- On this episode of Mad Ginger Customs Jess gets some work done on her 1964 Ford F100. We are hoping to get this thing road worthy. This truck was dragged home in pieces. We get some cooling issues fixed and get a nasty intake leak finally fixed. Is it enough to get it on the road?

That "Victory Lap" was epic! Doing "90" on 7 cylinders (2-stroke) with brakes that work on only ONE wheel. BwaHahaha What a fun project!
This truck has sat ever since lol. I bought a motor and trans for it. It will hurt feelings if I actually throw it in.
Best pair of overalls ive seen on youtube yet
Yesssssss! 😂
I ran a smoker for years. Somehow it became my nickname.
It'll get you where you need to go, just remember to check the gas and fill the oil.
We'll keep it topped off!
You’re lucky to have a lady that shares your hobbies and looks amazing doing it😊
She's a good sport helping in the videos!
Aww thanks! I'm really trying to learn something too! 😊
Teach her right. She's learning well.
She's a good student.
Interesting. First time seeing you. Thank you for sharing. 💯👍
Thanks for checking out our video!
Did not expect topics ranging from thongs to screwdrivers embedded in houses. It might be fun to clip Jess saying scary around 31:37, sad face Jess around 35:44 and insert them into future videos. I appreciate the variety of content, Thank you that.
Noted! I will clip them! Thanks for watching!
Lucas will clean your top rings add to the tank it will work in the end give it a go 👍🏻⛽️🇦🇺💯.
Thanks for the tip!
The pillow is going over your head tonight while you sleep Ginger. Jess is going to be sure and pay the life insurance policy up, then it’s all over for you 😂😂😂. Seriously though, what a great gal. Happy 4 th folks.👍👍🇨🇦
😂😂😂😂 thanks for watching our videos!
Dan, she loves serial killers documentaries! I'm in danger.
@@madgingercustoms sleep with one eye open brother lol
@@MadGingerJess it is my pleasure. Oh and don’t kill him, he just doesn’t know any better lol.
@@danobrien3109we've been together for almost 30 years now. If I haven't done it yet good chance I won't be! 😂😂😂
Id just pull the engine snd put rings and bearing in it, timing chain and a valve job.
You can try a 50/50 min of acetone and atf in the cylinders to free up the rings, i use that on inboard boat engines. let it soak about a week with the plugs in, then crank it and blow it out.
I think we are swapping the drivetrain from our 66 into the 64 and throwing a disc setup on it.
Greta's people are on the way but running late. They had to stop to recharge their batteries.😂😂
Heh!! Awesome.
😂😂😂😂
@madgingercustoms I'm a very moderate tree-hugger. There's this thing called Wisconsin winter. God bless the Tavern League.🍻🍺🍺
How dare you?!!! 🤣😂
@vayabroder729 the Gen-X in me says "Awesome!! Don't trust anyone over 30". Then I realize... I AM OVER 30 and reality sets in.
Love your videos, just an observation... at 27:30 you were standing next to the cement post with a ring you have two of those, did you know they were used to tie your horse a buggie to. Okay, love your mods and ideas.
Yes! Our house is an 1800's saltbox replica including those posts. Thanks for watching our video!
@@MadGingerJess same with me grow up in a home built in 1800 in western N.Y. Your videos are better than watching Joe Rogan.
Good.job😄👍👍👏👏cool. Truck F100❤.
Thanks!
Another great episode showing real life with old vehicles when you do not have an unlimited budget.
Amen!
Thanks for checking it out!
You guys are funny! I loved the way you complained about the sun burning the back of your neck. I changed the fuel lines and fuel filter on my 72 C20 this morning and it was already like working on a barbeque grill. If you want to work on your vehicles outside after 10AM in Texas you have to wear welding gloves. My brother-in-law used to wear sandals working on his vehicles until he dropped the armature out of Dodge starter on his big toe. I didn't know a toe could bleed that much. One other small thing, as you were driving Jess's truck I could see daylight in a small hole behind your head, better patch it up before the monsoons start. I really enjoy your videos, thanks for taking the time to make them.
