Lmao!!! This one was hilarious. These defendants are complete idiots. “He just has to sand it before he paints it, he can replace that” Everything is so simple, but they couldn’t do it. It is all actually really simple. I do a lot of it daily, for several different property management companies that sub-contract my company. These defendants think after 4 years, they can leave a place looking that. I’d hate to see how their home would look after 4 years if they owned their own home. Marilyn is real good at cutting people off and talking over them. She even does it to her husband. Poor guy. I’m sure he rarely has a voice in his home.
"I’d hate to see how their home would look after 4 years if they owned their own home." The problem with these people is that the home they rented does not belong to them, I guarantee their own home would not be even half that bad after 4 years. People have zero respect for other people's property.
I am absolutely blown away that the defendants tried to counterclaim for their deposit! I just cannot believe that there are people out there who are this careless and disrespectful! I guess because they don't own it and it's not their property they don't care! do they actually believe the things that they said at the end? Do they really believe that it was up to the landlord to fix all of the damages? And that it was all considered normal wear and tear!? Yes there are certain things that are considered normal wear and tear after a certain amount of time when renting property but there was absolutely nothing that the plaintiff was suing for that was considered normal wear and tear not one single thing!
2 things I learned , my grandpa taught me to take care of things even if they aren't yours and watched people's court since I was a teen. We took pictures before and after we always rented a place and tried to leave it as good as we got it we always got are deposit back 100% of it 👍
Unless the defendants previously lived in a cave, why would they think they can damage the plaintiff's home and walk away? I cannot believe the posters who are upset with the judge admonishing the couple. They were filthy, destructive, and dismissive. Where did they live before without consequence? Yes, a house can get messy and dirty. But that is why you clean as needed. I am also tired of people blaming their children. The cleanest house in my neighborhood was a family of seven who used to live across from me: Dad, mom, four children, and the dog. Pristine yard as well. It's called personal pride and home training. If you want to live like a slob, go ahead. But buy your own place and don't rent from others and tear up their homes.
I was a newlywed, 22 years old. We moved next door to my parents to help my dad. (Health issues) The landlord lived under us. He had known me since I was five. We mowed, we shovelled snow, maintained the common areas, made no noise, paid rent, damaged nothing, we painted in exchange for rent reduction. My dad was a pro painter, it was gorgeous. We watched out for the elderly lady and the landlords units when they were away. My landlord begged us to buy the home and let them be the renters. We cleaned up the payment record with the utility company. We bought a house after eight years. They hated to see us go.
Wow, how utterly mortifying for the defendants. They lived in a pig sty. It seems they don't even have a concept of keeping a house clean. The carpet in my house was installed in 2000. It has two stains, one where a Sharpie dropped and one where a Christmas tree stand leaked and I didn't notice until the tree was taken down over a month later. Other than that it looks new. It's astonishing that a brand new house could be in that horrible condition after only 4 years. It's also sad that a child is being raised in those filthy conditions. That's child abuse. And he'll probably grow up to trash everywhere he lives as well, just like he learned from mom and dad. And taking no responsibility for it, just like mom and dad. Absolutely disgusting.
Nobody wants to live in another person’s filth. Can’t believe they think they left that apartment in good shape. That damage was extensive and exorbitant to turnover for another tenant. He put in really good appliances too.
I lived in an apartment for 4 years. When I left the inspection, took 5mins. He told me that in his 15 years he's never seen an apartment left as clean as mine. I got my entire deposit back. I guess some people are just nasty

Put yourself in landlords shoes… u get excited to buy your first house and your first tenant destroys they place and then tells u oh well that’s ur problem. Carpets and paint should last AT LEAST 10 years. I could understand leaving it somewhat like that after a decade but not after 4 years. The fact that you think a new paint job after 3 is ridiculous. And even if the landlord was going to replace everything, it does not mean you still leave it a fucking mess. I mean the landlord should not have to sand the patches nor should he have to WASH THE FUCKING WALLS before he needs to paint. Seriously, stupid ignorant people like the plaintiffs angers me to my core. Think of it this way, if it was your own house, how often do you think you should replace the carpet? In your own house, how often should you paint the walls? That is the same duty as the tenants.
That depends on where you live. Some areas require landlords to paint and change carpet every so many years, even if there is nothing wrong with it. In other areas things need to be repainted or replaced only if they need to be repainted and replaced.
it may not be so in this case, but i'm amazed at the number of tenants who claim they left the place in a pristine condition, and then when you see the pix, they've trashed the place.
I have had tenets that have done stuff like that. I put in a carpet before a new tenet. 6 months later when he moved out there were bleach stains, burn marks and a spot where it looked like someone has taken scissors and made a spot bare. I bought a new stove and a year later the tenet moved and the thing was crusted inside and out. Every thing I did did not get it clean. I hired a professional service to clean it. I had a tenet put tampons down the toilet and her kids had put toys down it.
