- In this video I give you a good look at this exceptionally large, heavyweight and cast iron grill. It was also super cheap and is packed with features, especially for the price. Check out this showcase for a closer look a this awesome grill master's station!
My fiancée actually just surprised me with one today for our house when I move in and after watching this review I’m actually super excited to fire it up and grill for the both of us!
Just bought for $97, couldn't pass up the deal, ur review makes it so much better about the buy...
i prefer a review that includes the results of some cooks. Otherwise, it isn't a review, it is a virtual trip to the store to look at the thing.
Nice work looking at getting one soon. Good honest review.
Great review!
Right on time! Just ordered it! Thank you!
Awesome. Happy grilling!
@@GroovySauce say , have you ever cooked baby back ribs 😋 on it 🤔 , great review 👍
I just got one for Father’s Day I’ll try it out and see
A fine charcoal grill and also looks great 👍 so got myself one today for 200$+txs at Wallmart ! Price are out of whack on everything since covid but yet I like the grill and reviews are really good so why not and see for myself
Keep those steaks coming and grill on !
🥩🇨🇦😎
FYI, this does pretty great offset smoking! I did cheese last winter and it was amazing.
I use my expert grill more then my kitchen stove. This is my go to grill unless I’m having a larger gathering.
I've been doing some grilling on it lately too. It is a nice machine too. Love the lowering mechanism. I think I might test off set grilling on this little bad boy too!
Man I wish mine came already built I was at home struggling 3 hours puttin this together
Yeah, I lucked out. I still occasionally see assembled ones at my local Walmart. Lucky us!
I've had this grill for a couple years now. I like it but the charcoal tray is going. Anybody know where to get replacement parts for this thing?
Hi bud, thanks for the review! I'm fixing to buy this grill, but just don't know about the grilling area itself, it says 24' (I'm assuming it's the lenght), could you please letme know about the width size of it? Thanks!!
Just grilled on this bad boy today! The grilling surface is 22 x 16 in. I just measured it.
@@GroovySauce Thank you for the prompt feedback! That size seems to be just perfect. Happy grilling!
Nice video. Thanks. I have one of these that was passed on to me. The long silver handle used to move the grill is broken. Any idea how i might get another one? I called Walmart but they won't do anything without proof of purchase.
Expert grill does have a website that might help here. mygrillparts.com/collections/expert-grill Just googling Expert Grill replacement parts turns up a lot of websites too. Good luck! This is a good grill, I hope you get it fixed.
Ok, I dislike gas grill. My ex used to be the one cooking with it. So I bought me this grill. Loved the price and is heavy duty. I felt good about it and to work it myself. The issue I am not sure what I am doing wrong. I can't get the charcoal keeping burning. I added the liquid, the temps were going a little bit higher than 200f but that was it. Every time I opened the grill it will go down. I was not able to cook. What am I doing wrong? And how can I get it to work?
Open your bottom vents
I've owned 3 of them and loved them! The only problem is that the charcoal tray rusts out fast. I upgraded to a Dynaglo which was more pricey but better built with the same great features.
I have a cover for mine and that seems to alleviate any kind of rust. Its a nice canvass one, so if given the opportunity, I would say look for one.
@@GroovySauce, I do too but the hot coals burn the paint off of the tray holding them which leads to it rusting simply due to humidity in the air. If you don't use it much and keep it cleaned out it will likely last longer than mine did. I grill nearly every day that it doesn't rain.
Have u ever spray cooking oil? That helps it from not rusting
@@supremekingjesus425 Yep... Spraying the charcoal tray with cooking oil after each use will most definitely keep it from rusting..I spray it while it's still hot too
Scored one for my boyfriend today from Walmart for $40 today!
I love mine. It gets a lot of use too. I can't wait to try smoking on it. It should be awesome.
@@GroovySauce we love it! The cast iron grates sear the food nicely and the ability to lower and lift the charcoal is great for steaks (searing) with it lifted or lowered for low and slow like chicken!
$40? Wow, great buy!!! It’s 97 now
what is the update on the grill? I'm looking to replace my old grill.. retired now so money is tight
I love mine
@@ogdmv4751 how long have you own it? I am torn between this one and the Char-Griller Ceramic AKORN (200 dollars more, but comes highly recommended ). The acorn they say is as good as a green egg but a third of it's price
that body
My thermometer didn't seem to work. Is that a known problem. I had charcoal going, (probably not enough) but the temp gauge never got above 200.
I do use a lot of coal in mine. It never just seems cold though. I usually just raise the coal grate if mine gets cold and that fixes it. Yours might just need a new thermostat. I'm sure they got one at Lowe's, HD, Mernards or whatnot.
I put a lighter under thermometer rod eventually, and it did climb to 300, but that seemed kind of drastic. It was fairly cold last night too.
Well, the unit is quite big. Perhaps it was just not enough briquettes. I usually use quite a bit with mine. Even when I smoke though, I do get at least a small temp increase.
Mine doesn't crank up or down help ??!! I have the same grill
It might be an assembly problem. Mine came pre assembled, but there is a manual. You might want to take it apart.
@@GroovySauce I did still don't work I posted a video on my channel
Can you use as a smoker?
I use it as a smoker, however I do offset smoking. The grill is large enough to do a full rack of ribs on one side, however not much more. For one family of three though, you have enough space on the bottom. The top rack also gives a lot of space though, so if you wanted to also smoke some mac and cheese you could. The best part about using this for smoking though is that you can elevate or lower the inner tray (coal tray), making it adequate for indirect heat/smoke.
How has it held?
Held up?
It is still holding up fine. I have to admit, it hasn't seen super heavy use though, I've only used it about a couple dozen times.(I've been super busy with work) but it still is good to go at this point.
Scored mine at the dump
Where's the video of you cooking on that grill?
Sorry, I'll try to get one out here soon. Its just been hectic with work lately!
My lid won’t close all the way 😢
Price???
I got mine for like $75. SUPER cheap. Keep a lookout this spring/summer at walmart, if you got one in your area.
Lol .. you walked that home?
Yeah, I live like 2 blocks from a Walmart.
@@GroovySauce That's awesome I hope they let me buy the display also 🤣
You trying to take Wayne Bradys job on let's make a deal or what? I did watch the full video though
Can you smoke meat on this grill
Oh yeah. I've done it off-set (Smoking on one side, meat on the other) and it works pretty well. Since it has those four vents, you can make airflow move through the grill really well as well.
Whomever stained your deck needs their ass kicked for not covering up the concrete patio. I can't stand that.
