Fascinating (well, to me ;))! I’ve been a huge Beatles fan ever since I was 15 (in 1980) and only now I discover 3 songs I’ve always loved were actually Lennon/McCartney songs as well (Bad to me, A World without Love and Goodbye).

Like dreamers do’ I recognized from the Decca tapes by the way but I always thought that was a cover, so that being an original was a surprise as welI. ‘I wanna be your man’ was a friendly give away too, but that one they of course did record themselves (so I understand it’s not in this video). I’ve always found Lennon’s snarky “We weren't going to give them anything great, right?” a hilarious token of the almost brotherly rivalry they had with The Stones ;)
Okay Steve try these :- Call Me Caroline , The Beatles in Russia (their biggest fans btw) , Magee Renee , Fathom , Welp Here We Are On RUclips (uninterrupted songs and with amateur comment you can get stuck into - be kind !) , The Charismatic Voice , The BeatleSubmarine , The Beatles Scruffs , Yesterday's Papers , Things We Said Today , Pop Goes The Sixties or for something completely different try Theories Of Everything ( highly educated and informative ) , The Missing Enigma , The Why Files (clever & popular) , Bob Gymlan , Crecanford , Dr Miano's channel (?) for rational balance in ancient history , Hammerson Peters , Hidden Worlds , Vintage Hollywood , The Tape Library , History With Cy , Virgin Radio UK ..... Happy googling but make sure you go out in the sun ! 😹
Whoa whoa Tudor ya boobed - Goodbye like Blackbird was recorded simply with guitar by Paul and turned up on the deluxe version on Abbey Road ! And what about Penina and others you've missed ? Yeah ya thought the grim reaper had got me didn't ya !? Nay I'm still around and fond of them Silver Beatles. Good to see ya looking so well I'm envious . 😹🎱👁️🤡
Great stuff. I know The Beatles were never keen on repeating themselves but... Beatles For Sale suffers from too many covers as they were short on original material. It is a good album but a step down after the all original A Hard Day's Night. It's too bad they didn't record some of the songs here for it. Especially "A World Without Love" and "It's For You"... A way of disposing of Mr Moonlight and Honey Don't!!!
It’s an interesting observation isn’t it, that in their earlier albums they recorded so many covers, and yet clearly they had enough material that instead of giving away, they could have recorded themselves.
When you listen to the songs that John and Paul gave away it's quite obvious that they mainly gave away songs that weren't top notch. "A world without love" and "Step inside love" are the exceptions to the rule, but they were in a different style and wouldn't have fitted on a Beatles album.

Yeah I was aware of “I wanna be your man” but since they recorded it themselves I omitted it but it’s great that they gave it to the Stones.

I , like Call Me Caroline , rather like Beatles For Sale and it's got the same number of covers as Please Please Me and With The Beatles - 6 ! 🤡