The defendants have a lot of gall. To come to court, straight faced and try to deny damage, put the repairs on the plaintiff when they caused it all and then try to get their security deposit back 🤣
Instead, there should be an option for them to go to jail and clean the jail cells if they don't want to clean where they lived freely. Maybe they can clean behind bars and get the drift.
They're the ones that are the type that when they get pulled over they admit to the marijuana because of the Lesser charge but the heroin on their lap isn't theirs LOL
The two defendants are REVOLTING, they may have enough money to buy 6 huge televisions, but they haven't got a clue about cleaning or maintaining. I pity the poor landlord that has them now, he's in for a shock when they leave...
Landlords need a *WorldWide* network where they can reveal to each other just what type of tenant(s) / renter(s) they endured: good or bad / clean or filthy / on-time and in full payments, etc.(this includes the AirBnB people). Would also be nice for there to be the same thing for renters to learn about types of landlords they may encounter. There are good, bad, and ugly in both groups.
We've lived in our place for over 6 years. It isn't disgustingly filthy and there is NO damage to anything. Of course, we own our house and that seems to matter.
The defendants are deada$$wro by. They trashed That place !!! And the wife is rude as He!! First time that that case was judged 100% correct . The landor deserved EVERY PENNY and more!!!!
These plaintiffs are too old to not have known how to leave a rented home. And the fact that they think it was fine as is, was a a complete joke. You two have to do better.
That’s why we sold our first rental right after the lease expired. Our house was IMMACULATE, and the family was very nice, but they destroyed the house.
I didn’t hear JM break down the cost of the damages but I sure hope the landlord got all the money for painting. I highly doubt the walls were all clean and didn’t need painting considering how nasty the rest of the house was
When you don't own the home, most people don't care about cleaning stoves, ovens, floors, rugs...I won't rent and is the reason I've sold each of my previous 3 houses rather than rent.
@Rafael Torres most of us renters do care for the houses and apartments we rent. It is the trashy people who are not vetted enough into their past history. They always destroy the nice places. Sad but true.
I say “my son” to my baby daddy & he says “my son” to me , we’re both referring to the same kid 😂😂😂 I guess we’re both very possessive of our kid 😂😂 My siblings & I do the same thing when talkn about our parents we always say “my mom” or “my dad” and we all have the same parents 😅😅
Defendants must not understand how filters work in AC units. They claim the filters aren’t theirs but admit that was a pic of the vent in the bathroom. If a filter is so blocked with dirt and dust it gets to the point that it is blowing out air with dirt and dust and that material ends up on the vent. So if their vent was that dirty it could only mean their filter was completely full of dirt and dust, hence that was a picture of their filter.
Why cant people just clean. Be clean! It’s disgusting especially when your a female and you have a home. It doesn’t have to be perfect but my goodness.
Here in Oregon after one year of living anywhere repainting the place is considered normal wear and tear and if the landlord wants to repaint its coming outta the landlords pocket. I've never been charged outta my deposit for painting bcuz I've always lived places for more than a year. Now if I didn't patch holes and if I had destroyed walls they can charge me for that but not to repaint.
They really expected and thought they were entitled to their deposit back??? Insane. That was disgusting and they think it's not their responsibility to return it the way they received it. The entire apartment was perfect and NEW. They did not care about what they did to that place bc they thought it wasn't their responsibility to fix it.
The plantiff deserved to get more than $2600 back. He had to replace and fix up so much. $2600 is not enough to clean up after those people. They should be so embarrassed 😳
I'd be embarrassed to return a unit/home back, the way they did. Too darn old to be so trifling and disrespectful.

The defendants we're just lazy, plain n simple. Thinking it was ok to leave the property in a mess like that.
Better get those tax returns back STAT ! 😂
it may not be so in this case, but i'm amazed at the number of tenants who claim they left the place in a pristine condition, and then when you see the pix, they've trashed the place.
To come to court, straight faced and try to deny damage, put the repairs on the plaintiff when they caused it all and then try to get their security deposit back 🤣
Excuse me. After seeing their pictures I want to just clean my house again.
Instead, there should be an option for them to go to jail and clean the jail cells if they don't want to clean where they lived freely. Maybe they can clean behind bars and get the drift.
They both should be ashamed to go on national tv with that home looking so nasty. 😢😢
It seems weird because the room their in now looks nice. Maybe they’re filming from a friends place😂😂
Wear and tear / damage & filth = Not the same thing
Sad that this couple doesn't understand this concept
Landlords need a *WorldWide* network where they can reveal to each other just what type of tenant(s) / renter(s) they endured: good or bad / clean or filthy / on-time and in full payments, etc.(this includes the AirBnB people). Would also be nice for there to be the same thing for renters to learn about types of landlords they may encounter. There are good, bad, and ugly in both groups.
Who gets the cops (guys with guns) to throw their shit out if they don't get their money? You need to tip the balance to landlords more?
