I know it's old, but if you are close to the coast, that copper anitseeve will work oppo in the salt air. It will make things worse. The gray or nickel is better all around.

Cummins guy myself but i doubt you’ll find a Cummins guy that won’t admit the 7.3 is a legend itself. Really cool stuff in your build . I had no idea they made that style of turbo mount for the power stroke . I’m excited to see it plumbed up like that instead of at an angle from the factory .

Its a HUGE step in a different direction for us 7.3 guys, opens up the playing field for us. There are some seriously badass 7.3s out there!

I have friends who are die hard Cummins guys, but I love my 7.3 that makes more power than the 12v 5.9 does stock.
People like to crap on the Powerstroke’s but the 7.3 is a legend of itself.
My montra is keep it stock & it’ll last a long time. If you up the power don’t be ridiculous & blow up the block. Maybe double the hp if plenty. Any more get a crate motor so you don’t ruin a perfectly good 7.3 by making a hole in the block.
People who by these things also want a long lasting truck. I like a little extra power, but not to where it’s ridiculous.

    • @michaelbenoit248
      @michaelbenoit248 4 года назад +1

The 7.3 Garage, I was @ the gas satation & I saw a truck next to me that had maybe 5-600hp 7.3. It was pretty cool, but if you want power go for a new truck & blow them up cuz they still make them.
Once you up the power it takes a bit out of the longevity of the motor.

In case anyone doesn’t have vacuum pump setup.. 1/4” plastic fridge ice maker/water line and a large plastic syringe work great for clearing oil out of cylinders. It’s actually pretty handy setup to just have around garage, I use it more often than you’d think. (Can find syringes on Amazon, they’re used for glue/crafts or gardening. And make sure the 1/4” line is the rigid type, not the soft tubing)

Brandon, I have been watching a lot of your videos. Some 2 and 3 times. I think they are some of the very bet on the tube for sure. Your is a OBS heat breaker ...OMG do I love it. Though u to this point I have never had a diesel anything but have wanted one for many years. After watching your build and other videos I got inspired to go look for a truck. I have a gas 150 but I wanted a OBS diesel 250.Finally I found one I could afford single cab blue ( love blue but the color just turned out that way by chance) 1994. Seems to run strong as hell. 210K on it, and was told it just had new injectors and fuel lines ...transmission and brake booster. I didn't realize it at the time, being so unfamiliar with diesels that mine looks different from any other one I've ever seen. The fuel filter was moved from the valley and relocated on the passengers side of the engine. Have never seen that before. Even the big silver vacuum pump that on others is located on the drivers side in now on top in the front. I am confused. he Ac needs work so an going to send it out to be repaired., and then will ask more about the other things I'm not familiar with. Your new build seeing how you were so meticulous and precise on everything was a dream to watch. That's right...sometimes you have no idea how you influence others when you do such admirable work. I'm up in Jacksonville and would love to some day meet you, and learn more of what you have done to your rig. might even pay you as a consultant. It would sure be worth it. You are an encyclopedia of knowledge and a great inspiration to me. Really enjoyed your chip video. It was awesome. Thanks so much for producing these great videos. You kidded once about your OCD...but let me tell you, in cases like this it has really paid off. Thanks again Brandon for sharing so much with your fans

The bellows on the down pipes aren't for flexing, they're for expansion and contraction. You will probably break them if you try and flex them. I've had hundreds come through the shop with exhaust leaks from people who tried to flex them into place and ended up with a very expensive exhaust leak.

What was the final bore diameter?
    .030 or .060 over?
What pistons and rods did you use?
    Cam lift and duration?
    Stock roller lifters?
Are the valves stock or did you go with over sized valves?
    Valve guides?
    Springs, after market?
    I missed all these details?
