      Problem dates way back to America offering a way in with asylum claims... Back to 1891 when the Bureau of Immigration was established.
      Then you add in all the countries with bad governments, where these people are escaping from. Things ran better when they came over by ships, but once Ellis Island shut down we no longer had a centralized way to comb thru the crowds of people still coming over.
      The problem at our border is not the problem of one party or the other, not happening because of one modern day president or another.... This is the end result of the flow of people not stopping coming here and the US not replacing the processing and inspection of immigrants that Ellis Island did. There's also no end to people needing to escape because people who live in these repressed countries keep having children. That I don't understand... You live in a horrible repressed or dangerous situation... Why the heck are you putting children into that unsafe situation? Anyways, the US border is the end result of all these things.
      If you have a large and growing pool of water filling your back yard, do you blame your neighbors, do you just stand there and get angry? Do you toss in a few rolls of paper towels? Do you send buckets if water to another area in the yard? That's not solving anything. Or do you check to see where the water is coming from, and turn the water down and plug up the leaks, and set up a water management system to move the water safely away from the back yard and make sure its a manageable ongoing situation?

    Chinese social media often see people promoting a happy life in the United States, with low prices and affordable cars and houses. If you want this kind of happy life, you just need to pay the promoters, and they will take you across Mexico to the United States.
    This way is called:"走线"
    Generally, it costs from Three thousand dollars to twenty thousand dollars.

    Vote 3rd party to get out of this 2 party circus! Neither party wants to make progress and change, they only focus on self interests and profit. We are more united than the media wants us to think. Each party profits from your support. We as the people should take back our politics. RFK wants the border closed. Let’s make it happen, VOTE 3rd PARTY!

      If I thought it wouldn’t be a wasted vote, I would vote 3rd party. I want to be clear though, I don’t like Biden and I hate Trump. I think both are not competent to be President. Too much drama with Trump last time and Biden is too meek (among other things). My conundrum is real.

    • @shawnh3411
      @shawnh3411 8 месяцев назад +1

      The problem is most people are so conditioned to hate their opposing political party, that most people can only see left vs right. If everyone changed their mindset to just hate the 2 party system, we might actually see some positive change in this country. Unfortunately, i do not ever see this happening. You are right however, the 2 party circus will forever hold us back as a country.

    Would it not make sense for the Department of Homeland (DHS) to combine the Customs and Border Protection (CBP) and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) into a new "Border Guard" service branch? It could function with a similar structure as the Coast Guard (under the Department of the Army - versus the Navy - during wartime). Optimal locations for Border Guard installations (e.g., Buffalo, San Diego, El Paso, etc.) would enable federal land leases for asylum processing, thereby mitigating the burden on municipal and state governments.

      There should be some sort of separate minimum wage laws for migrants to encourage employers to hire them. This would guarantee their entrance into the labor market and would be a big win for everyone.

Let's not forget when "operation: wet back" was enforced it was because the Mexican government wanted back the citizens of Mexico that was performing cheap labor building America up in the Midwest. Another idea would be for the United States-Mexico-Canada Agreement ("NAFTA2.0") to be amended for EU-style labor mobility. Similar to the EU, workers from member countries would have the right to live and work in any other member country without needing a work visa or permit. This would promote greater labor mobility within North America, allowing workers to pursue job opportunities across borders more easily. Migration from Central and South America would begin processing in Mexico, thus mitigating the perceived burden in the US and Canada. Otherwise, NAFTA2.0 is really only benefiting multinational corporations and, through influence, tenured politicians.
