  • A Timelapse video driving from Yamba, NSW to Brisbane, QLD.
Video was edited and sped up using Gopro Studio.
Roads driven were Yamba Road, Pacific Highway [A1], Ballina Bypass Road [A1], Pacific Motorway [M1], Gateway Motorway [M1] and Bruce Highway [M1].
Some footage was lost as the Sandisk SD card I'm using has problems with overheating if used for extended periods. This is a common problem for a lot of users.
Video was taken at 1920*1080 at 24fps.
GoPro was mounted to the windscreen via the BRLS suction cup mount.

That route has changed now and will change even more when the whole Highway is upgraded in 2020.

If you do any more of these one day try 60fps, it will be even smoother but ensure you double the speed at which photos are taken.

+AstralPhaser Oh do you mean like render in 60fps? From memory this was actually a video recording the whole time but it may have only been recording at 24 or 30fps. But yeah I can definitely notice the difference on lower frame rates. The GoPRO can record in 60fps though, so I might try that one day for a timelapse

+AstralPhaser The macroblocking on the shadows in the film is also really annoying cos RUclips compresses the blacks a lot but not much you can do other than render it in as high quality as possible. it may also be the motion blur I added to the film though.

Yea, that would be awesome. You gotta make sure that if your old settings were taking a photo every second you should move it to half a second as now double as many frames will be played at once. In other words make it take photos faster in order to preserve the current driving speed while just making it smoother to watch due to extra frames. Lol, I suck at explaining stuff...
