Also for Future reference when you go to those dollar car washes. You don't want to scrub your wheels and the body with the same brush. If there's no option and there's only one brush, do your rims last. Also, run the pressure washer through the brush. Before you use it, you don't know what the person before you are the person before that washed with that brush. And it could be stuck in that brush. You could pick up dirt, grime rocks from the wheels and rub. The body scratch the s*** out of it, so always clean the brush. First, do the rams last.

The first thing to do (after you get it running) is ditch that stupid fan set up and get a nice duel electric. You say this came stock with that motor? News to me but very cool.

This is a good reference video for how NOT to v8 swap one of these trucks. I feel sooo bad for this poor thing. It needs to be torn down and done right by someone who knows what they’re doing.

A lot of things were done wrong, but it could have been much worse. At least it's not an effin LS. There is nothing I hate worse than an LS. So many classic cars have been ruined by those things. I have a 1993 S-10 that I did a V8 swap in. It has a real Chevy engine in it (other than the fact that almost nothing but the block is actually GM) Carbureted 383ci, Muncie 4 speed "rock crusher", Ford 8.8 Trac-Loc rear axle. No A/C so I was able to relocate the radiator far enough forward to use the actual belt driven fan. Surprisingly enough, I used stock GM exhaust manifolds. Headers will not fit a V8 in an S-10 without a lot of butchering. I was not building a race truck. NO serpentine belt. No power steering. It has 225/70-14 front tires on 14x6 wheels, 275/60-15 rear tires on 15x8 wheels, has NOT been lowered. Bench seat, full aftermarket gauges. NO computer.
Probably the biggest mistake anyone can make when V8 swapping an S-10 (besides using an LS) is screwing up the engine mounts. You can seriously damage the frame if you don't do it right, and many do. The parts are available to do it right. This is NOT a place to cut corners and get in a hurry. It is a time consuming job if done right.

@@geraldscott4302 Sheesh.. I wish people would quit spreading around bs with these trucks. Headers fit. I’ve used a few different brands. No issues. 2.5 and 3” full exhaust. I’ve done sbc AND lsx swaps. Funny I didn’t see a FoMoCo casting on the LSx blocks but anywho moving on with the clown show.. I’ve kept ac and power steering because.. well… street car daily driver stuff.. I despise people who hack these trucks up and remove everything because they don’t want to do it right! They just wanna be cheap and reuse some junk they’ve had collecting dust since 1970 that they claim was a bad ass corvette 350 with a 3/4 race cam 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. I’ve done carbs and efi.. neither had issues but again I wasn’t cheap. I’m currently building another one.. sorting the chassis now. Some one HACKED it before I got ahold of it and I’m having to unfuck everything done. Ac hacked up, wiring hacks, broken bolts everywhere.. Moral of my novel… Don’t be a cheap ass and don’t spread BS information to people!

I bought one of those from Polar Chevrolet in White Bear Lake. They had a couple engine options, the 4.3 and samller v6, 2.8 maybe? Anyway they had a look to them but no go power.

For future reference, you should let it come up to temperature on its own. Let it reset those rings and let the oil work into the hydraulic lifters before you do anything else.

Can't believe you'd use ether on it instead of gasoline ehter is for diesel motors unless you don't like or are angry at your engine for some reason ? Especially on a start like that where you didn't even disconnect the spark and or not put any fuel or other substances in it and let it prime the oiling system by cranking it for 45 seconds to a minute or so before adding spark or fuel it's a gorgeous truck bro and has to be worth something for real it sounds great too but take care of it and don't destroy it so it stays worth something nice truck

The fogs lights have a weird disconnect where they wont power on while your interior lights are also on, so they shut off when your door is open and will go back on when you close it.
