I'm pumped that folks like Viltrox are putting out some great quality autofocus lenses at lower prices. Even though I already have the Sony 35 1.8 I might just have to pick up this lens. Great video, Jay!
Thanks for the review. How does it compare to the Samyang 24 1.8? Everyone seems to love it. So many high quality options for Sony which makes it the best full frame option for those of us who don't have $1500 to spend on a prime lens.
Hi Jason, would you recommend this or the Viltrox 23mm f/1.4 for a Sony a6400 user? The 24 seems way sharper than the 23, less chromatic aberration and better AF
Yeah, the 23mm is made for the crop factor lenses and I agree the 24mm lens is better, but it's larger, heavier, and more expensive.... Have you considered the Sigma 30mm f/1.4 Lens geni.us/Emr2pam , because it is significantly cheaper and sharper, but not as wide as 24mm of course... Otherwise, yeah this 24mm Viltrox is a great option and the 23mm is also pretty darn good in the real world overall. I would rather have the f/1.4 myself, but I am a gluten for Bokeh...
@@Jason_Hermann i’m looking for a 35mm FF equivalent for street photography. I’ve the sigma 16mm f/1.4 but it feels too wide when i shoot street, so i think a 35mm FF equivalent would be the best option for me. Now i just need to decide between the 23mm and the 24mm 😭

I am aswell and this lens is the best Viltrox I have tested yet!

Very tempting, good review. No I need to find an Astro photography review of this thing...
That is an excellent review thanks
Thanks for watching and the kind words ;)
