That's why I bought the vintage 77 from that pawn shop. They are heirloom quality tools that will last multiple lifetimes when taken care of. I started buying Milwaukee when I saw a video about how much torque the 3/8" impact had. I didn't want to have to rely on my air gun all the time or drag the air hose out every time I had to take the lugnuts off my vehicles. Then I bought the M18 Milwaukee Worm Drive saw based on your review. It is a beast. Thanks for your videos.
Happy Sunday Vince and everybody. One of the best TTRS’ES ever!!! Loved watching the condensed version. Would love to see the Skilsaw go up against the DEWALT flexvolt in a future episode.

Lefty, looking at the Flex FX2141D. There offering a life time warranty, if you buy before December 31,2022. I had questions and customer service was excellent .
I think a left blade saw is actually easier for right handed people to use in certain applications. In that sense it's nice manufacturers realize that and put them out in the 7 1/4" size. You can get them with the blade either side. Being a lefty it's frustrating I can't get a 6 1/2" right blade. Blade close is easier for shorter cuts. Something light and handy for 2x4. Opposite blade(conventional) for ripping.
I am predominantly left handed, and I can use saws with the blade on the left or right side of the shoe. However, most people don't realize that you can actually see the blade/cut line from both sides of a typical circular saw. They are made that way.
@@jmackinjersey1 I'm a leftie and can cut either way, but in truth, we can do more right-handed things than right-handers can do left sided. I wanna see Skil's "Southpaw" go up against their HD77. The original idea of the blade being on the right side was that it was safer. The blade comes off the arbor spinning in reverse. At that point, if it comes off on the left side. It will stick in your gut and cut you open right in the nuts. I have only had that happen one time and the blade went past my leg but it can happen. left hand blade for left handed people. Right handed for right handed people.

Vince and crew - this is a great video. I love the fast test cuts you do as these are more like the real world than the controlled, planned cuts in some videos. I'm new to woodworking and I've been trying to decide if I should buy a table saw or a good circular saw. I do have a small Worx 4.5", but it has its limits. I borrowed a sidewinder circular saw from a friend and so far I'm not impressed with how it does straight rip and crosscut. It just seems off balance. I think this is one of the points you were making about the Skilsaw here. Also, go Iggles!!

People are generaal pretty ignorant about the mechanics and dynamics of circular saws. It is not about power and balance. It is about stability. Sidewinder saws should have a top handle to push down while cutting. If you do not push down, gyroscopic forces on the motor will turn the blade of track. This is mitigated somewhat in battery powered saws because the motor inertia is relatively small. But it is still an issue. Wormdrives rotate the motor so the gyroscopic forces remain inline with the cut. A carpenter with wormdrive can tell you that when pushing hard from behind the saw always tracks straight. Sidewinder you are asking for kickback when doing that.

@@mediumgrey1947 Thank you for the feed back . I’ll do my diligence. In the past I’ve always used cord left side. Most of my tools are DEWALT older models. I like Milwaukee tools too. My key focus on most tools I own is the battery, interchange them. On choosing a Circular saw the big factor visibility because I’m left handed. I don’t do a lot of cutting but most of the time I use a straight edge because I don’t trust my right hand on the saw for a straight cut. Again thank you..
I would have to go with the Milwaukee circular saw just because that's the battery platform I'm on and that's the only brand of tools I purchase Plus I know how good Milwaukee makes their tools so it would definitely be able to do its job just fine
Worm drive saws are just becoming available over here, so years ago I imported an vintage black and decker worm drive from toledo to Ireland. It is bomb proof, no plastic like all the new models.
I sure would like the cordless version from the creators of the circ saw!!! I'm juuuuust not quite there yet. Great job guys! I appreciate all the time, expenses, and effort that goes into each and every TTR. Thank you, stay safe, and God bless #theverycoolgang!😁👍
I will NEVER understand why Skill had to be left blade? Why don't they make left AND right blade? I've heard there is such an animal, but never been able to find it. Worm drive is the best, but being right handed, like most people, I believe it's obvious right is right!
the skil cordless is so obnoxiously long in person. And if you're cutting on your foot it doesn't wanna fall into the cut like a traditional skilsaw or other cordless saws it's too back heavy. And if you're cutting up or down at an awkward angle that 3 extra pounds, you're gonna feel it
But... if you have M18 tools, the limitations of this M18 saw are worth having 1 battery type. Especially if you have a Hackzall or the M18 impact wrench because it's the GOAT.
Skill saw is definitely the better circular saw out of the two so either I'll have to buy he courted skill saw or go with the Milwaukee because I save money on batteries but if I had to pick one for free then I would go with the skill saw
That's my only complaint. The tests were so inconsistent its hard to really call it a true comparison. Interesting watch though considering I'm literally just discovering the gold mine that is the skilsaw
I'm glad you pointed that out. I'd be inclined to give Milwaukee the advantage on many of those points but I'm not operating the saw either. Granted the tests were inconsistent but I think I'd probably go for the Milwaukee, personally. Especially considering the batteries are probably cheaper and the obvious point of having other tools which all use the same battery. I'm already started on dewalt 20v for now but I've just picked up my first 60v impact. Its a beast

