I too just purchased some parts from awesome powder coat. On re assembly couldn't remember the order for 12volt generator backing plate. Looked everywhere. By coincidence landed here. Great info dude !

Hey man can you explain how the assembly might be different for a 6v system? I've got a early 60's engine with a 6v generator. I'm having trouble because the engine I have was all apart when I bought it.

thank you. I didn't know which way the slot went and the idiot's guide was no help, referring to some mysterious "notch" in the gen plate. So... you and the interweb to the rescue. Thanks again. -e
