Thanks, this is helpful. I am about to move from Atlanta to Raleigh North Carolina for my job. They are only paying 2 weeks at a hotel until I find something. After that I am on my own.
Glad it was helpful! Also, if your looking for room shares/ lease takeovers FB marketplace is a good resource. Obviously be careful. FaceTime , go see. Make sure the process is done through the apartment complex etc but when I first moved here, I did a lease takeover then a actual lease. Good luck !
The tip to Google reviews was priceless. People might argue that residents mostly post the worst comments. To be frank, it helped filter out the red flags that mattered to me the most. Thank you, Aminah!
I'm renting an apartment for the first time and I get to choose something I love instead of whatever's cheapest. Never had that luxury before! Thanks for making the process feel simple :)
when you talk to a resident you get their name as a lot of places give a finders fee for resident and for you i.e. resident gets $250 for recommending you and you also get $250 off rent with signed lease of 6 or 12 months or whatever. most applications will have how did you hear about us and thats the spot to put the tenants name in so you both get a discount or whatever. maybe not all states do this nbut washington state does at every place that i have been to rent.
yes 8:10 that is one of the reasons why I was watching this video because I feel like i'm not asking the right questions and looking for the proper things in my apartment search. Your guide is very good about only showing you what they want to show you and want you to see
It can be so overwhelming but you got this! Happy to help. Maybe this video will also help, Questions to ask when touring apartments/things to look out for: ruclips.net/video/mz6MeBt2tyc/видео.htmlsi=iUCRPQhan6OqT6_Z
While im hunting i always ask neighbors what they think about the neighborhood or complex... I've gotten unenthusiastic remarks and knew to avoid those places.
this was helpful, one tip I would give is to pay attention to that maintenance crew! if they give low energy from the beginning (tours etc.) they won't be much help when you need repairs and efficient assistance.
I love the school zone check feature! It’s pretty up to date for school ratings. Saved my life in Maryland where your quality of education is dictated by your location
Thanks for watching & congrats! 🎊 Zumper , liv.rent and rentseeker.ca are additional helpful websites to search for Toronto apartments. You can apply the same tips as far as using Google to see reviews etc . Good luck!
I know I took forever to respond, I finally made a detailed video: ruclips.net/video/mz6MeBt2tyc/видео.html . I hope this helps! Good luck on your move.
Thanks! Some apartments have virtual videos and/or floor plan pictures on their website. You can also call the leasing office and ask if one of their agents can text you a video . But they may not be as receptive. Definitely use apartments.com get a list of apartments you like and head to the website.
@@andresaviles2428 Miami does not have a "go to" website or app in my opinion, there are apartments listed on most platforms. But I have had really good luck on Trulia and Zillow. That is apart from apartments.com.
I’m sorry, I do not unfortunately. Maybe try googling those exact words “ low income housing for adults in ____ “ (the city or state you want to move to) then call/email to find out what you need to qualify and the next steps to take.
Red flags when looking initially are: bad google reviews/pictures from residence, older buildings(some can be poorly maintained), street view on Google shows trash on the streets or extra sketchy neighborhood: eg. gas stations, liquor stores.
