Pardon me for my inquisitive nature anyhow: How do you handle the real-life scenario where the sample frame exists but the records are unreliable eg. the Record of all prisoners may be problematic to attain. Secondly what if there is a concept such as an orphanhood, and I would like to research about orphans in high school, how would I determine a sample frame since the records may be challenging to access (plus the ethical issues involved)
You rely on the good will of the institution to give you the sample frame. That's why you need to establish a rapport with the institution or persons you are conducting research from or with. Secondly, in your assumptions of the study, you indicate the issue of sampling frame as one of the assumption you are making. Finally, you would use snowball which is a qualitative sampling design to sample the orphans. Across the whole research process, ethics must be maintained
