I was at the show and able to attend your presentation. It was great hearing about why you started this channel, and your adventures in producing the videos. Great job keep up the good work!
One of my greatest mistakes in stamp collecting is waiting till I retired to join the APS. I am 73 now and have been a member for only three years. The APS monthly journal publication just by itself is worth the cost of membership. But they provide a ton of additional good stuff. They have this wonderful place near Philadelphia which is the location of their library. Visiting this place would make a good episode for the series. The dragon stamps certainly have blazing color combinations. Thanks for showing us the wonder of the stamp show.
I'm portuguese but I live in France . Love going to Stamp shows , stamp fairs , meet the people , see new stamps ( that happens all the time ) . Unfortunetly I believe collectors are aging and the new generations don 't seem to apreciate anymore stamps . It's a shame because we can learn so much with this hobby about countries , their culture , their history and other things .
Some years ago I had my baby son and 3 year old daughter with me in a stampshow in Denmark, there was a large exhibition from Greenland, including a stuffed polar bear in a standing position and a man from Greenland performing a traditional drum dance/song, while many of the things were on stamps, but seeing the real stuff was most pleasing, for my daughter aswell, altho she was abit worried about the man with his song/dance "ondt i maven" pain in the stomach" was her response. but the polarbear stuffed and on stamps really did make a "wow" moment for her.
I'm a big fan of your videos, Graham, so I was chuffed when this one just appeared. It's looks like you had a great time at the Stamp Show, even delivering a talk on your RUclips videos! Holstein cows to the left, LOL! Keep up the good work and best wishes from the UK.
Enjoyed the video, twice. I watched it before I went to my first show NOJEX yesterday and watch it just now. Great primer for what is at a show. Really helped me! Thanks. Roger
Thank you Roger, I was also at NOJEX yesterday and was there to watch the first responders stamp ceremony, and do some shopping of course :) Glad the video helped to get a feel for the event. Thanks for watching!
Awesome presentation in this video! You did so much for this one and I really appreciate the effort. Makes me really happy to have found this hobby. haha
Great coverage of the show! Wish I could have been at your workshop. I've asked APS if they could post a video of your presentation. Go somewhere warm when it's sleeting at home and come to the Thailand World Stamp Expo in November 28 - December 3.
Awesome...much stamps in over there...but im only love Mother Queen Victoria 😍Stamps and Mother Queen Elizabeth II😍. WouwwW...making this video with a drone👍😊. Nice video.thanks brotha. Rgrds; ZLatan Zaccarta Indonesia.
The type of fun and popular content that your channel is presenting is what the philatelic community of dealers and stamp issuing agencies should have been doing decades ago. It is my belief that this community of businesses and agencies is a big part of why philately is today a ghost of what it used to be decades ago. They largely failed to inspire new and young collectors.
Thank you, I agree. I would like to see the businesses and agencies taking a more active role to this type of presentation of philately... There are so many more tools available to them to introduce the hobby to new and young collectors.
Stamp Fairs are attended for a variety of reasons, in my case, I enjoy meeting people and exchanging knowledge, for many though equipped with a "wants list" and a pocket full of cash, they are ripe for being ripped off, and there are many, many areas where this is possible, and that is why the collector should read, sadly the take up of literature is low, and only a few bother to look at the exhibits. They return home with their purchases, cash depleted, their knowledge not improved.
Have you ever considered putting an exhibit together base on your episodes? I envision a frame for each episode. It would be the highlight of any stamp show. You present an exhibit for each season.
that "1940's stamp" is not a real issue Nice to see Stamp Art dealer shown, A & D deserve that too. As the exhibit frame person in LA, exhibits are great to visit - don't worry if it goes over your head in just the first few pages, appreciate and absorb what you can (45 years in and many still bewilder me!) A show is a good place to learn about odd stamps you have or find elusive items. I always enjoy meeting other collectors or exhibitors and talking about collecting interests. I like to overhear others talking too, I learn even more...
I love how you made it on the news and were interviewed again! What was your presentation about? I saw your RUclips channel on in the back ground, were you talking about the new generation of philatelists? I love how specific some people are with their topical collections, Holstein cows facing left is such an interesting topic! Loved the little interviews you had with people at the show!
I collected GB 1840-1980 Average collection, basic specimens. I loved going to stamp fairs for two reasons. 1) To look to fill gaps in my collection within my small budget. 2) To get up close and personal to stamps i could never afford to complete the early years. Everyone has a personal favourite. I saved hard and finally acquired a fine example of the KGV 1929 £1 PUC commemorative. It cost me £400, a terrific amount of money at the time of purchase and nearly four times the price of my first second hand car such was my passion to own it! In my opinion one of the most beautiful designs of any postage stamp. A time when designs were created by craftsmen Not one of your photographic sticky labels of today that are constantly churned out to commemorate virtually any old event to part the collector from his hard earned cash. The genuine passion of the collector is now being exploited, as far as I'm concerned, purely for financial reasons.
Bonjour Je maîtrise pas l anglais mais je veux vous exprimer mes sentiments Je tiens de tout mon cœur à vous remercier pour tout le sens que vous donner à cette belle hobies J ai appris beaucoup de choses avec vous Merci mille fois

Enjoyed your snapshot of this Stamp Show. I couldn't make it since just returning from vacation, but it looked like a good time. I really wish I could have attended your presentation Graham. Was it recorded and if it was how about adding it to your RUclips channel? Also loved the video snippets of the show I found on your Instagram site that included the "better half" of your team. :-)
Glad you got to see the Instagram stories as well Gary, now you know that my "better half" has a collection of West Highland Terrier stamps, and is eager to get started on the Harry Potter collection ;).... We didnt record the full presentation, only a couple snippets for this video, also the lighting was pretty poor since I was using a projector.. so no video I'm afraid. Thanks for watching Gary!!

What an awesome video with great editing. Great job. Thanks for another great video
Glad you liked it, thank you for watching!! :)
A lot of the newer US stamps smear the red ink cancels like the additional ounce and white and red pear 10c stamp. Found great items at stamp shows.

LOVE IT. Cows facing left - feeling inspired.... xx
Thanks Suzanne! I also learned about a philatelist collecting bridges ONLY with trains on them... I think that is brilliant! :)

Excellent, really good to see the collector demographic in usa, way more diverse than here in uk.

Yep I was presenting on the origin of the exploring stamps channel and my thoughts on where social media can take the hobby. 🐄

Have to agree, took me years to get puc £1, but it's a great looking stamp!
Nice video mate.
Westpex in San Francisco is the last weekend in April. Just so you know.
ah I would love to go!
You can find the location of all up coming shows in every issue of the APS monthly. I am pretty positive that Graham is a member and knows about this.
- haha NICE intro!! :D
I was there !!
Where do I start at a stamp show?? Good question. My problem is I usually end up spending all my money at the first couple of booths.
😂🤣 I can relate!
Phil Boyd me too! 😣
Hello sir, I had Old India Postage Stamps.. best prices available to buy the stamps
So rare to see a person your age so passionate about philatelic. It’s great!

Hey Graham, may I ask what items did you get from there?
I got several classic sheets of stamps to use on outgoing mail. Also a few special stamps including a Graf Zeppelin and a Canadian Blue Nose stamp 🙂

where can i get one of those dragon stamp posters
Not sure, the one at 8:24 was part of the canvas that covered the castle and wasn't a separate poster, it would make a cool poster though :)
i bought the 18 x 14 off the postal site, but would like to have a 3 foot talk set of these. Too bad they dont seem to be making them @@ExploringStamps
Wish I was there :(
I had Old India Postage Stamps...
