Great reaction. The easy symbolism: The black leather jumper is similar to Elvis' outfit he wore on the 1968 comeback special, the red guitar is exactly the same one he used in that same special, and the iconic beehive hairdo is the same one Priscilla Presley made famous in the 1966-1968 timeframe. My interpretation of other symbolism - the removing of the dust covers signified dusting off an old classic and revitalizing a beloved song from a long ago era. The little girls, who were her two cousins and her sister depict her life in music growing up and developing surrounded by the old classics which shaped her love of music. Angelina is the classiest, most authentic, musically intelligent, and talented artist I have had the privilege to witness in my 57 years. This performance was a masterful re-interpretation of this iconic song. Mad respect to the King of Rock and Roll from the Queen of Jazz.
I agree about the girls because Angelina in her early days always wore white when preforming so then the big jump from 10 to now in black...she has grown up so we can expect different things from her.
You forgot to mention the blue suede shoes and the fact that her grandmother, Mery Zanani produced this so if she wants her four grandchildren to appear in the same video I guess she has the right to request that as she paid for the production.
Yes , many symbolisms. The hairstyle is what Priscilla Presley wore. The black leather outfit and the red guitar are a tribute to what Elvis wore on his comeback TV special. The piano starts as Angelina is removing the dusty cover (dusting old songs). Her baby cousin represents the innocence that we are all born with. Her other cousin running around and looking up represents the curiosity and bewilderment of discovering new things. Her sister Juliette looking regal sitting on an antique chair represents the hope and the dreams of what of what and where she wants to be (The Queen of Music on her Throne). And then Angelina as a 16 years old looking like a rock star as if she is saying.: I arrived and I belong here with the best. These are my interpretations. Regardless, Angelina in my eyes is and has been a Superstar for a very long time. Thank you for your genuine reaction and analysis and I look forward to your next Angelina’s reaction video.
That is the best interpretation of the symbolism in the video that I've read so far. I doubt it will be bettered and with your permission I would like to copy it to my Angelina notes, please.
@@alberttenfoot thank you. Those were my thoughts when I first saw the video. Others might see things differently. you are welcome to copy my observations and use them if you feel the same way. Cheers
I'd been an English teacher - and symbolism was my life, so to speak. Sometimes we call it, I called it, reading between the lines. What a delight to see the comments below focusing our attention on the symbols. Thank you vocal coach for calling them up. Angelina, IS the message 'between the lines'. How I love her, and love her for being there - and being for us. Tears, AJ. j
She has always been cool as a cucumber performing, even at 7 when she auditioned for Norway's Got Talent. Her uniqueness was clearly evident even then. 😎
Absolutely what I expected. She made this her own song and she did it beautifully. I noticed Juliet sitting there she is going to be as beautiful as Angelina one day. Elvis' version is great and it always was, and it still is one of my favorites. but Angelina's version is equally great and is definitely her own. When I first heard this song I loved it and put it at #3 on my playlist (Angelina Jordan Playlist by Terry M.), about midday I moved it up to #1. The main thing that changed my mind was the power in her voice. I'm not talking about loudness I'm talking about the power she has regardless of how loud or soft she sings. This is a quality that I haven't heard from anyone in my 82 years. This voice has become so unique that it is totally unmatched. The pianist is Rob Christie (3 Grammes), he is the head of the Republic Record department that is responsible for Angelina and other singers. The two small kids are her uncle Mike's kids, and the older girl is Angelina's sister. 🙂
@@JonJon-wf5yj I can name a few that are a lot better. For young singers, Jackie Evancho, Lucy Thomas and Amira Willighagen. Move up to older singers and there's Sarah Brightman, Carrie Underwood and, though I'm not a fan, I'll even throw in Celine Dion. All can sing whatever Angelina Jordan can, but she can't sing the music that, especially Jackie and Amira can.
For me, this was a love song. Seems from birth she fell in love with the Old Masters in music. A kid filled with wonder in an antique store. I think the song is about that relationship but that's the cool thing about fine art. There are lots of ways to look at it.
There are so many ways Angelina pays tribute to Elvis in this video but will leave those things to the people who picked up on them. As with many Angelina covers, I now have a better understanding of the lyrics. This song is about a relationship between lovers. Not a big jump to saying it is also about family and Angelina and her team chose to have her two young cousins and her younger sister play a part. All the antiques represent the past and remind us of days gone by and our foundation values. Thank you for your sincere reaction to Angelina and I look forward to your next one. We should share her gift with everyone we know! Angelina Jordan is here to inspire us to be the best we can, and she certainly has done that for me. She has influenced how I view life, and to appreciate the beauty around us, including music. I am dedicated to paying it forward. I listen to her because it enlightens me to know there is hope and promise for our youth. Angelina vows to spread peace and love to the world through her music, and the world needs her now. My passion currently is to help support and promote her so that she will soon be able to use her influence toward her worthy cause of healing. Over my entire life, I haven't had a performer with that I eagerly awaited every new song as I do with Angelina. While her fan base appears to be condensed around Norway and RUclips I highly suspect that will change when she releases her upcoming album which hopefully will be predominately new material. The vast majority of her covers are not available outside of RUclips and other social media perhaps due to licensing and rights. For those future fans who haven't discovered her yet, there will be such a wealth of material from her journey from when she was a wee girl. I can't imagine that her music won't explode when they decide to promote her more. You can just look at how reactors commonly react to dozens of her songs when they seldom do so except for perhaps Pentatonix, Dimash, and a handful of other young women.
