I loved this mission... i always wanted a perfect beginning had to rush repairing all ships all over and make a defense and mine resources!
I love the later missions.
10:21 Behold, the Borg version of the colony ship.
Interestingly, the pyramid shape was originally going to be seen in Voyager as an in-joke based on the network (the pyramid would have joined the Borg Cube and Borg Sphere as a reference to UPN’s logo that had a square, a circle, and a triangle).
That fell through (maybe it was too on-the-nose) and we got the Borg Diamond instead.
No way! That's so funny! I'd laugh if it had the logo on as well. The Borg Diamond is an impressive looking ship, looks very imposing. Thanks for sharing 🖖
9:49 Whatever alert conditions your shipyard is set to will be the starting alert conditions of any ships that shipyard builds. So keeping it to red alert is usually still a good idea for all of your non-Steamrunner ships; you just have to remember to switch your Steamrunners to safe mode.
I did not know this. Another interesting feature. They certainly looked at Armada 1 and thought, how can we improve this 🖖
You actually don’t want to just Yellow Alert for any of your ships. It’s best you put your ships on Red Alert for when an enemy goes by and you’re not monitoring that location they will attack it. Green Alert they’ll get themselves destroyed and then you’ve wasted building those ships in the first place. If you want Green Alert you’d rather use Yellow Alert instead for then if a ship is attacked they will attack the attacker. The same goes with Starbases. Plus I’ve noticed you’re never using the Recrew Button on Stations. Once they’re built many stations aren’t at their full crew potential and thus they take longer to repair. Whenever you have the Recrew Button available for any and all stations you want to immediately use it for it makes the stations more effective at full crew levels. Plus building a Starbase near colonizable planets makes your crew pool build up faster.

Plus you don’t need to use the Iwo Jima-class starships to complete this mission! You can use regular ships and their transporters to do it as well. All the Iwo Jima-class starships have is a special button that initiates an Attack and after the targeted ship or station has its shields lowered it transports over Federation Marines (MACOS in a way). You can get this same outcome by just using ship or station transporters once an enemy target’s shields have gone down.
Hell yeah. Armada 2 for the win!
😨Gosh Admiral. that was a fast crazy mission.. the Borgies lol show out of nowhere like they are famous for lol. at one point, bottom right corner saw an Akira on Fire , I yield NOO ! lol.. 🤔 This was an interesting and you did good. gosh. I was looking all over and got lost lol.. It is a real strategy game .. love the mission as always Admiral!!!😊🖖
The Akira-class Gunship Mod for Armada II is a better Akira-class. The ones in the stock game like the Defiant-class are more glass cannons. Without their Chain Reaction Pulsar they aren’t really good.
@stevelapierre4776 Ah, the poor Akira. The one thing I like about Armada 2 is you can build up a giant fleet of ships in no time! Thanks for watching buddy 🖖
@jetnova16 I need to check that mod out 🖖
@@RetroBadgerGaming Yes I was gonna mention, very fast compared to Armada 1, wow.. ! You are welcome buddy, thanks for saying that, so much going on, not slept in weeks.. 1-2 hours max... sorry just saying..🖖
@@stevelapierre4776 that’s rough buddy! Sleep is important. Hope you feel better soon 🖖
You should get used to the keybinds for the more important functions. T for transport, R for repair, learn how to select some special weapons from the keyboard, etc. Helps you respond faster in fast paced situations rather than navigating menus with the mouse.
Can we get some USS Zeus action in an upcoming video? Intergalactic Supercarrier sounds fun.
set all construction ships to triple red alert and all buildings they build will have that state of readiness!
Each of the 3 readiness have different things they do... like one uses special weapons as much as possible at red alert and other is attacks enemies automatically and i forgot the 3rd one....
One is how aggressive your ships attack enemies (always, only in response to attack, or only when you order it), one is how liberal they use their special weapons, and the third is their movement autonomy (pursue enemies to the ends of the map, chase to a certain distance then turn back, or don’t move unless ordered to).
10:38 Reminder that latinum is a resource and you can mine it from these nebulae.
Forgot about the Nebula mining. It's such a weird feature, but a cool one at the same time 🖖
0:49 Are Federation Marines supposed to be separate from Starfleet? (Given that they're not called Starfleet Marines.)
That makes a lot of sense. The MACO's from St Enterprise were not apart of Starfleet. These marines are most likely a future version 🖖
Who is Bear and why should I bring him all of the weapons?
