Another problem that wasn't highlighted is that the battery-powered saw was struggling, but the corded one wasn't. This leads me to wonder if the host was really pushing the corded saw as hard as he was pushing the battery-powered saw.
Did both saws have the exact same make of blade, brand new for both? At 4:58 the corded saw can be seen to have used the blade so much that all the markings have worn off it.
Dang 4lb battery is a bit heavy... Hmm.. wondering if the other 18v options would be a better choice weight wise? Does DeWalt or Makita make a Cordless worm drive in the 18v line?
I can work all day with my Makita 18v saw. Cordless is most definitely the future but for now there’s still a few heavy tools I prefer corded but in ten years I bet I’ll think different. This new battery Skilsaw is definitely a game changer.
Would like to see if you can stall this thing out with serious speed and pressure in some 3” material. Also battery life and charge time against other worm drive styles, whether or not this worm drive still requires oil, bevel cuts, angled cuts without holding guard back, plunge cuts, how well the dust port can shoot dust downward and away like you talked about, and balance seeing as it looks like the only worm drive with the battery underneath and behind. Also when is this going to be released? And thanks for the video Vince, I think you’re the first to release a review video for this saw so you’re the man.
Even though blades probably had something to do with the slower times, it's still a very impressive tool. It sounded like it took more time to reach peak rpm but it didn't big down as much while cutting
What’s the cost difference between the 3 .. if the skill can perform equal to or 5-10% less and SKIL costs being 20-30% less than them .. then yes I’ll get the skil
@@cisco5036 yeah that's what I thought. We use the Milwaukee platform so when I saw this I was hopeful at saving alittle. But it's hard to toss over $600 on a single tool battery platform when I can spend $450 and get a Milwaukee with battery and have my other batteries to back it up.
How’s the feel of the weight of the cordless compared to the corded saw? Seems like the cordless saw might weigh more in the back due to the battery. Thanks.
Love the chute in handle ( HATE THE DUST SYSTEM ON DEWALT) hey does the base drop when fully unlocked for plunge cutting or does it get hung up like the corded version has for 20+ yrs
I would like to see a speed comparison with each having a new, and same brand blade. The corded Mag77, has a used blade on it. May not be as sharp or high quality. Great video!! Awesome new saw!
Vince where did u find the kit with 2 batts? And how much? When i search same product # the kit shows the saw, charger, diablo blade, and only one 5a battery.... for $429.99 via amazon whats the deal with that? Need that extra batt ya know
Awesome video!! I have a slight feeling that putting that same new Diablo on the corded would have helped alot. My skilsaw blade didn't seem to cut as fast as my Diablos.
I usually only bust out my skil worm drive when I cut stair stringers or decks. When Milwaukee unveiled the rear handle sidewinder I got excited. But this skil worm drive cordless has me really excited! I just wish the two battery option wasn't so expensive at $600.
Wow, very impressive how they keep this cordlees worm drive to look like their corded one. This looks way better then any of the cordless skilsaw on the market. My question is how does it feel with the battery on the back handle? Cool feature with the dust extraction (Handle). Looks like a great Christmas gift to myself, LOL.... Vince , Thank You for this video.
Battery powered Vince. Battery powered pellet smoker. Battery powered air hammer (without the air). Would like to see a TTR this saw vs new rear handle Milwaukee or x2 Makita, and the DeWalt.
Nice. Would like to buy the cordless skilsaw but ever since Bosch sold Skil to Chervon, they stopped importing Skil tools over here. I have never had any problems with my corded sidewinder skilsaw, and I bought the cheapest model available then. 5 years on and it's still working beautifully. Replaced the brushes 3 times, re-greased the bearings once and other than that it didn't require any other parts or maintenance. If they ever decide to sell the cordless wormdrive skilsaw here I'll be the first in line to buy one. Nice video Vince,👍👍👍 thanks
Yo Vince, Phillys a madhouse right now hope you’re staying healthy... Our last worm drive skilsaw is on its way out, In your opinion what’s the latest battery powered rear handle you’d chose for a busy construction crew ;) ?? Adam from Phoenixville
How much $$$? Just ordered the corded version but I'm very occasional diy er. I have the EGO 56v lawn tools with 2.5, 5 and 7.5 amp batteries. The power is insane .. runs my lawnmower like a gas and fast charger never really run out of power. If I was a pro this would probably make sense.Glad to see batteries getting so good but I'm looking to make my corded last the rest of my life basically. Love your high energy reviews.
Ttr. Corded vs cordless. Can’t put skil vs any other brand because the others are worm style saws. So it wouldn’t be fair. I think if you made a four different cut station test you’d be doing good.
batteries can give much more power then a normal wallplug.. a normal power outlet where i live is around 225V 16A = 3600W. so if one wanted more power then one would need an electrician to add a bigger wire in your house.. nothing is preventing anyone from pulling 7 000w peak power out of a battery, anywhere =)
Vince my brotha, this is the one I've been waiting for ,I don't care I'm on Milwaukee's platform already,I'm still on PCs 14.4 platform on 3 screwgrews still too,and Paslide too, what's one more, this is awesome.