@@robertvirnig638 I agree that once her family gives Republic the green light to promote Angelina, her career will skyrocket. I have to believe Angelina has already written dozens of songs and can't wait to hear some of them on the album.
Thanks, I loved your beautiful reaction, at only 16 years only, she is simply magic and amazing, over any words. Angelina has always been wonderfully engaging, but now her voice gets warmer and deeper each time and her slower version of this iconic song is truly fantastic, for me much closer to the emotion of the lyrics than Elvis's version. Elegant and very sweet, she really enters her our heart. I also infinitely love her fantastic family that is so close to her, this video is truly a wonderful little work of art, so full of sweet references to the Elvis persona, I believe that the girls represent the awareness and artistic growth of Angelina herself and they are her cousins and her sister Juliette ! 💛🧡❤️ If you like, this is of yesterday, her new version of "I Have Nothing" (Allsang på Grensen 2022). Amazing how much this girl has improved on this song ... she changed it in her own splendid way and now she has absolutely no trouble with the breath. 😂 ruclips.net/video/AqtIVYFjapQ/видео.html
Nice reaction and analysis. What a rendition! Her Gandma Mery produced this. Looks like she used the same store she used for her My Funny Valentine video! Her sister Juliette was the older girl. The 2 younger girls are her Uncle Mike's kids, and, we have 2 time Grammy winner Rob Christie (music director and head of Republic Records) on piano. What a great cover! The beehive hairstyle was to honor Priscilla Presley and the time period she met Elvis. The red guitar is either the exact model he used when performing (or some have speculated that it is the real guitar!) I was not expecting this! Funny thing is, this was almost 4 minutes, but it flew by and felt short! 16 years old….Wow!!! What a performance! My opinion, the little girls represent her at different stages in her life. As you watch more of her videos, you'll see that she wore white colored dresses whenever she performed when she was little....
Her voice in the first verse of this song is one of the most Beautiful things I have ever heard. Just blew me away. So warm and rich and dark---WOW!!! And having seen/heard what she has done with so many classic songs, e.g. "California Dreamin'", I wasn't surprised with the rearrangement. But again, that first verse was truly incredible!! I had a little trouble recovering from the emotional impact it had on me. The entire video and performance is a 10+ Concerning the symbolism, I can assist with some of it: Updo a respectful gesture to Pricilla Presley; Black leather suit, red faced guitar, and Rob Christie's red jumpsuit, a tribute to Elvis' 1968 "Comeback" Special. Don't know what the children represent, but I do know who they are: the two younger ones are the daughters of her uncle Michael, who is also her manager; and the older girl is Angelina's little sister Juliette, who would be about 10 now. This is the second video she has created in this "antique" store in LA. Don't know the symbolism of that either. As is almost always the case, when Angelina posts a video, it exceed anything she has done before. And this is no exception. I always look forward to your reactions to Angelina. I respect your opinion, so that is why I am a subscriber. Angelina is in Norway now performing in several concerts over the next few weeks. I've already seen two of her performances and they were both Terrific!! And OH MY! You must see her in that blue formal dress. WOW!!! She is a STUNNINGLY BEAUTIFUL! young woman now. And her voice continues to get Better and Better. Best wishes. 😊😊
William, I totally agree with all you said. My take on the 3 girls is, the youngest is about the age Angelina started singing (18 months, Angelina's cover of Whitney Houston's, I Will Always Love You), the toddler is about the age in which jazz music found her & she told her Mom that she wanted to sing on "that Simon show." Finally, the pre-teen (her 10 yo sister) is about the age when many of her fans think she had shed any remnant of her childish voice & was a full-fledged professional. She always wore white dresses until she was about12 when she began began wearing more colorful outfits. That's my theory about her 2 cousins & her sister in the white dresses.
@@keithserafy I like it, Keith. Of course, we are just filling in the blanks that only Angelina has the answers to. But maybe that's what she wants us to do. Anyway, works for me.
Angelina‘s grandmother was the executive producer on this video. It’s a great tribute to Elvis given that Angelina wears leather, has the guitar, wears her hair the way Priscilla often wore her hair when she was married to Elvis Presley and she had on blue suede shoes. You can see them when she’s sitting on the loveseat in the middle of the video. And I think the little girls represents Lisa Marie growing up and the difficulty Elvis & Priscilla had in their marriage/coparenting♥️🇨🇦♥️
I was thinking the same Angelina started the song lm caught in a child maybe it was coming from Prisclla side of the story with Lisa Marie as a child ...
Angelina absolutely gorgeous performance, Angelina dressed to represent Pricilla Presley hair style and Elvis in black with the Elvis red guitar, the two youngest girls in the video are Angelina’s cousins her uncles children and he is also Angelina’s manager, the eldest girl sitting in the chair is Angelina’s sister Juliette, I absolutely love this version, honestly I’ve never been a Elvis fan , but Angelina has created a masterpiece!
Thank you so much for being the exception. Almost without exception the other reaction videos I've watched continuously interrupt the video to comment and for me at least, this ruins the experience. I just wish more would wait to comment. Allowing all of us to enjoy start to finish.
Great reaction!! "How does she do that?", yes... that is the question! You are right, she is superb at interpretation and the related storytelling but how she does this is quite a bit the mystery!! Yet she shows us over and over! The power and even more, the emotional intensity she delivers at the first phrase here tells us, in her sweet way, she ain't here to play. She intends to bring it (meaning a new disassembly of the piece and she does). Red guitar, leather suit, and Priscilla Presley hairdo reminiscent of Elvis' 1969 comeback tour. How does she know about all that..it doesn't matter. Then her vocals! World class!! Can't wait for the next one!