Fun fact, this used to be a fire station brush truck. A tree fell on that corner. Someone hammered it out crudely. Jess loves the character of the wrinkles and refuses to let me hammer it out properly. I will seam seal the joint though!!
so you said u said its a fail don't worry Jess has the couch all ready with a pillow and a blanket nice and comfy just for you and yes i am having a blast typing this
As long as you are enjoying it!!
hehe i am going to have fun with that shot you should have given her a light smack oh yes and the challenge is to replace the intake gaskets WITHOUT removing the intake manifold it can be done but it will leak i learned that is shop class bobby was a joker at times but a damn good teacher
The gaskets use the studs unfortunately. You have to pull it or cut out the gasket.
Looking forward to the next video have a great Independence Day 🎉🎉
Thanks! Not sure what we're doing next.....
NO NO NO! not a 302 lets swap the flat head v8 shoe box into the truck hahahah sorry i just couldn't resist hey more work for you and great videos for the rest of you and yes i know i am such a nice guy and yes if i saw Jess i would stop and help
Lol imagine that flatty in the truck. That would be hilarious.
@@madgingercustoms YES! then put the 302 in the shoe box the trick would be doing it without Jess knowing it until the big reveal hmm your videos are contagious ah if only to be young again hahahah
Hi guys Thank you for the new video
Is it safe for you ginger guys to go out in the sun? 😊
Nice to see Jess joining in again Cya on the next one 👍👍
It is safe but only in small doses! 😊. Thanks for watching!
@@MadGingerJess Don;t want you to frizzle up now Be careful
At this point everyone should do it moderately.
We are legit, burnt. Lol
@@madgingercustoms I admire your commitment to your fans putting your gingerness at risk Thank you so much you guys are fun ❤❤
Another great video from the DYNAMIC DUO !!! I think once you drive it , it'll come around in terms of any smoke you are getting . It didn't look to be smoking badly from a viewers perspective. This is by no means a fail !!
Really enjoy seeing you guys working together . You both are really great people. Keep 'em coming !!!
Aww thank you! And I love that- the Dynamic Duo!
It will be on the road soon. We aren't giving up on it. Disc conversion, more tuning, catch can.
Look at Jess go! Great video y’all.
Thanks for checking it out!
Nice to have your garage next to the Sun !! Great video, I laugh til I bleed! Please keep it up. Thanks.
Jess doesn't like to work in the garage. She says the lighting isn't good. We are both crispy now!!
Shade Tree Mechanic comes to mind.....
I would’ve flushed the radiator first before filling it up just to play it safe. You never know what could be lodged in it. Don’t worry about that little smoke; it doubles as a mosquito control device. We enjoy your adventures. Thank you.
That is solid advice. Flushing it first is a great idea. I have some ideas for the smoke. We'll see how it goes after I fix the brakes properly.
A new coyote crate motor will take care of your issues.
You can pick one up with all the coffee $$ you get.
That'd be a ton of coffee!!
Whoever is complaining about your sandals has never watch Sleeperdude. 🤣🤣 down south we run the weed eater in shorts and flip flops.
Josh welds and cuts metal in flip flops!! Lol. He knows how to party!
And his younger daughter walks around the garage with no shoes at all! 😂
Run Lucas in your fuel ⛽️ tank it will make a big difference .
I am a fan of Lucas products!
I've stopped to help anyone on the side of for was a mechanic for forty plus years
Great video you guys!
Thank you!
Keep up the great content!
We will try! Thanks for watching!
another great vid guys and yes id help jess
Thanks for checking out another video!! We appreciate it!
Are you sure that is a 312? Ford offered a 292 Y block in the 1964 F100. Anyway it was a great Video, nice to see you two working side by side!
I never said it was a 312. It's a 292. I think the 312 were T bird motors.
Sorry I thought I heard you say 312, my mistake…
next time put a stud or two in the cylinder heads to line up the bolt holes for the manifold.
Will do!! Thanks
@2.37 I just feel like we are lifelong friends. I appreciate your presentation and both of you for your light hearted yet hard working nature. I'll let you do a search, but I wonder if there are OSHA approved men's thong undies with Kevlar? Safety first.
