@@lillianlilo7447 how much of the “murder rate” was people who actually defended themselves. Murder rate and gun violence are two different statistics. As someone who was sexually assaulted two years ago I rather be able to me my first responder and be empowered as a woman rather than wait for the cops to show it when it’s already late. I am from NJ and we have so much crime in general but we have a lot of gun violence and we have the whole most corrupt government that says that only people with political power can get a conceal carry license. These super stringent gun laws do not save lives they disarm law abiding citizens who are more than capable of making the decision to defend themselve with a fire. Additionally we have castle doctrine and stand your ground laws which allows citizens to defend themselves in their own homes. I feel more safe here than I do in New Jersey and I know more people are armed.
Criminals do not care about gun laws. They will still obtain guns illegally and commit crimes.
Also at least in America we can defend our rights and constitution with the second amendment. We can fight against a tyrannical government here in the US because of the 2nd amendment but I can’t say the same for Australia.
I urge you to take some gun education. If you ever come to america specifically the west, Midwest or south it would be wise to educate yourself on guns vs what is seen on Hollywood.