Thanks for another great reaction to another masterful reinterpretation by Angelina - this time to an Elvis classic. Through Angelina's arrangement we are able to not only better hear & understand the lyrics, but also to deeply FEEL the essence of the music in our hearts & souls. Definitely a family production - the Executive Producer Mery Zamani is Angelina's grandmother, the young girls are her cousins & the older girl is her sister Juliette. For another masterful reinterpretation by Angela, please also consider reacting to her cover of the Michael Jackson classic -Billie Jean. Thank you. And may GOD continue to watch over & bless Angelina Jordan.
Thank you for another excellent and heartfelt reaction to Angelina. The song was written by Mark James. In the Wikipedia entry of the origins of the song, he is said to have remarked "That late one night, he was fooling around on his Fender guitar and using his Hammond organ pedals for a bass line and came up with what he thought was a catchy melody. At the time, he was married to his first wife but still had feelings for his childhood sweetheart, who was married back in Houston. James's wife had suspicions about his feelings. He felt it was a confusing time for him and that all three were "caught in this trap that they could not walk out of." and, in my mind, Angelina's rendition is much truer to the lyrics than any other singer, including Elvis. The children appearing in the video were Angelina's cousins - daughters of her uncle Michael Astar, and then her sister Juliette. I would hazard a guess that they were included to emphasise that children are very important to Angelina and her family. Confession! I have never been a great fan of Elvis Presley, although I do like some of his earlier recordings, and I had never heard of the song "Suspicious minds" but knew that Angelina would completely take ownership of it, and she did. It was beautiful. After listening to it several times, I decided to download the lyrics to see whether she kept to the original structure. She didn't, and the song is all the better for it. I paste below the order in which Angelina sung the verses. "Suspicious minds" Angelina Jordan - lyrics rearranged. (1) Oh let our love survive I'll dry the tears from your eyes Let's don't let a good thing die When honey, you know I've never lied to you (2) We're caught in a trap I can't walk out Because I love you too much baby (3) Why can't you see What you're doing to me When you don't believe a word I say? (4) We can't go on together With suspicious minds And we can't build our dreams On suspicious minds (5) So, if an old friend I know Stops by to say hello Would I still see suspicion in your eyes? (6) Here we go again Asking where I've been You can't see these tears are real I'm crying (Yes, I'm crying) (7) We can't go on together With suspicious minds And we can't build our dreams On suspicious minds (8) Oh let our love survive I'll dry the tears from your eyes Let's don't let a good thing die When honey, you know I've never lied to you
Thank you Albert… it took me this long to find this video and is a pleasure to read your comment! I send you my appreciation and happy energy. It’s always good to see a comment from you in this journey with Angelina!
This is, I think, the third Angelina reaction video, that I have seen of yours, and my original reaction to your reaction, seems to be holding true. A heaping helping of intelligence, excellent theatrical interpretation, authenticity, and of course...beauty.
So nice to see your thoughtful analysis of our young Barefoot Princess. I believe the girls in the video represent Angelina's Journey from infancy to present through the classics of music history. Thus the Antique store, She grew up studying and performing these classics. Did you notice that right foot raise it''s heal to cradle the guitar a couple of times in the performance. I was waiting for her to throw in a little shake to it in homage to the King. Could that have been intentional? That is Rob Christie on piano. Sister Juliette and a couple of Uncle Michael's Babies. I think that makes them cousins not nieces. Full Black Leather Bodysuit, the guitar from his concert in 68 and the hair a homage to Priscilla Presley. Yeah! She brings tears to your eyes don't she? Epic. Incredible. There are no words. Epic! Wow, Wow, Wow! Could it be more Beautiful? ♥👣👸🏻🎷 Yeah she doing a Concert in Norway this month! Album to drop soon! So much to look forward to.♥👣👸🏻🎷
Not bad, eh? :):):) I heard your opening comments about getting ready to react to more of Angelina when she was young. Don't be afraid to go back to when she was really young. She was singing Billie Holiday and Ella Fitzgerald at 7 years old on Norway's Got Talent. On this video, as soon as she started to sing within 5 seconds she touched our hearts. Her soulful tones which come from deep within her turn into love when we hear her voice and our hearts cannot resist. When you compliment her voice with who she is as a kind, caring and loving human being she becomes someone who stands alone and cannot be compared to anyone. She may sound like several different artists because of the way she pays homage to the classic song she is covering and the artist, as well. I just subscribed and I am so happy for you that you have discovered Angelina. I have one particular video I would like you to see, hear and react to. It's Angelina singing 'My Funny Valentine' at 10 years old sitting in a chair at home. She has recently done another video of the same song at 16 years old which is also a must watch. But, please, take a look at the video when she was 10 years old first.
LOOOOVVEE your reaction! It was great, fantastic, and I (we) could tell you honestly "GET IT"! In other words you understand how great Angelina is. Even at 16 she is still far ahead of her years. I have been a fan and have been following her ever since she auditioned for NGT at 7yo. Her advancement almost every month since then has been astounding, but the changes the last few months starting with her Tiktok and IG, and exploding in February with "My Funny Valentine" (done in the same antique store), and now this absolute MASTERPIECE in every aspect of it have shot her to the stratosphere. If it is true of her as with most female singers and she is still several years away from reaching her full vocal maturity one cannot even imagine what she will be capable of doing with her voice at 25. Something the world has never heard before , and maybe never will again! I was a young teenager when Elvis first hit the scene, and until little Angelina came to be an almost daily part of my life 8 years ago (an now IS a daily necessity), HE was always #1 to me! He was and always will be the KING of R&R. Angelina was/is the Queen of Jazz and soon to be the QUEEN OF MUSIC! The little girl who at 6 wanted to be a superstar is well on her way to that goal!!
