    I always felt this was the basis for the "The Sunshine Boys" A wonderful vaudeville routine thanks for sharing.

      Smith and Dale was the basis for Sunshine Boys.

    The difference between "The Sunshine Boys" and Smith and Dale is that Joe Smith and Charlie Dale were friends in the 1890s and remained so all of their lives. They're buried next to each other.

    Incredibly in 1962 here, the boys had already been partners for 64 years!...check it out on google...70 total yrs as vaudeville team before death separated them....

    Finaly found it!! The original "Doctor Sketch " of "The Sunshine Boys" :-)

      xylfox the sunshine boys never did a doctor sketch... or any sketch of that matter. They just sang in the late 1920s and early 1930s

      @@markostermayer3614 He's referring to the Neil Simon play and movie "The Sunshine Boys," about a comic team.

    I sent for some LP vaudeville records in the 1980s and they include the "Dr. Kronkhite" sketch, and also they also have the original "Fluegel Street" sketch, with Jack Albertson as the star.
