The show pays for the dresses and I’m sure they weren’t gonna pay for a venue that’s extravagant. As far as the dress attire I personally wouldn’t care if they wore jeans and t shirts, but that’s just me.

Boy, this sure brings back some cherished memories of my own wedding.
For instance: I can remember as though it was yesterday that in the final moments leading up to the ceremony, my old man put his arm around my shoulder, and gave me some of the best fatherly advice I ever got:
*"If nothing else, be sure to remember this one simple thing: lead in with two or three-- but NOT more than three-- stiff left jabs before throwing the straight reverse or the hook with your right. Rotate your hips and shoulders to recruit more of your musculature and body mass for increased power...but not TOO much, as that will telegraph your strikes and leave you open to counter-punches. Also: don't even bother with messing around and trying to land head-level roundhouse kicks; anything above the chest is just show-boating, and will also leave you vulnerable for a counter..."*
Actually, the one wildly-unexpected "Holy shit" moment at my wedding was when one of my groomsmen-- my eldest nephew Sean-- suddenly passed out and did a face-plant on the altar, almost hitting the priest on the way down. Turns out Father Dowling-- yes, that was his ACTUAL name, and yes I am aware that Tom Bosley played a priest in the TV series "Father Dowling Mysteries," but I digress-- was a bit more agile than he looked.
At least three different people with military experience-- my brother the career Marine, my Dad the career soldier, and me who did a four-year stint in the Corps awhile back-- told him to take care and not lock his knees, but...oh, well.
Luckily, my sister-in-law was a trauma nurse, so she was able to quickly triage him and determine that he was perfectly fine apart from being visibly embarrassed. Once that was sorted out, he got "benched"...or "pewed," I suppose...for the remainder of the ceremony which was soon back on track.
Funny thing is: he did me a huge favor. I never imagined I'd be experiencing so much anxiety about somehow possibly screwing something up; after all, I'm just taking directions from the priest, right? Not so, however. Luckily, once we got going again I was TOTALLY chill because at that moment I knew I wasn't the center of attention. The only other bump in the road was when I kept trying to slip the wrong on the wrong finger...whereupon my bride would move hand to line up the correct finger...whereupon I'd shift back towards the wrong finger...whereupon she'd shift again. For a brief moment or so, it looked like we were re-enacting the historic docking of Soyuz with Skylab back in the 's via pantomime.