I'm sitting here in tears, I envy Rob that he gets to play for AJ, I can't believe I can't be at their concerts in Norway, and I envy everyone who gets to experience that and of course I wish you a wonderful one experience for you participants. This cover is incredible and it shows what wonderful things are to come in the future. Protect her because she is the treasure of all of us. Now add the album and I'm the happiest person in the whole universe.
What a glorious production, praise to everyone involved, so perfect for Angelina Jordan she rules the universe with her talent. Again, the great talent of Rob Christie playing the piano. The Cinemaphotography, a total MASTERPIECE. Great touch, the cousins and sister get a cameo. Mery, you should be so proud, AJ's grandma produced this. Excellent ART Cole McCarthy! (This red guitar is identical to the one Elvis played in his 1968 concert on TV.) Oh, the tears, and loss of breath, she is like no other in the universe. Here is a classic example of what this ethereal talent, Angelina Jordan, can achieve she takes a mundane song and turns it in to phenomenal classic. Angelina at 16 is the MASTER of her universe, she is top priority for both Stargate, and Rob Christie Republic Records Studio Director at Universal Music Group Manhattan Beach, California. Rob has been playing the piano on most of AJ's studio production performances.
Maybe you'll think that I am crazy, but I think that the music and the lyrics take control of her when she sings and she becomes a slave that is happy to obey and delivers every note perfectly, with that beautiful voice without any doubt. She is posses and takes us with her to heaven.
Angelina delivers another magical interpretation on this Elvis classic with that magical voice she has been gifted with. I can hardly wait for the world to be saturated with her music and talent. Appreciate the wonderful reaction of my favorite singer. Thumbs up, a lot of great info in the comments.
Symbolism: the girls in white (actually her cousins the two younger ones, daughters of her uncle Michael who is her manager, and her little sister Juliette) representing herself growing up (among old things, or songs... she started listening to the old jazz greats like Etta or Billie at age three...) and now unveiling the inherent beauty of these old songs, literally blowing the dust away... the hairdo: Amy, yes, but here even more: Priscilla Presley. The black leather clothes and the red semiacoustic guitar: Elvis during his come back tour '68... The boots taken off for singing: there's a whole story (and a great book she wrote at a very early age, and her grandmother Mery Zelmani illustrated most beautifully...) about that, I'm sure other will tell that... That antique's shop belongs to a friend of the family and she already had used it as set for her gorgeous '22 cover of "My Funny Valentine" - I wonder if she had already been working on this cover when she recorded that video and gave us a hint no one but herself, her family and close friends could understand then... guess there's much more symbolism going on, this is just what I got... great reaction, thanks! More Angelina please!
@@dogzbestfrnd1 Sometimes we see what we want to see. I went back and stopped the video at where she is on the couch, and those are the same silver/gray high heel boots she walked in wearing. They are not blue.
Great reaction to the great artist, singer and actor Angelina Jordan, bearer of the light of the world in a rather dark period. I think the little girls in the video is supposed to represent younger versions of Angelina as she is growing into present times. The entire video is like entering a time-machine flipping us back in space and time to an era bypassed, but now relived, trough this masterpiece of images and sounds. Old classic furniture, at some time a treasured part of the owners life and surrounding is breathed back to existence for a brief moment, just like the music. Amazing and wonderful indeed!
Beautiful tribute to the King with the 68 Comeback special black leather and red guitar and blue suede shoes to Priscillas bee hive hair do. An amazing cover and tribute to the one and only King. He would be proud as we all are. Absolutely loved it.
I really admire your work, your passion for what you do! The emotion that Angelina and her talent generate hit you hard, as it does all of us. The intro of this song is already past and has already made history. The symbology will definitely be explained in these comments. You've already noticed Angelina's vocal quality, creativity and commitment to honor the original author, value the lyrics and basically tell another story, always valuing every moment with the colors and interpretation by Angelina Jordan.
Thanks for your awesome reaction & analysis of (16) Angie. She paid homage to Elvis, his wife (hair). This was filmed in the same place that she did “My funny valentine” at Melrose Gallery and Antiques in West Hollywood CA.
Beautiful analysis and commentary on this amazing Angelina video and reinterpretation of Elvis' classic! You ask for the symbolism behind the "plot" of the video. Well, there are lots of references to Elvis himself: the leather outfit, the red guitar, the beehive hairdo his wife Priscilla used and even Rob Christie's outfit is similar to the ones used by Elvis' backup singer. BTW, Rob is the piano player and helped with the arrangement of the song. He's also Republic Records (UMG) studio director, Angelina's record label. The song was arranged to bring back the true meaning of the song: a disfunctional couple's relationship with serious trust issues. Elvis took out all the true meaning of the song making it an upbeat rock anthem of sorts. In Angelina's version, you can really understand what the song is about, so cleverly setting the right atmosphere by starting with the bridge, going into the real intro of the song and then back to the bridge as the ending. The white dress... Angelina started singing in public at age 7 and continued her career using a white dress throughout her childhood. The girls in white dresses (her sister and two little cousins) are used to show Angelina's growth into the teenager or young woman she is now. At 16 she's now coming of age as a person and as an artist and I think she wanted to show that in this video. Also, at her recent performances at Allsang pa Grensen in Norway, yesterday. You should check that out!!! UNBELIEVABLE! I believe Angelina will be a super, super star when the time is right. She has been a well kept secret by her family allowing her to pursue her passion of singing but also emphazising the need to continue her studies and protecting her from the pressures of stardom until she was old enough to cope with it. Oops, seems I was carried away in my comment 😄
Yes, a lot of symbolism. The hairstyle is what Priscilla Presley wore. The black leather outfit and red guitar are a tribute to what Elvis wore on his comeback tour. The piano starts as Angelina removes the dust cover (dusting off old songs). Her little cousin represents the innocence we were all born with. Her other cousin, running around and looking up, represents the curiosity and wonder of discovering new things. Her sister Juliet, looking regal, sitting on an antique chair, represents hope and dreams of what she wants to be and where she wants to be (the music queen on her throne). And then Angelina, aged 16, looks like a rock star, as if to say. I've arrived and I belong here with the best. These are my performances. Anyway, in my eyes, Angelina is and has been a Superstar for a very long time. Thank you for your genuine reaction and analysis and I look forward to your next Angelina reaction video.
