- Here's another great grouping of mangos! These mangos have flavors reminiscent of mangos originating in Southeast Asia, but are not directly from that region. (Many do have a parent from the region.)
This video is a part of a series to help our viewers select a mango variety (or varieties) to grow in their yards. Here's a link to access the entire playlist so far: • Mango Variety Grouping...

Such awesome information. Very helpful especially for Home Gardeners with limited space. Thanks for the information.
Orange sherbet is amazing 🥭🥭
Varieties.... So many! I got a few around here, I can hardly try them all, as to say that!
I clicked so fast thinking she had Mangos already 😂.
There's no way that you can have Orange Sherbet and Lemon Zest but leave out PPK! And what about Mahachanok?
The one thing I found is most people Don't like mango because of what they got from a store. They are hard to convince that there are better mangos out there. Keeps a lot of neighbors away from my trees.
when is the best time of the year to visit you guys to buy and taste some mangos?
June and July is the peak season for mangoes in our area and we are open more days of the week during the peak of mango season as well.

I much prefer audio about the varieties rather than just photos with instrumental music...
I need a cold hardy mango with sweet fruit for Texas...any recommendations
Mangoes aren’t very cold hardy and will die at 28F and below. That being said my Pickering mango has survived down to 28F with almost no damage while many of my other mangos died, so I think there’s something about Pickering that makes it a little hardier than the rest.
Look into doing espalier alongside a concrete or brick wall that gets full sun. It's a method used to protect against cold weather, and easy to wrap the tree for cold snaps. Australians seem to like it for mango trees.
I appreciate your advice and thanks again for the help
Two of the most most popular SE Asia mangos in the world missing from the list nam doc mai and mahachanook ?
ikr..
Are there varieties that could grow in ground without protection in zone 9A?
Well, if you are asking if one or another variety is more cold tolerant than another. Pickering is reputed to be a few degrees more cold tolerant than many/most varieties.

anyone can describe Southeast Asian Type Flavor? i have no idea. I am a newbie and bought for myself pickering mango tree
You nailed it. How can someone talk about a category without even describing the flavor???
best thing is, you yourself has to try and taste and be your own judge whether u like them or not.
@@barrioboi14344 I know, but that's not possible for me. I've tried Keitt and Tommy so far
OK, I'll give it a shot. SE Asian flavor is not resinous or piney like most Indian mangos, nor does it resemble stone fruits like some classic Florida mangos do. A sub-category of SE Asian (PPK/Lemon Zest/Orange Sherbet) has a citrus flavor. SweetTart is a very well-regarded SE Asian mango and is sweet and tangy at the same time. Can someone else add to this flavor discussion?@@EffectivePickyEatersSolutions
Way too many varieties … mon it got me head dizzie…😂
Is it true alex doesn't sell the premium msngos to locals. Only ships them?
I don't think so, I live in Homestead and got all the plants and mangos I want from him, real honest person!!!

That’s not true
Premium mangos are sold at the farm all the time during mango season 🥭

No, that is not true. Alex sells mangoes at his fruit stand on his farm to locals. You would have to check is webpage for days he will be open.
