I've driven a 2016 Transit 150 extended and it honestly felt like a car. For a van it's really smooth and fun to drive. Ford is making really quality vehicles at the moment, in all forms.
My dad got my mom a brand new Chevy Tahoe in 1998 and today we said goodbye to it. Today we got this F-150 model. Took it on a little test spin myself and compared to that Tahoe, good lord. I mean sure this thing is 20 years in the future, but imagine going from that to this. Mind blowing. I love the 2018 F-150. 10/10 would buy myself one. Or two.

I love my new 2017 FX4 XLT Super Crew 5.0L with the six speed. I am getting 19.2 MPG highway/city which is better than I expected. The truck has been flawless. I went for the 2017 to save some $$, and to NOT get the auto/start technology. 5000+ plus miles are on the truck this week,
the way to disable the start stop technology is to get a trailer light tester and plug it in. tricks the truck into thinking it is towing and turns it off. or just hit the button everytime you get in. Just for future reference.
Despite this being the smallest V8 by displacement in the 1500 segment, I think this one actually sounds the best. I drove one of the 2021 press trucks yesterday with the V8 and it’s really nice on the ears. I spent a week with the Silverado 5.3 a few months ago and the Ford is nicer. I’ve never driven the Ram but compared to what I hear in videos, I think the F-150 wins. My local dealer is actually selling the Roush Supercharged ones and I’m very close to going into some massive debt
yup, just ordered my 2020 F150, almost put the ecoboost in, really glad I picked the V8, after test driving both I agree, it just feels and sounds right, the sound is unbeatable.
@@hawaiianflavor69 lol. American trucks these days have the luxury of German cars and the functionality of, well, a truck. You have comfort and usefulness. A Swiss Army knife with a luxurious feel. They are also reliable, the only real negative being that trucks don’t get the best MPG. But neither do German cars since they put V6 in them so that they can be quick.
I've really been taking a hard look at the 2017 Silverado Rally 2 and Midnight, but this POV drive has completely changed my decision. Thanks for saving me from a 50k mistake. I'll definitely be driving the 18 F-150 before making a decision.
I’ve always been a GM guy. My old man had a 2014 Sierra with the Ecotec3 5.3L and now he has a 2018 Sierra SLT with the 6.2L. Both of those engines are powerful, reliable, and sound the best in my opinion. But when I was getting my CDL in school, my instructor is a big Ford guy and so he and I went at it nonstop lol. He showed me his brand new F-150 and brand new Mustang GT both with the 5.0L Coyote V8. Let me test drive them lol. NOW I DONT KNOW WHO TO GO WITH!! LETS JUST SAY THAT LOL! GM and Ford are the best in my opinion.

I drive a 2016 Black Platinum FX4 6 speed transmission. Love my truck. After 2 years. No problems. I have a line of co workers wanting to buy it. I am not liking the front grill on the 2018. But that’s my opinion.
I own a 2018 Ford F-150 5.0 lariat and I have had nothing but issues with it. Do you research prior to buying. They all have the cold start deceleration rattle issue which there is no repair that works. Also mine had a motor replacement for burning oil and it still burns oil. Sunroof issues, transmission rattle issues. I really do love the truck but after 20 trip to the dealer in 1.5 yrs Ford is buying it back and I’m going with a Toyota now. I have only owned American cars but after this I can’t risk going through it again. Too stressful. I highly recommend you look up these issues and read the comments of what owners are going through.
My daily driver is a 2007 Tacoma. At my work we have 2018 fleet model xl f150s and I honestly can't tell a difference when driving the two of them. Pretty impressive they can make a full size truck handle like a midsize...
The 3.5 Ecoboost will spank this 5.0 :D I prefer the EcoBoosts they get off the line much quicker.. in day to day driving the low end torque on the ecoboosts really shines

Not a fan of the new raptor at all, if I was in the market for a raptor I would definitely look for a tidy first gen and one with the roush stage 2/stage 3 package for the extra horses
I have a 13 Limited with the Ecoboost and a 14 King Ranch with the 5.0. No doubt the Ecoboost is faster, especially with the mods I've done. The 5.0 is lightly modded but feels much slower. Both are 4x4 crew cabs with 3.73 gears. With that said, I've been looking at new 19's and as much as I love the High output Ecoboost in the Limited, I'm staying with the 5.0 for long term reliability. I feel like the EB isn't going to last long term. I wouldn't want to own the EB after 10 years of daily driving. IMO, the V8 will stand the test of time better.
Coming from a Chevy guy, this is a bad ass truck. I hate the fact that ford is focusing more attention on ecoboost tech then on the future development of this beautiful engine for trucks. Idk I'm old school

I used to bash older NA V8s, but the 18s get dual injection and 10 spd auto. I'm no longer sad when I don't see the EcoBoost badge on the f150.

Should’ve had it in “Sport” mode. My 2018 F150 5.0 comes alive in sport mode. It loves to rev and the 10 speed gives it near CVT acceleration speeds.
Any full size suv or pickup that isnt powered by a V8 is just a sin. Its a fundamental crime.

My 2016 5.0 has the six speed. I love it. Took the muffler off and put a straight pipe in it’s place.

It is a sweet engine forsure. Always buy the lowest gear (numerically higher number) that you can get and let that 5.0 spin to the moon!