We've lived in our place for over 6 years. It isn't disgustingly filthy and there is NO damage to anything. Of course, we own our house and that seems to matter.
This whole carpet business. I don't understand for the life of me why people wear their shoes indoors. What happens if it rains or you step in mud?
The defendants are deada$$wro by. They trashed That place !!! And the wife is rude as He!! First time that that case was judged 100% correct .
The landor deserved EVERY PENNY and more!!!!
These plaintiffs are too old to not have known how to leave a rented home. And the fact that they think it was fine as is, was a a complete joke. You two have to do better.
Now you know the place the defendant's are in for this trial is not theirs...it is way too clean.
They're just nasty. "It looked like a crime scene "
Why was the wife tapping him when he started talking about the bleach stain???? 😮
These two adults should be ashamed of themselves. They left the place absolutely filthy!
That’s why we sold our first rental right after the lease expired. Our house was IMMACULATE, and the family was very nice, but they destroyed the house.
I didn’t hear JM break down the cost of the damages but I sure hope the landlord got all the money for painting. I highly doubt the walls were all clean and didn’t need painting considering how nasty the rest of the house was
🤦🏽♀️ The wifey had a nasty attitude and kept a nasty house!
Why in the F!!! Would you use a SOS pads on stainless steel. They careless and nasty.
When you don't own the home, most people don't care about cleaning stoves, ovens, floors, rugs...I won't rent and is the reason I've sold each of my previous 3 houses rather than rent.
There's plenty of neglectful homeowners, too. "Hoarders" is so depressing to watch but they're a serious problem in any neighborhood 😞
@Rafael Torres most of us renters do care for the houses and apartments we rent. It is the trashy people who are not vetted enough into their past history. They always destroy the nice places. Sad but true.
WOW!!!! The defendants are terrible tenants!!!!!!!
They nasty and just figured their Security deposit was enough to cover their mess, bottomline. 🙄
It’s funny how you each say ‘my daughter’ or ‘my daughters’ and not ‘our daughters’. Just an observation.
My husband’s ex says that all the time, ‘my son’. So he’ll correct her, ‘our son’. The only time he’s my husband’s son, is when he’s sick.
I say “my son” to my baby daddy & he says “my son” to me , we’re both referring to the same kid 😂😂😂 I guess we’re both very possessive of our kid 😂😂
My siblings & I do the same thing when talkn about our parents we always say “my mom” or “my dad” and we all have the same parents 😅😅
I don't have kids, but if I was a woman who carried and birthed a kid I would say "my son or daughter" as well.
@@Thequeenbee707 But with the parents I say your mama but I say my daddy 😂
@@lashundavis156 lol are you closer to your dad?
Yeah, you can't trust anyone anymore. They don't care about or respect anything but themselves.
They have no respect for themselves .
I understand the place was nasty but wouldn't you go ahead and replace the carpet and paint after 4 years? They lived nasty and should be ashamed
Some people do leave a old tv there and the landlords don’t mind
They have to be filming in a friends house. No way they live that nice now. We seen exactly how they do.
Doug is Judge number 2 at the end 😂😂
Dough to the defendant 😂😂😂😂
feel a bit bad for the plaintiff, personally, i would hire cleaners to come in & clean before i return the place back to the rentee.
Those defendants are laughable. There's wear and tare then there's just dirty and irresponsible.
Why cant people just clean. Be clean! It’s disgusting especially when your a female and you have a home. It doesn’t have to be perfect but my goodness.
I just love how they say oh it can be clean, it can be clean, well why didn't you freaking clean it then. 🤨
They put the t in trifling.
That was messy! Wow
These defendants are lyinggg
They were lazy, nasty and Triflen..PERIODT!! exactly why it's soo hard for GOOD renters to find nice homes to rent!!
Remember that old SNL skit with Steve Martin "It wasn't me!!" lol. That's the defendants.
Happy Wednesday. Watching from Australia
GOOD afternoon how is the weather down under🤗😎🥰☀️🌻💙🇺🇸
Happy Tuesday from California how the future going for y'all in Australia 🦘🌏 , sorry I know that was corny but I couldn't resist🤣😭🤦🏾♀️
Gloomy, but warmer here in, Indianapolis
Lord have mercy! 😬They were clueless! They had no business leaving that place like that.
They really expected and thought they were entitled to their deposit back??? Insane. That was disgusting and they think it's not their responsibility to return it the way they received it. The entire apartment was perfect and NEW. They did not care about what they did to that place bc they thought it wasn't their responsibility to fix it.
It was the canked up spackling in the 4 spots that flatlined me..
I’ve never rented before, but even I know you have to leave it the way you received it. Did they not read the lease?
The plantiff deserved to get more than $2600 back. He had to replace and fix up so much. $2600 is not enough to clean up after those people. They should be so embarrassed 😳
Oh they nasty, nasty