!What a voice....WOW. What a beautyful rendition, so majestic and impeccable. God bless her.. And of course I do apprecite your words concerning Angelina, She deserves all the attention due to her incredible talent which IMHO it's unique .
Great review. Yes she just keeps getting higher on the rung of being a legend in the making 👏. No bells and whistles no sex just AJ and her fantastic voice
I believe there's a ' symbolism ' of when she first swung the guitar around and strum the first chord...to me, it was paying homage to rockin roll, which Elvis was mostly remembered for...Great reaction my friend.
My interpretation of the symbolism of this music video: First, and foremost; Angelina Jordan at 16 is the epitome of a Storytelling ARTIST, and she has the ability to take us by the hand and lead us down an imaginary path that we visualize as reality. The remarkable fact is that we experience this in each of her performances. In this video we see her as a married woman in her mid to late 20s. As the video starts out, we see dishes, and it is a symbol of a home. As AJ sings the phrase “Were caught in a trap, I can’t walk out” we see 3 small children, this to me is a marriage where the children come first. If it were AJ by herself, she would not stay in a relation without trust.
AJ is bringing back us to back in time. Respecting Elvis and his timeless music 🎶. AJ is reintroducing the music with her emotional version. Thanks for your comments.
I thoroughly enjoyed your reaction and look forward to the next one. Angelina gave us a masterpiece here and I know it is only the beginning of what is to come! After watching your reaction, I will go watch the original video and subscribe to her official channel to support Angelina and to boost her algorithm. If all Angelina angels did the same, her algorithm would be enhanced and viewers would also be more motivated to support participating reaction channels. I encourage you to implement these guidelines so both the artist and your Channel will benefit.
Nice reaction, OLSC! I see Angelina's take on this song as a commentary about suspicion and mistrust in life being the end of innocence, not only for individuals but also for nations and organizations. The mirrors represent the world of illusions we've created for ourselves, leading to disappointment with the truth. Angelina Jordan schools us all again.
This was a great review YOSC! Loved everything you said. I'm not good at symbolism but this is a huge tribute to Elvis who was very flamboyant. The red guitar, black leather, chandeliers in his home at Graceland. Even Rob Christie, 2 time Grammy winner and studio director for Republic Records on piano was dressed very similar to what Elvis' band wore in his comeback concert 1968. I think the girls were to remind us of what Angelina "used" to be but she is no longer that little girl. I believe she is making a statement that she is now ready to take off be devoted 100% to her career and about to make that splash we've all been anticipating. She has hinted that her first album Republic Records will be released this year and if the songs on it are anything like this one we are in for a real treat! To me, this performance is a whole new Angelina, much more mature looking and sounding. Take care and hope to see you again soon!!
Thank you for reacting to this awesome performance by Angelina. We have seen Angelina as a beautiful child on NGT to become a Norwegian teenager as a Persian Goddess of beauty, what a transformation! There are no more words to describe the musical talent of the Barefoot Angel. It can't get better than this, unless Angelina arranges another gift for us.
I have watched this performance many times doing various reactors post . One of them mentioned all the plethora of symbolisms Angelina and her Grandmother Merry had in this video. They are both extremely artistically creative. I had only noticed up until then only the trappings that reflected the tribute to Elvis and his '68 come back tour. However after that comment I began to see things in the lyrics that, whether on purpose or just providence, that were quite astounding. The four scenes of the little girls all wearing the white dresses, some say are a metaphor of Angelina's rise to stardom and the fulfillment of her life time dreams as a very small child, of which she has fulfilled 99% them quite quickly in her short time here and I quite agree with that observation. But I began to notice something in the words of the song as each scene of the little girls in white dresses girls were shown, which was seemingly planned by some one for sure. The first one, a very small baby sitting in a big chair if which she no doubt could not get out on her own and she was grabbing something with her left hand that looked like some kind of restraint to hold her down from falling out . The lyrics sung for this scene was, " Caught in a trap" The next one shows a little older girl whom evidently who just learned to walk and was kind of unsure of her steps walking and the lyrics sung " I cant walk out ". Then the next one shows the little girl spinning around and kind of looking around and the lyrics " Why can't you see what you are doing to me" . Then the scene changes to show a little older girl going around with her head up and looking around, you can see her hair is not as curly as the previous little girl who spinning around before. ( P.S. this third girl turning around and looking up may have well been her little sister whom was sitting in the chair at the end of these scenes). Then there is an much older little girl (her sister) in a white dress again sitting in a chair as the baby was in then first scene , she was looking down and raised her head as the lyrics said, "when you don't believe a word I say" and then she raises her head with a smile as if to say with a look I don't believe what you say. Angelina and her Grandmother are Rembrandt's of video and and Angelina of vocal artistry .
