Dr. Manjula Anagani, a well-known gynaecologist and obstetrician, saw the merits of the procedure especially in women’s health. Manjula Anagani, MD, FICOG is the Head of the Department, Chief Gynaecologist, Obstetrician, Infertility Specility and Laparoscopic Surgeon at Maxcure Hospitals (old Sunshine Super Speciality Institute), Madhapur,Hitech City, Hyderbad. After nearly two decades of pursuing her passion and developing several new techniques in the field of laparoscopic surgery the doctor has been selected for one of the highest civilian honours, the Padma Shri. Manjula also received the prestigious Indian Affairs Indian of the Year 2016 - Medicine (Obs and Gynae) in Mumbai at Satya Brahma founded India Leadership Conclave 2016.
Manjula has completed her MD in obstetrics and gynecology from Osmania Medical College, following which she underwent training in prenatal genetic evaluation, infertility, ultrasonography and in minimally invasive procedures (hysteroscopy and laparoscopy). Dr Manjula Anagani pioneered the art of laparoscopy in late 90s when it was an emerging technology.
Her achievements include working on ergonomics of woman and evolving newer techniques in laparoscopy and minimal invasive surgery. She came up with a new entry technique to make the surgery less complicated and easier for the surgeon. Since then she has performed more than 10,000 laparoscopic surgeries in gynecology catapulting her at the top slot in the State and one among the few leading laparoscopic surgeons in India.
