed and said that her workday is only half through. She still has to go home and clean the house, do the laundry and cook the meals for the entire family.
Tell me something, if your mother is the boss of the home, did your father ever cook or clean? did he ever replace a dirty diaper? did he ever take you or you brothers/sisters clothes shopping?
I recall a joke one of the Arab contractors told me (translated from Arabic): If you did not cause your wife to get mad at you for an entire week, she will get angry at you for no reason, because this is the way she is designed in the Factory.

I have a great idea. Why not end Israel and Palestine and instead create a secular state in which both Arabs and Jews live as equals. Of course the one state idea can be implemented in other ways such as only having Israel or Palestine but that would not work because of the associations people have with those countries.

Have you watched Cory’s previous videos. Most Palestinians view EVERY Israeli as an occupier so that wouldn’t work - they want all Israelis removed. Why can’t there be a Jewish state (Israel)? The Palestinians rejected the UN partition and every peace offer, last in 2008. They are different societies.

Jordan illegally occupied the West Bank and Jerusalem from 1948-1967 and Egypt illegally occupied Gaza 1948-1967. Why didn’t they create a separate Palestine for their brothers? An independent Jewish state next door to an Arab state is too high of a price to pay and they refuse all peace offers. Jews need their own independent state, period.