If you notice this was produced by Angelina’s grandmother Mery Zamani aka Mosarz world renowned poet and artist, anytime Mery can film her granddaughters she’s does, they were there to symbolize Angelina’s progression, thing to note up until Angelina was 10 or 11 she performed in either a white dress or white pants suit and she has been on stages and tv shows all over the world (I think her original Shield was the first time Angelina wore anything other than white) hairdo, black leathers , red guitar and not sure but I think her boots were blue suede. Evan before she started playing the guitar there was a shot with the guitar neck of it pointing down classic Elvis. As far as the antique shop goes ( she also shot my funny valentine their) might be a friends. According to her, mom and grandma did the set . The video is unique in that it had a producer, cinematographer, director, gaffer and Rob Christie a Grammy winner pianist who has since she signed with republic records been featured in almost all her videos.
angelina is uncovering something old and making it new again in her special way of visualizing a song in a completely new and wonderful way for us to enjoy . i am so looking forward to her new album out soon .
I agree to your comments about the emotions. I read the video as contrasting the open wonder and innocence of children against the closed suspician and distrust of the lyrics. I have always loved her warm low notes.
This is the best reaction you've ever done ..I loved it! I think Angelina energy and her voice .. everything .. got you going! ok .. symbolism .. taking sheets of furniture could be uncovering the past .. she's wearing a black leather outfit outfit as an homage to Elvis and her hair is an homage to Priscilla, who wore her hair like that in the 60s. (She had to include both of them since the song is about relationship.) The red guitar is the guitar Elvis used in the iconic 1968 tour. I think the kids (first two are her little cousins and the third is her sister Juliette.) represent being stuck .. she can't walk out . The red outfit on our fabulous Rob Christie playing the piano I believe was what Elvis' band wore on the 1968 tour. The whole set is like their very fancy Graceland .. the mirror represents a mirror .. so she remembers she's not really Elvis .. 😊 mmm .. oh .. on the couch when she's talking about an old friend coming to visit she's got blue suede boots or slippers .. Grandma Mery has scsttered her artistic magic dust all over that set to feel like Graceland. phew! was that enough? not all of it is "symbolic" but more like an homage to Elvis. ok then .. let's watch it again! 😮 I must admit I've watched it now perhaps over 50 times! I love it so much .. and.. I've caught up with all the reactors ... so ok .. the end.
As you go through your Angelina journey you will discover she has an innate ability to convey the emotion of the songs she sings. She is going to hit you in the feels more times than not. Her ability to convey emotion has as much to do with the love her fans have for her as anything else. That's something she has been able to do from the start and the older she gets the better at it she becomes. The development of her vocal ability just provides her with more tools to do that with and she uses those tools most effectively. You might notice that her singing isn't showy or anything like that. She doesn't belt or riff just to do it. She does it because the emotion of the song requires it. she injects emotion into a song when, where, and how it is needed and is appropriate. P.S. Consider putting "I’m still holding out for you" on your list of Angelina songs. Why not see what a 10 year old can do.
thank you for your great review and professional insight. Much thoughtful interpretation by Angelina. I think the visuals have more to do with Angelina and her life as others point out, and she takes elements of Elvis's life to tell her story. Once again I appreciate your insight on Angelina's rich talent!
She's a wonderful singer!!! Love her interpretation of this song. A genius singer become better and better.... In to your channel for her.Love her voice so much and she's so beautuful. Thank you so much.. 😊
Sincere is a great word. Angelina sings the truth, and we believe. The children in the video serves as examples of the non suspicious minds. Its a strong message of love
Angelina Jordan is an ORACLE Oracles have existed in human form in every culture around the world. Many are still noted in our time, such as the Oracles at Delphi in Greece, the Chief Oracle of Tibet, and the Oracles of ancient Egypt, but there are countless examples. They are the remnants in our minds of a time in which we all remembered. How else can we explain the hypnotic effect this creature has on all who dare experience her?
What can be said about Angelina. Prodigy. Greatness. Stunning. Yes, there are no words that can adequately describe Angelina. Words have not yet been invented to describe what she is or will become. We will just have to accept her greatness without words. She is ahead of us all.
Angelina slowed this song down and made it her own . The King would have enjoyed this version. By the way the leather pantsuit and the red guitar were a nod to Elvis's comeback tour and the hairstyle was a nod to Elvis's wife Priscilla because that was how she wore her hair at the time . I don't know if there was any symbolism with the three girls in white , however the two younger ones were her cousins and the older one was her sister Juliette who has appeared in a few of Angelina's video's . Of course this video was produced by her Grandma Mery , with The Barefoot Princess it is always a Family Affair.
This expresses my conversations with my x husband. My running around was food shopping and babysitting. Ugh- first I’ve heard a female singing this song and it just hurts my heart.
I am an 84 yr old fanboy of Angelinas'. You made a comment about how she makes her songs her own. Theres a word for that, She takes a song and " Angelinaizes " lt. It is incredible. Love that girl and her wonderful family. I am so bummed that I won't be here to see her become the greatest singer of all time.
The red jump suite was what Elvis backup singers wore in his Vagas comeback special ,but the greatest part about this video was Angelina's powerful voice .I really enjoyed your reaction because they seam honest and real
Republic Records should release this song as a single so people would hear the power in her voice now. That opening first few words take your breath away.
When her grandmother Mary Zemani is executive producer then you know it will be artistic and full of symbols. I see her use of her cousins and her sister as a symbol of herself growing up with the music of Elvis.
