Beating on that clutch looks like it could break some expensive clutch parts or maybe even damage the bearing or seal. Maybe I'm paranoid but I think I'll order the special 3 prong service tool and use an impact. Do you know if manufacturers use Lok Tite on these parts? Do you think it would have been easier with a little heat surrounding the shaft? Thanks for the video.
@@cottydry Theoretically, it requires a key with 3 claws, practically it works well with 2. And above all, it is preferable to use a key than to hit a brittle cast steel with a hammer. Repairing this clutch if it breaks costs $1, but the Echo costs more (for example).

Me 2 bro my rope got stuck in the cylinder
@@Darisumer5394 I figured out to just push down or hammer down the cylinder to loosen the rope
Why do clutch has to be changed?..I see the old one good condition...Just wanted to know...
When using it was very easy to stop the chain in the tree
Good job man
Thank you 👍👍
With an angle grinder wrench it would work faster and better.
Never tried that
@@dmgladden You must try this method it works so much better than a hammer & cold chisel.
Angle grinder wrenches are 2 prong. This clutch design needs a 3 prong tool.

@@dmgladden stoked that you replied! Terra trencher or geo ripper.
@@tomtam558 Hi Tom I try to always reply, now your just adding to my ignorance what is that I don't understand a word lol sorry
@@dmgladden lol! Those are brands of hand chainsaws that can dig a ditch.
@@tomtam558 so what would be a "Diy trencher" ?
is that a universal clutch?
All I know is it's the same as was in mine
Its not coming off so easy as you were insinuating at first
Maybe you should have used the cold chisel like you said and not pin punches
Better use impact wrench
i know not to throw the chain saw then it stop run due the clutch cheers