U should cut a stair stringer with each saw in an lvl and see which does a better job, also do 45% cuts with a 45% bevel across 2x12 to see which does it faster and without bogging down
The Makita 36v is my favorite and I have the Flexvolt. There are slight differences in the Flexvolt and Makita. The Flexvolt has more torque for bog down prevention and the Makita more rippems (RPMs). The way the Makita wins is by more runtime and faster cuts. The Flexvolt wins in situations with knotty wood and nail embedded lumber. The Makita is fine for the trade carpenter who wants precision and speed.
I see now they finally have a battery model. I already got M18 wormdrive. I think they sound similar. I also see if fits in middle packout with supersawzal 2x M18 12 AH and 2x 6AH. I think I see more metal on the skilsaw which I think is better. I am wondering about heat on the black plastic I see on the milwaukee. I haven't had a chance to use it yet little hot here in turn tired.
That dust port was shooting a rooster tail! Surely with a good vacuum system dust control would be great for close quarter or temp construction shop setup. Nice
NKS 2 I believe it’s $400 for the kit with one battery and $600 for the kit with 2 batteries. $250 for a battery by itself. Hopefully we will see a price drop for Black Friday or Christmas sales??? If so merry Christmas too me :) haha
My legend 11 amp skill saw is part of the family I do like the left hand worm drive better but the old dawg will never die I believe it’s older than most of your subscribers . My dad bought for me when I was 15 and I’m 43 the oldest power tool i currently own and it never fails and never bogs .
Cool machine!!The battery pack is as large as the packs for my electric mower!Be funny to run this saw from the “house 48v battery” at work.Don’t know the capacity of those huge gel cells.Just a funky thought.Like the rip tests-human sawmills! This has to be the most powerful saw out there! Is this for sale. In the wild?
I have used the corded worm drive over 30 years in the beginning they weighed close to 25 pounds Maybe that's why my upper arm is : inches with a Gorilla grip , im concerned about the watts corded 1800 what's , battery 240 ?
Time for circular saw showdown! Makita, Milwaukee, Dewalt, Skilsaw.
I agree
Just what I was thinking
Bump
And Hilti
Check out awesome framers on insta he will be doing one soon
Why not give both saw fresh new blades to make it a fair test?
Pretty much, bullshit if you don't use the same blades on both saws.
at 4:58 we can see the corded saw has a blade that is definitely used enough to wear the paint off it.
Another problem that wasn't highlighted is that the battery-powered saw was struggling, but the corded one wasn't. This leads me to wonder if the host was really pushing the corded saw as hard as he was pushing the battery-powered saw.
Wow ,very impressed. Unfortunately im not looking for another battery platform
Did both saws have the exact same make of blade, brand new for both? At 4:58 the corded saw can be seen to have used the blade so much that all the markings have worn off it.
Hilti makes a 36v cordless worn drive saw that is built more rugged , Hilti does not compromise on materials or Craftmanship as do other companys
Dang 4lb battery is a bit heavy... Hmm.. wondering if the other 18v options would be a better choice weight wise? Does DeWalt or Makita make a Cordless worm drive in the 18v line?
I believe only the Milwaukee is 18v worm drive style
I can work all day with my Makita 18v saw. Cordless is most definitely the future but for now there’s still a few heavy tools I prefer corded but in ten years I bet I’ll think different. This new battery Skilsaw is definitely a game changer.
I wanna know of you can get a bigfoot kit for the corless
No way.... What?? Skillsaw went Cordless? 😲 Mind Blown!!
Will the weight of the battery affect the way it hangs on the rafter hook? Just a thought 💭
face off against milwaukee rear handle!?
Would like to see if you can stall this thing out with serious speed and pressure in some 3” material. Run it against the rear handle beasts for Milwaukee, Dewalt & Makita! I believe we have a new champion! Great video & great job Skilsaw!
What’s the cost difference between the 3 .. if the skill can perform equal to or 5-10% less and SKIL costs being 20-30% less than them .. then yes I’ll get the skil
Would love to see the decimal readings the cordless does have a louder pitch
Definitely!!
dude the diablo blade is way better then the blade that comes with the corded saw . maybe put same diablo blade on both
El Diablo? Is that like Spanish for a fighting chicken, with the claws and the beak?😂😂
VCG Construction 😂😂😂😂
@@VCGConstruction i too have heard of the legend as well
Dang That’s Smooth! Nice Video Vince & Nick 👍
Price? Extra batt price? Batts fit other tools?
$399 saw and one battery.
$600 for two batteries, Diablo blade, and case.
Kyle Debettignies dang super spendy
@@cisco5036 yeah that's what I thought. We use the Milwaukee platform so when I saw this I was hopeful at saving alittle. But it's hard to toss over $600 on a single tool battery platform when I can spend $450 and get a Milwaukee with battery and have my other batteries to back it up.
Yeah I got the makita kit for 300 from Home Depot works just as good in my opinion
And I know they’ve been around for 77+ yrs I own the 75th anniversary edition (unused) but I’ve owned one 20+ yrs...
The new one does not get hung up!! 🤣🤣
run time with a battery?
Vince you gona run that against the flexvolt?
I would like to see a speed comparison with each having a new, and same brand blade. The corded Mag77, has a used blade on it. May not be as sharp or high quality. Great video!! Awesome new saw!
Does the battery rub?

