I absolutely LOVE this anime. Also awesome video. As an anime only that doesnt plan on reading ahead but might read the things covered in the anime at some point this video provided me with some interesting information without LN/Manga spoilers. I wasnt aware that the LN/Manga time skips along with the anime and that the game covers the periods where time was skipped, thanks.
So the anime allows you to experience the story in a way the others cant. The manga hyperfocuses on the comedic side. The LN adds a lot of detailing from the others and the game adds contents that was skipped over. So rather than being the exact same thing repeatwd, tgey all have clear value regardless of where you started and serve to expand upon that initial experience.
For the Intro, I have to point out that, what you hate is not the Isekai, it's the modus operandi of "The Trend". At the time of their height, you could've said the same for the "Battle Shonnen", "Harem", "Magic Highschool", "Zombies", "Battle Royal", etc ...
Just as Gigguk mentioned, those 3 isekai animes are high Michelin star restaurants and Eminence in shadow is just MCDonald. You know it's bad but at the same time it's good that it can be addicting.
Actually generic isekai protag has this goal of going back to earth which he eventually drops thanks to the efforts of his harem and friends he made along the way, or taking revenge on god who dropped him or classmates who were asses.
Don't get you point as in the first few moments to diss some iseekai for weirdly trasport the mc to another world and have OP power's and in the next instant you started to suck on the same things on Eminence in shadow. It doesn't make any sense.
I'm dissing shows in which the main character has no goal in his life. In The Eminence in Shadow main character wanted something and he achieves it by traveling to another world. But other anime just makes MC travel to another world for no good reason and no major character development happens.
@@SeriesZap travels to another world for no good reason? Most of them just died or get trasported unknowingly to them. Why they have to have a goal as they don't even know they are going to another world.
Mmm, good points. What I must say is - Eminence have different execution of this and that. Have different meaning and goals behind events, than many many many copy paste Isekais and many of good ones. Also Eminence have some cause-effect or different causes for its scenes. While they may not be new, combination and use of them is quite refreshing. So, in conclusion - nothing THAT new, but makes it look and feel different.
Okay your intro is wrong. First off that Handyman one you showed he wants to be useful and have a life that's meaningful and he's NOT even able to fight. second you were talking about the isekai becoming the strongest without reason or goal and then showed Arifureta: From Commonplace to World's Strongest he got strong to survive. He has to "wander around the globe" to visit the dungeons the Maveric's built to gain new powers with the end goal of returning home. I understand your feelings towards the fact a lot of these are so similar in those regards but the fact you showed one that's nothing like you just describe isn't doing it, or your argument, justice.
Very good video, but damn, your presentation was too slow and monotone, no need to pretend to be a hypebeast or anything but little more energy would go a long way. I've been watching multiple youtube videos about Eminence, but it's a shame that in almost every single one they cover the main shtick and that the serious story is supposed to be a kinda joke, and what Cid is about, but never actualy delve into the story arcs or side character stories.

That's an amazing review with great analysis not of anime itself but of the whole series and its adaptations
Bro you are an absolute legend thank you this video. I didn't know that eminence in shadow game/Side manga exists.

Thank you for your honest criticism. I will try to make the voice-over more dramatic and emotional in the next video.
