For me, I give my characters personality, like this character speaks angrily, this other character speaks energetic, this other character don't talk much.
It's also very cool to make the dialogue have their like inside jokes too, like maybe this guy peptalks his army, "in every pasture there is a sheep and In every sheep there is a lion" and then later on in the story they kill the villain and say.. "I am no sheep" kinda like that.
And also try to imagine reading the script without knowing who's saying it and check if you can pick out who's saying what.
And conversations should be brief and sensible.
Also the speech bubble placements also matters; if the bubble is on top right, it means it is the first thing the readers read and if the next bubble in the pannel is in the bottom left there probably was a pause before the respond. People read bubbles right to left and top to down, unless it's a manga.
Also I don't think anyone should put a speech bubble in the middle, personal opinion.
Also sometimes because it's comics anyway, even in books, sometimes when dialogues aren't necessarry, it's better to not have one at the moment and make the readers just look and narrate what's happenning to themselves.
Also I am not an expert, my spellings are probably wrong, I just like to read make stories and comics, also I'm 12.
I like your videos, thought me things I didnt know like how the first panel is the most important one
btw, where can I see these comics?I probably can't pay them, I'm 12. Looking for some inspirations and stuff.
This comment is really helpful, thanks for posting)
Btw, you can find The Magpie on Webtoon (it's free, either use the app or search in browser).
No, don't doubt yourself, this is super helpful. I'm terrible at dialogue, but I've been working on changing that. So thanks for the tips!

Thanks for the tips Bones! This was very helpful. I've been struggling with dialog for my next comic. The plot and story are there I've just been stuck on how to get the character dialog to push the story more. 💖💖
Hope y'all have a great day.

I was just gonna watch this video for a one time referance to help me out a little, but I think you explaind things just enough for me to understand them without making it feel overwhelming to do like some other channels. So imma gona sub to ya and see what else you gotta say ✌️
Great video, thanks a lot!
🎉good🎉it helped in my exam 🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤
when it comes to cheesy dialogue for me i would not drag it out or have a pointless convo that doesn't progress the plot
