  • We hadn't visited Melkbosstrand in a long time, and we were excited to see it again. The first thing we noticed was how much it had expanded, yet it remained beautiful and clean. We explored the local Saturday Family Market, which was a lot of fun, and then took a drive through the Ou Skip Caravan Park, which was awesome. It was such a gorgeous day that we decided to stop at the beach, where I went for a walk. There we saw people enjoying themselves with their dogs, fishing, running, and walking. As we started feeling hungry, we searched for a place to eat and found a delicious meal. Our visit to Melkbosstrand was great fun! #DustBugs #dustbugstravel #adventuretravel #southafrica #southafricavlog #travelongravel #westerncape

Hi you two! This was a wonderful trip again. I don't have words to express my experience with you. It is just so wonderful that so much care for nature can be found in what is in reality a suburb of the big city of Cape Town. I hope to be down there later in the year. Your drone views were exceptional as usual. Glad you could do your WC tour before the storms came! Keep safe until we see again!

I must say, your addition of aerial drone footage (of late) really enhances your videos; a bird's eyeview offers a good overview of the street-level view perspective we get from your handycam. Well done!

It is so safe here. Sure someone grabbed something out of my hand a year ago but it is very safe. You can walk around ALONE without feeling scared. It has changed alot over the years. It was Super safe compared to now but its still amazing. It is very nice cuz its close to the city and has everything you need in the town. The ok foods is probably my fav place to shop at.

Gosh! How Melkbosstrand has grown since I visited it in 2000, but just as busy and vibrant a coastal village now as it was back then. Your drone footage sums it up beautifully. I await the next adventure in anticipation ........

Hi guys what a wonderful seaside town everything looks new and in pristine condition with the all present view of Table Mountain awesome nature reserve amazing beach. The market was interesting lots of food stalls. What a fantastic place for a golf course mind blowing with driving range and cut practice green. Absolutely loved the caravan park great to see no music sign as you said Curtis you go there for peace and quiet. I guess the NGK church was bound to be ultra modern. Melkbos beach had everything going for it beautiful property's restaurants and bustling with people enjoying it .plenty of mussel shells .lovely spot for breakfast. Safety drill right next to you only on dustbugs. Loved the old ford bakkie. The drone footage shows the beauty of the area .thanks for taking me along cheerio till the next one

Yes...Melkbos has expanded quite a lot since the old days when we use to have a family braai at the beach in Melkbos...but you are not allowed any more. And the very enjoyable evenings at Melkbosskerm. Quite a few memorable weekends was spent as the Ou Skip too....and even some fishing at Melkbos....yes a very nice place...would have loved to have a house there. Looking forward to the next travel...

I had a friend who shared a house with a guy from Walfish Bay who owned the house in Melkbosstrand back in the 1980's. He had a bust of Hitler in the house. Say no more, as they say. That guy finished up back in Walfish Bay, the ex-friend is now in the US. Melkbos was tiny back in the 1980's, from memory. Nice to see it has progressed. That beach is awesome..

That road M19 has become a major access route from the West Coast to the northern suburbs (Bellville & esp Durbanville). With so much development around the Western Seaboard, many people commute to the northern suburbs these days.

Thank-you for this series of the towns and villages of the Western Cape, and also Thank-you to Ricky's Drift (described as one of the most beautiful places on earth..) for sponsoring the petrol to make all of these episodes possible. You visited my favorite place and showcased a village that has peeked my interest. By the way the Market that you visited in Melkbos looked fantastic, and I am certain that this video will bring them more customers. Some really great looking products there. Ouskip's campsite under the Palm Tree 🌴, looks really inviting..Melkbos looked extra special through your lense😊..

    • @DustBugsTravel

I have no idea. We travel and make videos for fun and not with a view to relocate. If you or anyone else is interested in Melkbosstrand as an option to settle, each person should do their own research and visit the town themselves to get a feel for the place. 🚙😁
