What's the difference between a down loop, a heli loop, and a contra loop?

A contra loop is essentially a down loop, but the key to a "Real Contra" is pulling the trigger on the loop near the apex of your jump and allowing the kite to loop low so that it is at the same height as you are, like a mega loop. A down loop can be done later in the jump, on the descent before landing, and the kite will remain higher in the sky. A heli loop can be done either forward or backwards, but the kite should loop high over your head, like a helicopter. Hopefully this helps clarify!

@@ewatersports Is it correct that a down loop is more like an unfinished (no 360°) backwards heli loop?

@@Philip-xb7ko A down loop could be essentially a 1/2 loop if you land riding the opposite direction, or it could be a full loop to continue riding in the same direction. Either way, the down loop is initiated by pulling with your forward hand. A heli loop could be initiated in either direction, but the key is keeping the kite high over your head throughout the loop. This can be achieved by sending your kite to one side, then looping the other way, which will create a circular path above you. We have a video about heli loops, check it out by searching "Heli Loops." Hopefully this helped!

Everytime we set up for it. The wind dies. We have been just as eager.