I really like the variable sized dust port adapter thingy! 😁 Great video guys! Crushed it! 👍✌
Thanks David!!
Dewalt vs makita
Vs milwaukee???
Awesome video!!
I have a slight feeling that putting that same new Diablo on the corded would have helped alot.

Would you ever test that flush cut saw that's out there
What’s the price on that bad boy?
Glad I waited on this one. A true worm drive cordless. And it's a Skilsaw. Love it Mr. V.
Wow, very impressive how they keep this cordlees worm drive to look like their corded one.
This looks way better then any of the cordless skilsaw on the market.

Vince , Thank You for this video.
Do a weight comparison of them and overall length
Give me this guy vs Milwaukee’s new wormdrive TTR!!!
Where did you get the mag77? They stopped making that one a while ago, with the black shoe..
Lowes or depot can’t remember!!
@@VCGConstruction Right, looks like the home depot version with the all red handle ect. You must have had it on the shelf for a long time!!
Now the question is, does the battery reach full charge before the previous bettery runs out?
Which one do you personally like better the Milwaukee rear Handle circular saw Or cordless worm drive Skil saw?
Battery powered Vince. Battery powered pellet smoker. Battery powered air hammer (without the air). Would like to see a TTR this saw vs new rear handle Milwaukee or x2 Makita, and the DeWalt.
Maybe Clint over at TRZ like to run the DeWalt against our Skilsaw !

Was your blade new on the corded?
What is the difference between the spt77wm-22 and the spt77wm-01? I can’t figure it out
She sounds so beautifully and the way it stop sudden I love it
Have to run it against the Dewalt DCS577
Will it work with a prazi? Maybe add a twist lock pigtail
Great video Vince the battery is huge
Would love to see some angled cuts on the new skill
That is a handsome Saw! really enjoyed the unboxing and first look at that bad boy.
Thanks Cuz!!
Dude...that is one bad-ass saw. Definitely a game changer.
Vince what’s the cost going to be on this bad boy ?
Did you say the price & I missed it??

I wonder how the Milwaukee compares for speed
Hows this battery Skil vs the 2 x 20v?
Is this why bosch didn't deliver the promise to release the battery powered circular saw this year?
That is one sweet saw I do see Milwaukee in the background of that video
Makita 36v rear handle. I’ve got one it’s a BEAST!!!
Price?
I'm impressed. They should have used the classic Skillsaw font on the blade guard. It just doesn't look right in the block lettering.
Battle of the cordless circsaws of multiple brands

Awesome test Vince, awesome saw, Dang..........

Test this saw agains the 60v dewalt worm drive saw please
Dewalt is not a worm drive its a rear handle sidewinder
That's awesome! The original name brand skilsaw step up to the plate with the cordless saw.
Revers Speed numbers ( RPM)
That's a big ass saw. Thanks for the video. Still love my corded dewalt
Seems soooooo big. Can’t wait to see it against the competition!
Very balanced!!
Needed new matching blades to make the speed test valid
So talk about price between the two
Dust port thing must a technical term...

What is the advantage worm drive when modern motors are so small. Wouldn’t this just incur unnecessary friction losses
