Gelatin powder: www.azurestand...
Recipe:
Ingredients:
2 cups heavy cream
1 cup whole milk
2/3 cup sugar
1/8 teaspoon fine sea salt
4 large egg yolks
1 1/2 tsp. gelatin powder
1 teaspoon peppermint extract
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1/2 cup crushed peppermint candy canes (optional)
Directions:
1. In a small bowl add 1 cup of the cream. Sprinkle the gelatin across the top of the cream and let sit.
2. In a small saucepan combine 1 cup of the cream, milk, sugar and salt over med-low heat until sugar is dissolved and it is hot. Remove from heat.
3. In a separate bowl, whisk yolks. Whisking constantly, slowly add in 1/2 cup of the hot cream mixture. Then, still whisking, slowly add the egg mixture into the pan.
4. Return the pan to med-low heat, slowly stirring while the mixture gets to 165 F. Whisk the gelatin into the cream. Then, add the cream and gelatin mixture slowly to the pot. Continue to heat, while whisking gently, until the mixture gets up to 170 F.
5. Remove from heat and whisk in the peppermint and vanilla.
6. Pour through a sieve into a blender.
6. Place the whole blender into the refrigerator to chill for at least 4 hours.
7. Blend the mixture until smooth, scraping down the sides if necessary. It should be similar to a pudding consistency at this point.
8. Add in the crushed candy cane and pulse until mixed in evenly.
8. Pour the mixture into your ice cream maker and freeze according to your appliance's instruction manual. I set mine for 45 minutes.

Yum! I can't wait to make ice cream!!!
Love homemade ice cream! I seriously need to look into a better maker for sure! Thanks so much for the detailed process!
Thanks for showing us how you make ice cream from scratch! Including milking the cow!! So cool!
Okay, now I need an ice cream maker lol ❤Thank you for your video
We’re finally getting some nice weather so won’t be long before we break out the ice cream maker
Yes! It’s been hot here too and ice cream is the perfect treat!
I adore peppermint ice cream, but I'm not too fond of the fluorescent green that most companies have. This is an excellent option with chopped dark chocolate. YUM
I totally agree!
Such a detailed process but I’m sure the end product is great!
Thanks 😊 we love trying different ice cream recipes
Hope you love it!
It sounds really good. Gelatin must be the secret
Yes!
Very cool what a great ice cream maker too!
I will have to give this a try. Every time we make it ours too looks lovely once made but so hard to scoop and the texture just seems well heavy and off. And like it's our favorite treat, we want to make it right. Thank you!
Yes! This one is good even after freezing!
Your ice cream recipe is so easy. Thank you for sharing! Will definitely give it a try. Also am very inspired to buy an ice cream maker now.
Great video
Thanks for the written recipe
Homemade is the best
Yummy😋Ice cream is the best!!! My favorite icecream is chocolate chip mint but i can only imagine how good the icecream must taste with raw milk and cream 😋

@TheFromScratchFarmhouse I made it and it is amazing!!! I kept it vanilla, I love the creamy consistency. Maybe you can do a video with some flavor variations?
Thanks for sharing 👍 😊
Off to check out your ice cream maker! I'm curious about the gelatine like another commenter... wondering if it would work in our recipe that doesn't have eggs? Making a note to try it when we make the next batch this week!

It looks delicious, and fun to make! It's a little shocking to see the ingredients in store-bought ice cream--homemade sounds so much better.
I have made ice-cream using an egg custard but never used gelatine. This must be the magic touch! Thank you for the recipe!

Oh wow! How exciting!!
This looks yummy and fun! I would love to try making ice cream sometime! Thanks for sharing.
So glad you enjoyed it!
I bet that ice cream is the best! I can't afford either of the fancy ice cream makers but I'm wondering if I could make it without them or not. Thanks for sharing! I love this Dairy month playlist! ❤🎉
I actually wonder if it would work because it’s so thick before you even put it in the ice cream maker. If you try it please let me know! I’d just skip the machine part, spread the blended mixture into a pan and freeze.
@@TheFromScratchFarmhouse it might take a few tries and fine tuning but it seems possible so I'll let you know how it goes!
at least to admit it! :) mmmm ice cream!!! ::: gets his spoon out ::: please and thank you!!!
It’s a great idea to add the gelatin! Just got an ice cream maker and I am excited to try out using some raw milk from our local source. It is hard for us to acquire it though so I’m wondering- since you’re heating yours, does that negate all the benefits of raw milk (enzymes, etc)?? I guess I’m wondering if this step is crucial, then should I just use regular store bought milk and save our other raw milk for fresh drinking to maintain all the benefits?
If I was paying for raw milk I’d probably not use it on ice cream for exactly that reason. Technically you can skip heating it as long as you are comfortable eating your eggs uncooked and know that it will be a different texture.
how to make best fruits ice cream plz ?
I could NOT find your ICE CREAM STORAGE CONTAINERS?
Please send link
Oh sorry, must have forgot to link it! Here you go: amzn.to/42RJs0K
Would you still recommend your electric ice cream machine?
