We've had some unusually large mangos this year! Chris shows some examples of the varieties that have produced larger than average mangos and talks about why this year might have made for big mangos.
i think we get less numbers of fruit, but larger , and sweeter . the sweetness i think also has to do with the dryer season . this was an exceptional year flavor wise .
Do you let anyone out to visit an buy fruit from you? I'm a big fan of your videos an was wanting to visit a farm on my birthday this coming 29th of July. Blessings
During mango season we are open several days of week to sell mangoes. We are also open every Saturday, 9-12, all year long to sell whatever tropical fruit is available. We also sell trees all year long.
I live in San Mateo, California (zone 10A). Which variety would be the best for me to grow? I mean which one will survive and be most susceptible to my zone. The average low is 41°F and high at 78°F. I'm planning on planting one or two in my backyard in the spring. Thank you.
Truly Tropical is located in Delray Beach. .. According to the 2023 USDA Hardiness Zone Map Delray Beach, Florida is in Zones 10b (35°F to 30°F) and 11a (40°F to 35°F). This is a change from the 2012 USDA Hardiness Zone Map which has Delray Beach in Zones 10b (35°F to 30°F).
Amazing sized fruit. Usually a case of smaller crops leading to the larger size as more of the energy goes into the less number of fruit. Still don't understand why you wear sunglasses all of the time. Do you have something wrong with your eyes? You wear them even when it's cloudy. It's really impersonal looking at sunglasses. You have really photosensitive eyes?
I’m not sure I understand why you care so much whether someone wears sunglasses or not, or how that comes off “impersonal”. Odd. There’s plenty of videos out there of Chris without glasses on. Nothing at all wrong with her eyes. Shes a farmer, working outdoors in a grove all day. Maybe you’re not familiar with Florida. Even when the sun is obscured its still extremely bright, and UV rays are still high, cloudy or not. It’s imperative to stay covered and protected, eyes included. especially when working outdoors for long periods of time. Also maybe her glasses are polarized, which can help focus in better on fruit and other things that may be overlooked when your blinded by the sun.
I have some Florida motorcycle buds that have failed to cover themselves... Their Porsche driving dermatologists love them! Ditto the cataract docs. But hey... to each his/her own.
Wow really large mangoes..I always enjoy watching your video
Greetings from 🇹🇹Trinidad and Tobago, I am a mango lover, all the best to you, keep the videos coming.
I haven't picked my first mango yet ! A few more days! Thanks for sharing! Beautiful!

My ice cream produced one enormous fruit and three tiny ones.

And then there are the Lancetilla and Golden Queen!

Is there a big mango with the same taste profile as sweet tart or carabao mango?
I will ask Chris.
And what was her reply?

Florida is the sunshine state.

Creepy comment. She works in the sun all day. When people move to Florida they buy sunglasses

@@mrazcr000 Not sure why creepy? Nothing derogatory about it. Just an observation. It was cloudy or dull there. Looked like late afternoon.
Any nam doc mai?
See you in the 2023 mango season for Nam Doc Mai.
