I gave up on my sniper 1, had nothing bit issues with holley back and forth. Finally my system just completely went to crap. Holley just finally agreed to send me a sniper 2 upgrade for a substantial fee.. (better then full price) but unfortunately too late, almost 90% invested and ready for a carb setup. Biggest money pit I've ever dug myself..
Great video Jimmy. I've had a lot of issues with my first gen sniper. That's what got me to your channel. I wish Holley would give existing gen one purchasers a substantial incentive to upgrade/trade in there units for the gen 2. Looking forward to future videos.
TA31 is what's used to reseal 7.3 Powerstroke oil pans and intake plenums. We use it on 6.7 Powerstroke upper oil pans as well. Also, get an iPhone you neanderthal. Your stories are great too...don't sell yourself short. Love that hat and the video.
@@timelesssteelgarage Not with the Sniper logo but they have some with the Chevy logo Part# 241-292 they’re pricey tho.I’m not sure if part# 241-286 will fit but they also have the center bolt holes and are half the price of the other ones.
Nice video! I have really enjoyed following along! From my understanding from when the first gen launched, these throttle body style efi units don't do as good a job of fuel atomisation as a traditional carburettor. As a result, they actually use more fuel. They are night and day on blower applications, though apparently. the blower keeps the fuel in the air, and the efi keeps it fed consistently and can run more lean as a result. That's what I've read anyway. I'm interested to see how your experience is with the new generation. FYI, switching to a dual plane manifold will help a lot as it generates a lot more vacuum a lot lower in the rev range, which helps keep the fuel in the air.
Hope it goes better than the sniper 1 , sounds like Holley has help you a lot better this go round , still prefer Carbs, but like you I have both EFI and Carbs on my cars. Good vid👍
Nice build! A couple of questions. For such a low HP engine (no denigration!) why are you using a Holly High Rise manifold? That engine was made for a truck application where it's life is is in the 2000-4500 rpm range. HR manifolds are generally used in 5,000-7,000 rpm range. Second, that engine intake may have hood clearance issues. Might need a new hood? Again just asking questions I don't criticize. Your car.
No problem. good questions. Your absolutely right about power bands. Easiest answer is....cause its what i got lol. That motor will make more power eventually. The car has a cowl hood for that reason . May have to put a smaller air cleaner on it. Thank you for watching! I appreciate it.
Calling it a high rise manifold may be a mistake on my part. Holley just calls it a single plane. " Power band: 2500-7500 RPM" also this manifold is specifically designed for the vortec 350 by Holley .
