Some of these musicians, artists, and composers are no longer with us, but boy, did they leave something timeless and classic for us to enjoy for millennium.
You had to be there in that reference of time when it was released. What a marvelous time to be alive.
💐God is still with us.💐🥰💐🤗💐
One day, we will have a conversation about a subject and talk about the topic without God and Jesus being injected.
I'm not proselytizing. The subject was music.
@claydobbins9342 "There is a message in the music." - Kenneth Gamble
I dedicated this song to my daughter shortly after she was born in 1978. She recently went home to be with our lord and savior. I'm happy for her, but I miss her so much.
🙏🏽🧡
Rest in peace to your Princess...
My condolences 🙏
Your baby girl is gone but never forgotten. Peace be with you.
@Jack Todd Very sorry for your loss.
My oldest daughter was also born in 78. I did the same. My second flower was born in 85. I don't know how to handle such a loss. My hart goes to you. God bless!!
God is with you and your family.❤💐
I love this song.
Me2❤
Such a haunting song! It's deep! In my opinion the best one on the album. And that ending!
What a great love ballad that only TP could sing and melt your heart with his soulful voice. . This recording never got the exposure it deserved from many Radio Stations in the 1970's.
@tarik blair Many radio stations back in the day really missed out on this beautiful gem. It truly deserved much airplay then. Forever RIP Teddy P.
I wouldn't trade growing up in the seventies for nothing. 2022 and this is a killer jam still.
It's October 2022 and Teddy's powerful vocals and the music by MFSB make this another classic TSOP killer jam.
This is what's missing in young peoples hearts so we can't hear this type of music anymore. These are sad times🤷
Back in 1975 i dedicated 'Pretty Flower' to my HS girlfriend cuz I thought it was soo pretty..She barely said thanks..the song never touched her Heart...we lasted 5 years...never made it thru the 6th year..that Pretty Flower wilted. I still love this song.
Tears flow when I listen to this song.
Yeah man
I purchased this album just before we were deployed on Brigade 75-II to the F.R.G.(Federal Republic of Germany) in September '75. I'd been assigned to Charlie Company 1/66 Armor, 2D A.D. Ft. Hood, TX & was broken hearted. My 1st "True Love" had turned me down after I was hoping to be reunited with her. Sitting in those hot barracks & listening to this song reminded me of her & of our relationship. It seemed as if T.P. was singing the exact words & feelings which I'd said & felt to her on 27 May 1975. It took me some time to get over that pain of loss, but I did. As the lyrics state so plaintively, I would have done anything she'd have asked me to do, because she was & will forever be... My "Pretty Flower".
SUCH IS THE POWER OF MUSIC TO HEAL AND GET US THRU.

So much emotion in Teddys voice🙌🏾🧡🥰
This group at its time and his days was the most romantic speed and to the point of love cuz they were the big elegant intelligent African-American groups that ever were among here
One of TP's best recordings! Gamble & Huff's too! Thanks mom and dad for playing this album during my most impressionable Black music education years!
Every once and a while I need my spirit filled with the power of real music and I come back to the source .

Harold Melvin And The Blue Notes Pretty Flowers
For all you "Crooner Player Haters", before Gangsta Rap, and "Booty and BJ" lyrics, there was REAL MUSIC like this, that worked the woman's "mind", first. Might be a lost art, with some of this current set. RIP Teddy, the smooth original Blue Notes, w/ Harold Melvin of course. Smooth Grove, Old School Music Rules, forever
💐For my baby💐

So your saying only Teddy no other group member sung on this album
@@toddmitchell7701
Yes.
Gamble & Huff brought in
Harold Melvin occasionally,
but he and the other Bluenotes didn’t sing on the albums.
It was only Teddy,
Gamble & Huff,
Bunny Sigler,
and
McFadden & Whitehead.