I enjoyed your reaction and loved that you played it twice! Thanks. .. and yes .. the deliciousness of the first part when she starts singing is a delight.
The seat and mirror that she uncovers were in the 'My Funny Valentine' video, which was filmed 'seflie style' in the same store. The three girls are related, the baby and toddler are her cousins and the older girl is her little sister, they represent Angelina's growing up when she performed mainly in white. The black outfit, guitar and hairstyle are a nod to Elvis and Priscilla Presley.
Angelina is a story teller. The hair is from Priscila Presley! (not Amy). Grandma Mery Zamani was the producer and found a way to include her 4 granddaughters! Rob Christie plays Grammy winning piano performance. Love your reaction. This is what you want your students to strive for. 🍁
Great tribute to the King ❤️ I struggle to understand the thinking of Amy Whinehouse hair... it is an Elvis cover so it must be a Prizilla tribute... the beehive hair.. A beautiful cover and she made it totally different. It sounded like a new song ❤️
Heavenly Pure Soul ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️ I’m So Lucky to Have Had Angelina She’s Sing like an Angel Voices From the Heavenly.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ I’m So Fuller an enjoy your Energy🤩 Thank You
my thoughts Angelina Cayman granted with blue suede boots she also had the black leather jumpsuit that's all of us the red guitar that was his and then come back of 1968 concert her hairstyle is in memory or as I say in homage to Priscilla Presley that is the way Priscilla always walk her hair who font s and such the little girls is Angelina's cousins the last girl is Angelina's sister now I take those as the growing of Lisa Presley oh this is daughter Elvis missed all those Milestones during his toys and then this is just mines is did Elvis stray away from his marriage during those tours just a thought but I think he said it perfectly in the song I haven't my cheer thank you for a great reaction and if you didn't catch it Angelina was barefooted as she sang She is a woman of her words she turned 16 this past January and at 16 years and 16 years at 6 years of age she found another little girl made promises Angela made the promise of not wearing shoes until all the children of the world are with shoes and the little girl and Afghanistan that she met praised Angelina all her days again thank you for your reaction
I don't want to say she sang it better than the original because I love Elvis version and to me it was Elvis best and I am not a fan of slow songs but I believe this song should be sang exactly with this tempo which angelina did and that shows how genious and musical understanding angelina is at such a young age great reaction as always darling 👍👍💙💙💙
Alert! New Angilina Jordan release. I will always love you, by Whitney Houston. Awesome, a must see! Even her dress is out of this world. Just released Today. This concert is live on TV so a lot of people are watching. See you on the next one. 🇺🇲😎👍💯🌟
Hear, hear!
That's exactly how I Interpreted it.
Great comment, Phil. 👍👍
she sings, i cry.
Angelina is the best ever performer!
I couldn't have said better
That is the best interpretation of the symbolism in the video that I've read so far. I doubt it will be bettered and with your permission I would like to copy it to my Angelina notes, please.
@@pierremasse4659 thank you
@@alberttenfoot thank you. Those were my thoughts when I first saw the video. Others might see things differently. you are welcome to copy my observations and use them if you feel the same way.

Love it, David!
She is the best
Love your reactions of Angelina.
My reaction to the beginning of Angelina's cover was like "An uppercut from Mike Tyson" and I was down for this masterpiece of this cover.
You gotta see dramatic and strength from her with a black-and-white version I put a spell on you
I'd been an English teacher - and symbolism was my life, so to speak.
🙂
I like this singing coach, her process of reviewing the song twice, plus she’s cute!
She gives us the truth of this song. No hiding it under a party dance.
She is greater than any female singer out there today even at this age. The versatility and her voice is amazing.
No, she's not.
Than ANY singer. Can a male singer transmit more meaning and emotion from a song?
@@OldBoiler62 Yes, she is.
@@OldBoiler62 LOL okay that is your opinion even though it is wrong.

As always, a great comment, Andy.
If you like, this is of yesterday, her new version of "I Have Nothing" (Allsang på Grensen 2022). Amazing how much this girl has improved on this song ... she changed it in her own splendid way and now she has absolutely no trouble with the breath. 😂

And the way she looks in that blue formal dress is breathe taking!
@@wajj1842 The Frozen's princess 😍
Spot on.
The symbolism was Angelina paying respect to Elvis. She researches her covers.
Genius to use the bridge as the intro and outro, and especially with the mystical arrangement that Rob Christie plays, a blending of two perfections!
@@lewisrick55 They are becoming so in sync it's scary.
Those opening notes are unequaled in all of pop music. No other singer in the world could come close.
Great catch in your spotting the Blue Suede at about 3:12. I haven't seen anyone else here mention that and I certainly missed it.
@@KieranSaighir 😘
You don't have to be an Elvis fan to love this performance. Except for the lyrics, it's nothing like the original. For me, it's much better.
(1) Oh let our love survive
I'll dry the tears from your eyes
Let's don't let a good thing die
When honey, you know I've never lied to you
(2) We're caught in a trap
I can't walk out
Because I love you too much baby
(3) Why can't you see
What you're doing to me
When you don't believe a word I say?
(4) We can't go on together
With suspicious minds
And we can't build our dreams
On suspicious minds
(5) So, if an old friend I know
Stops by to say hello
Would I still see suspicion in your eyes?
(6) Here we go again
Asking where I've been
You can't see these tears are real
I'm crying
(Yes, I'm crying)
(7) We can't go on together
With suspicious minds
And we can't build our dreams
On suspicious minds
(8) Oh let our love survive
I'll dry the tears from your eyes
Let's don't let a good thing die
When honey, you know I've never lied to you
Thank you Albert… it took me this long to find this video and is a pleasure to read your comment!
