@@zero-dv5cvlike another comment said, its a combination of factors from the anime production and promotion. The manga was so great, but obviously didnt have great things that you can have in anime such as good shot conposition, good soundtrack, good animation, and also a good pacing for maximum emotional impact. But there's also some lacking things in the manga, for instance I think every action scene is too static and lifeless, there really is no feeling of weight and speed in the manga art of the action scenes. Also they are very short, which isnt so much a problem, but the lengthened action scenes in the anime definitely helped its popularity too, and so well animated as well.
and then sometimes a tree branch falls nearby and it doesn't really hit you or anything but the snapping of the branch. the whistling of the leaves. the dull, empty thud it leaves behind. it makes you ache, y'know?
Idk what this is but the song quite literally extracts the emotional essence and amplifies it 10 fold and it hits me like a damn moose, I feel obligated to watch this show now
Man this made me cry Watching frieren feels like coming back to your hometown after a long time and feeling sad because you miss the old times Yet happy that you got to experience them
The song choice is so fitting. To Frieren, her life span is so long that everything and everyone is temporary to her. They come and go. The one thing that'll always stay the same is the moon. The moon is the only thing that'll remain, long after she also inevitably dies.
Her new companions make time slow down for her and sometimes even make her recognise *their* time, and to value it while it’s there so she doesn’t take it for granted like she did with the original heroes.
most edits about sousou no frieren are fights / pseudo romance. It's nice to see this type of AMV you really make us understand what's different about this anime
I know, some people already pointed this out: The painful thing about immortality is that time goes on for everything and everyone except you. Not only your friends and family die, but also memories, impotant objects and emotions. Everything is constantly changing and aging, but you. And when you start ignoring your feelings and dreams and friends, time won't matter to you anymore. And when you don't live with time in mind, don't care to remember the world around you, you've died from the inside. And that's the problem with eternal life. Some day you will definitely die, psychologically or physiologically.

There's something so beautiful and nostalgic about frieren, they give that feeling of their journey so well, and you start at the end of the story. It's just such a beautifully made show.
Immortality is like a never ending repetition of time. It can be considered a blessing as u are able to achieve things which no human can. But it is mostly a curse
@jeffy225 The blessing is that you don't have to worry about the uncertainty of death and get to witness world changing events unfold as they happen. You also have all the power to learn skills, and pioneer a field of research, maybe find the real meaning of life. There are infinite possibilities, well, infinite as far as you mind can go. Although, the downsides far outweigh the upsides, unless you're insane, or had a freaking labotomy so you don't have feelings.

However, as you grow older mentally, you watch your loved ones, the pepole you care abaout, the things you loved being slowly wiped out of existance. You however are forced to wander these worlds for hundreds of years, suffering emotionally and physically untill after milions and millions of years you wonder: *_Was it really worth it?_*
Watching Frieren makes me feel grateful about life and respects my time. That's why we have death, you could die anytime (maybe tomorrow, next week, or even in the near future), this anime reminds me how short a human life is. So, we have to make every day count and live without regret. Without death, we wouldn't realize how much valuable our time is. Overall, this is a great anime and you should watch it.
I told a friend about frieren he tried it and said it's too boring. How can someone be so emotionally unavailable to not enjoy this masterpiece... Maybe people with ADHD aren't able to enjoy it, who knows
This short, but quite heartwarming, video made me feel a lot of emotions, much like watching Friren, only all of those emotions were felt in a couple minutes rather than several hours of watching the anime itself.

Frieren is probably the fastest anime to become a classic I’ve seen
I was waiting for it to come out hoping that people grant it such
the manga was fairly small comparing what the anime has become
The vibe (idk how else to explain it) is unmatched
"become" implies that there was a time when it wasn't a classic