@@davygarcia363 I prefer the blade left design so I can see it and get covered in saw dust. I have the milwaukee 2631-20. However knowing what I know now I would get 1. Makita GSH02Z 2.Dewalt DCS578B 3.Makita XSH01
Makita smooth soft start motors. Dewalt powerhouse. Milwaukee most $ and their circular saws specifically are nice but a step behind other brands
It is bomb proof, no plastic like all the new models.
eBay and Facebook Marketplace have old and new worm gear Skil Saws. The cheapest Skil worm gear oil is at Amazon.
Feel like this is an infomercial now with the voiceovers
I sure would like the cordless version from the creators of the circ saw!!! I'm juuuuust not quite there yet. Great job guys! I appreciate all the time, expenses, and effort that goes into each and every TTR. Thank you, stay safe, and God bless #theverycoolgang!😁👍
🍻🍺
I will NEVER understand why Skill had to be left blade? Why don't they make left AND right blade? I've heard there is such an animal, but never been able to find it. Worm drive is the best, but being right handed, like most people, I believe it's obvious right is right!
Skeeter has quick stops at 22.5 ° , 45° and 53 °
the skil cordless is so obnoxiously long in person. And if you're cutting on your foot it doesn't wanna fall into the cut like a traditional skilsaw or other cordless saws it's too back heavy. And if you're cutting up or down at an awkward angle that 3 extra pounds, you're gonna feel it
Why don’t you put it against the Dewalt Dcs577.
bring it down to the den for TTR
kingofthecrease30 I will just need the address
kingofthecrease30 So you won’t give me the address? Scared
There you go try Milwaukee and skill saw against some red oak for your fine wood work people out there.
Just bought me the skill saw cordless and got a free battery!!
That's an awesome score Joey!!
Put Skilsaw vs DeWalt Worrm Drive 60v and vs Makita 2x18v, please.....
But... if you have M18 tools, the limitations of this M18 saw are worth having 1 battery type. Especially if you have a Hackzall or the M18 impact wrench because it's the GOAT.
Milwaukee's rocks
Skill saw is definitely the better circular saw out of the two so either I'll have to buy he courted skill saw or go with the Milwaukee because I save money on batteries but if I had to pick one for free then I would go with the skill saw
Get the corded Skil Mag 77. It's lighter than the original and just as powerful.
It's not exactly fair to put a 48v saw up against an 18v saw is it??
It’s apple to oranges not even in the same battery voltage class ....had it been either way the outcome would have been legit!!😎👍🏼
Would you have not been better to set up a fence for them cuts. Would have stopped them twists stopping the saw.
Just saying.
That's my only complaint. The tests were so inconsistent its hard to really call it a true comparison. Interesting watch though considering I'm literally just discovering the gold mine that is the skilsaw
Awesome
Can you do a tool review at menards
Milwaukee ALL DAY! 48v vs 18v. More then double the power and the Milwaukee is still keeping up!
Its a beast
I can attest to these results I love my TRUEHVL skilsaw its amazing I don't own the Milwaukee though @vcgconstruction
I also like the Skil but they lack in so many other tools, that it is hard to justify buying the saw and battery/charger for one tool.
@@valrossi9565 Skil is the Consumer Brand Skilsaw is the construction brand and i understand your hesitation but they are coming out with other tools for this battery platform problem is covid and all the crap going on
@@AntonioClaudioMichael I understand the branding situation, but it is still the same parent company Chevron LTD, (just like TTI/S B&D), same lack of cordless tools. Yes, they just came out with SawSquach, as their newest addition. Everything new from them is "Worm Drive" and corded. Does the world need a wd table saw? Possibly, if you are constantly cutting hard wood. But the general trades have been doing quite well with what is already on the market. Aluminum and Magnesium housings? Not really all that necessary, especially for the price. Covid aside, I don't see them being able to catch up with the pro or even prosumer market. But they do make a great worm drive saw, don't get me wrong. I just don't see them being as big as the others in the cordless arena. Let them stick to what they know best.
@@valrossi9565 you have a ton of great points couldn't of said it better myself I agree with you well said
I want the 10 in M18 miter saw
Man the 7 1/4 is a BEAST, yet very compact and portable
first
Don't like the wormdrive style saws why can't they just make a sidewinder blade left I own a corded porter cable blade left sidewinder just make it cordless
Yeah I bought one of those 20 years ago,it stays inside,I love that saw,so much I bought one used on eBay like a year ago ,but I also I have 6 1/² inch Skill wormdrive for everything else .I think if one of those two saws died ,I would have a funeral because they both have been like really good friends to me
I gotta have the M18! I'ma Milwaukaholic!
Smash that like button
Five
Worm drive “style” is not a worm drive. Worm drive gears provide more torque, also worm gears naturally brake. This is only a comparison in looks.
Skil saw is for pros. Milwaukee is for home diy ers
It’s mathematically impossible to have the deepest 90° cut snd then have a shallower 45° if all things are equal. Makes me think you measured wrong BUT no one gives a shit at 1/16” of an inch so it doesn’t matter I guess.
Run skill vs rear handle dreslt
Not a expert like you so I'm a little more on the safe side.
Isn't holding the hand down bye the blade as you cut a little unsafe not trying to say you haven't been doing what you been doing for along time or you don't know what you're doing.
I look at it this way a lot of first time DIY doers come to You Tube to find the best ways to do thing's then they stumble across you're Chanel see you fast cutting timber then go to try it you're way not knowing how to truly handle a saw or hand placement like you do and end up in Hospital.
I know one thing I was cringing thinking you might just have slipped up once then Hospital time.
They pay people Millions of dollars for the what if Question billions go out to insurance companies and you know they love that so with all that said.
I do love you're channel learned a bunch and thank you for that I'm just trying to watch out for those not so handy as you or others might be.
How is this video supposed to show left worm drive saws are better than right sidewinders? All you did was test two worm drive saws.
Skillsaw vs dewalt dcs577 test?
