  • Greenslopes Driving Test Route
This is a footage of a real driving test at Greenslopes driving test centre (Greenslopes CSC) with narration from a professional driving instructor. This is not the only driving test route in Greenslopes. This footage gives you an idea of how a driving test at Greenslopes driving test centre is.
The video is packed with tips for driving test at Greenslopes driving test centre.
Click here to download the entire step by step breakdown of this test route on a PDF file format: bit.ly/3fwopKN
The driving test tips included in the video (Greenslopes CSC):
    1. Make sure you know about the car controls.
    2. Give way at the carpark. All the road rules still apply at carparks.
    3. Don’t ask the examiner where to go when there is only one option.
    4. Always change lane to right safely and at the right time by checking your mirrors, then putting your right indicator on and smoothly changing lane.
    5. Always get into another lane from the broken line and not the solid line.
    6. As soon as you turn to a new road at any traffic lights or intersections, check the speed limit signs.
    7. Advisory signs give us a warning about a specific situation on the road. Advisory speed limit signs are not mandatory to follow but we DEFINITELY take them into account and we slow down anywhere we see them.
    8. When turning right, always look ahead and give way to the cars going straight from the road ahead of you.
    9. When doing a U-turn at intersections in residential areas, you need to get close to two corners of the intersection on the right hand side, check the road, then finish the U-turn.
    10. At ‘give way’ signs, slow down, check the road and if the road is clear get to the road. If the road is not clear, STOP and give way to the cars on the main road, then keep moving.
    11. School times in a lot of locations(Not everywhere) in Queensland are 7 to 9am and 2 to 4pm Monday to Friday. If you drive between these times, slow down to a little under 40km per hour. If you drive outside of these hours, you don’t have to drop your speed to 40.
    12. When turning left at any traffic lights, if there is a slip lane, always go through the slip lane. At the slip lane, always give way to cars on your right.
    13. In a 60 zone on the main road, don’t drive 60 as you might go 61 downhill and that’s enough to fail the test. Keep your speed between 55 to 59. In some occasions you need to slow down:
    a) Around sharp bends
    b) Narrow roads
    c) When there are a lot of cars parked beside the road
    d) When it’s rainy
    e) When the traffic is moving slowly
    14. Make sure you are not overcautious and you don't drive too slow either.
    15. When two lanes merge into one lane (e.g Form 1 Lane sign situation), always check the lane next to you.
    16. Slow down on crests.
    17. If the examiners don’t give you any instructions at the traffic lights, just keep going straight.
    18. The examiners will debrief you about your test after your test, when you are back at the test centre.

Great job! Thank you for all tips. I just have one question. When the examiner was doing a U-turn at the intersection(7:49), did he just indicate right when he crossed the intersection, or did he start the right indication before entering? and I noticed you mentioned he should go to the corner a little bit more. As we are supposed to move straight, should we indicate left or not?

    • @drivingtestaustralia
      @drivingtestaustralia  Год назад +2

You're welcome Ali. When doing a U-turn at an intersection, we need to indicate right when approaching the intersection (Getting closer to the intersection), to let everyone know what we are up to.
We only need one right indicator at the start and nothing else. However, some people indicate left at the second corner. We don't have to do that, but if we do, that's not a big deal.

Can we do Uturn at intersection what about the vehicles coming from any side there is no U turn sign ? Usually there is a road divider and there is extreme right lane assigned where we can do U turn, but here there was intersection with no divider between road. Kindly explain !😮

Hi! Thank you for sharing these videos. I Have a question, I will take my test in a couple of weeks in Greenslopes. Is the examiner checking your speed with a hand-odometer? Because I have a Toyota Echo with the controls in the middle of the desk and is facing only the driver, The person sitting next to the driver cannot see the controls. Is this kind of vehicle allowed to get the test? Thank you so much.

    • @drivingtestaustralia
      @drivingtestaustralia  2 года назад +2

Hi Fabio. You're welcome. You can take your vehicle for the test and that's not a problem. The examiners don't carry any hand held speedometer. They are very experienced and can feel if you drive over the speed limit. Sometimes they might lean over to check your speed too.
If that's how your car is manufactured and the speedometer is not visible from the passenger side, that's not your fault. So just go for it and watch your speed. Good luck with your test. Hope to hear good news from you in two weeks time 💪

    • @drivingtestaustralia

Great question Tom. You need to stick to the rules to show the examiners that you know the traffic rules. Taking up on their kind offers in a driving test situation is not a good idea at all, as examiners think you don't know the traffic rules.
