- Dislocation of a hip replacement is a horrible complication. It's painful, and really undermines your confidence. Hip surgeons like me hate it when one of our patients has a dislocation, but fortunately it doesn't. happen very often. In this video I will tell you about how hip surgeons manage dislocations, and more importantly, how you can help to reduce the risk of it happening to you.

Loved Peter Falk in Columbo, Lee. ‘Just one more thing….’ Good to hear you are well on the way to recovering from a big year of surgery for you. I hope that you and your family have a very happy and healthy Christmas. 🎅
Thanks for this. As always it comes back to the individual patient, a principle that we're rapidly losing in the NHS.
Sad but true Dev. Thanks for your comment.
We love u Jeremy.
Sir, I want to know, what is the percentage risk of dislocation occurring? And does smoking have a higher risk of complications?
In my practice it’s about 0.5%. Smoking increases the risks of having wound healing problems, heart attacks and strokes.
@@Lathamhipsurgery Thank you sir for the explanation