Safety first indeed!! Lol
😂😂😂😂😂
I bet a few good heat cycles would bring the rings/valves back around, and make her run a bit better. I'm sure it's basically fine
I'm sure hoping it comes around. She'd love to drive it.
Awesome job both of you and Jess love the new video keep it up
Thanks for checking out our videos!
Thank you!
@@MadGingerJess your very much welcome
My guy🙏
Thanks Kyle!
Jess, wouldn't you feel much cooler in shorts and a crop top?😊
Absolutely but I think leaning over the truck in those would be dangerous! 😂😂
I keep telling her that!
If I seen Jess on the side of the road flagging me down, I'd expect to get ambushed by you if I stopped!
😂😂😂😂
5:42, 9:26, 9:31 ❤
She's something else huh?
Great job guy's at least it runs ok hay 🥵🥵
Well it runs.... Lol
thinking of doing the seat cover thing on my ram 1500 look foward to seeing whats next with this truck
The seat cover is surprisingly comfy!
Yeah it's decent but I'm not sure it will be very durable.
@@madgingercustoms better than them store bought ones
see how your spending your long weekend , Ive use the Amazon/ jungle rads ...works okay , did ya ever find any Penatrol Flood ?
It is available locally. Thanks for the suggestion.
I want to see Jess, pop a wheelie!!! I think she can do it, hahaha!!!
We may need more hp for that!
Idk if that has a proportioning valve? I could be stuck sending fluid only to the rear.
It doesn't unfortunately. We have a new plan with her truck!
after that thong bit all i could here in my head was the thong song
Lol
Well since you asked, if guys would help Jess standing on the side of the road looking all helpless; I think most of us would stop and help Jess if she'd just bitch-slapped a grizzly bear.
😂😂😂😂😂
Everything is mandatory now 😮🤦🏼😀😅ps soooo much better then any lap top car . How dare you How dare you . 👍🏻🇦🇺💯⛽️.
Thanks!!
Need to remove the speedo cable and grease and reinstall.
We will give that a shot! Thanks
Hey how about a crown Vic front end?
I have a complete CV front end and a 3.55 LSD rear sitting in the garage. I bought it for my international but it may have to go in the 64
so how is the project coming
Brakes are great. Unfortunately motor is no good. Rings never came around and trans shifts poorly. Plan is crown Vic front end, drivetrain swap. We have most of the parts already.
Jess is REALLY gonna want power steering in a truck. May want to consider an S10 or old F-series front chassis clip. Brackets and pump on the Y-block would likely be the biggest challenge.
Thanks for the COFFEES!! We are discussing a crown Vic front end. I already have one with a matching rear. At that point, I would swap the engine as well so maybe that's a project for the fall.
Photo's or it didn't happen!! ;-) hahaha
Heh!
You're sleeping in the dog house tonight.
And you're not getting fed either.
Cause she's locking up the refrigerator.
I can live for a while without food! That would do me some good!
What engine is that?
292 Y block
Garbage is in. Haven't you heard?
I have a driveway full of it so that's good!
Budget rebuild video pending…
Or budget LS swap? Lol
Coyote Engine Swap
We don't ball like that sir!
ok mad hatter this is just a warning before i watch the video since that's your wife's truck better make sure its right or its the couch for you hehehehehe
Things go wrong but she's forgiving!
@@madgingercustoms well that,s good to hear and keep up the good work
New video this week?
Working on it but Jess destroyed her ankle playing softball so we are late!
I'm handicapped at the moment so I'm useless! 😢
@@MadGingerJess You can always supervise.
@@brittscott I am good at supervising!
define " borderline elderly "..............
Anyone over 18 according to our children.
Na not additives wasting $$$.
Auto trans no stick all the work just enjoy the ride
you may want to have coffee eat a breakfast sandwich while putting on some makeup and talking on your cellphone all at once no gear changing GO AUTOMATIC.
For me an Edelbrock needs an Air Fuel Ratio meter to let me know which way to go with jets for best performance and mileage.
I prefer the auto as well. We swapped an AOD into our 66 because of that reason.
And how's your bra doing
It pinches in the back.