I send you my appreciation and happy energy. It’s always good to see a comment from you in this journey with Angelina!
I feel privileged to be able just to switch on my laptop and listen to something so truly amazing. She never ever ceases to impress and lift my soul.
Yeah she doing a Concert in Norway this month!
❤❤❤

Angelina Jordan Astar, for me she is the best singer of the last 50 years. Her voice touches my heart and cleanses my soul.
Another reviewer/reactor also noticed a hint of her "blue suede shoes" when she was sitting on the couch.
And then add to that the red jumpsuit that Rob Christie was wearing, reminiscent of Elvis' band at las Vegas.
@@dogzbestfrnd1 Sometimes we see what we want to see. I went back and stopped the video at where she is on the couch, and those are the same silver/gray high heel boots she walked in wearing. They are not blue.
I wanna be a friend of that family!😂

Please!!! She is growing up right before your eyes!!!!
Thanks for your awesome reaction & analysis of (16) Angie. She paid homage to Elvis, his wife (hair). This was filmed in the same place that she did “My funny valentine” at Melrose Gallery and Antiques in West Hollywood CA.
Genius to use the bridge as the intro and outro, and especially with the mystical arrangement that Rob Christie plays, a blending of two perfections!
In the future, I would suggest you remind me and all of your viewers to watch the original video and subscribe to the artist channel using links you provide in your description. If all Angelina angels did the same, her algorithm would be enhanced and viewers would also be more motivated to support participating reaction channels. I encourage you to implement these guidelines so both the artist and your Channel will benefit.
Her raven hair, blue eyes, alto sultry voi e...she is like a re-incarnation of all the late superstars. Magnificent!!
love your honest heartfelt reaction. love angelina and your reactions. think ill watch again
Thanks for a great reaction and analysis. Alexa was so excited she just had to jump in too!
The lyrics sung for this scene was, " Caught in a trap"
The next one shows a little older girl whom evidently who just learned to walk and was kind of unsure of her steps walking and the lyrics sung " I cant walk out ".
A hug with her voice.
I couldn’t have put it any better.
Best reaction I've heard/seen so far.....
Angelina growing up these were her

I must admit I've watched it now perhaps over 50 times! I love it so much .. and.. I've caught up with all the reactors ... so ok .. the end.
patricia You've watched it over 50 times, yet you're still fooled into believing she's wearing blue suede boots???? She isn't.
Did you catch the Blue Suede Shoes? Angelina always respects the artists that she covers. I love her.

I never listened to Elvis. The way angelina sings it makes it so nice pleasant
If i thought it was an Elvis song I would never listen to it.
Outstanding!
Thank you for your wonderful reaction! She always make you feel, so emotional. Her voice is beyond magical!🌟🙏😀❤️
thank you for your great review and professional insight.
She has become a true professional. Who ever was playing the piano is very good. I am waiting to see her on TV.
Angelina Jordan is an ORACLE
Oracles have existed in human form in every culture around the world.
She brought tears to my eyes...from an old Navajo who grew up listening to the "King"...!
Really great reaction. I have enjoyed your journey.
I normally have only one thing to say.
You are so loved AJ 😍❤💕
Angelina makes you feel every word no one in the world/universe has this ability.
Magic voix
Angelina is a story teller. The hair is from Priscila Presley! (not Amy). Grandma Mery Zamani was the producer and found a way to include her 4 granddaughters! Rob Christie plays Grammy winning piano performance. Love your reaction. This is what you want your students to strive for. 🍁
Appreciate you losing sleep at 2.45am to bring us this very wonderful reactions that we get to enjoy!
Amazing wow wow wow. What else can I say.
Very smooth on the ears, this rendition of the song. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
Great tribute to the King ❤️ I struggle to understand the thinking of Amy Whinehouse hair... it is an Elvis cover so it must be a Prizilla tribute... the beehive hair.. A beautiful cover and she made it totally different. It sounded like a new song ❤️
Heavenly Pure Soul ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
I’m So Lucky to Have Had Angelina She’s Sing like an Angel Voices From the Heavenly.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I’m So Fuller an enjoy your Energy🤩
Thank You
Yes, that strong opening phrase really grabs you and embraces you, strong and delicate at the same time...that is the special AJ ingredient...
Wonderful reaction! Thank you so much ❤️ Angel-ina you are truly my guardian Angel. ❤️
"People come and go in your life... But the right ones will alway's stay.!!!" - Ms. Angelina Jordan "Magical Vocalist & Songwriter + Music Producer"
my thoughts Angelina Cayman granted with blue suede boots she also had the black leather jumpsuit that's all of us the red guitar that was his and then come back of 1968 concert her hairstyle is in memory or as I say in homage to Priscilla Presley that is the way Priscilla always walk her hair who font s and such the little girls is Angelina's cousins the last girl is Angelina's sister now I take those as the growing of Lisa Presley oh this is daughter Elvis missed all those Milestones during his toys and then this is just mines is did Elvis stray away from his marriage during those tours just a thought but I think he said it perfectly in the song I haven't my cheer thank you for a great reaction and if you didn't catch it Angelina was barefooted as she sang She is a woman of her words she turned 16 this past January and at 16 years and 16 years at 6 years of age she found another little girl made promises Angela made the promise of not wearing shoes until all the children of the world are with shoes and the little girl and Afghanistan that she met praised Angelina all her days again thank you for your reaction
It is quite obvious, you are tuned on to this extraordinary genius, and I appreciate every word that you have stated.
