Really enjoyed doing this flight with my friend who has done this many times. His help and advice was really great. Made the flight quite a bit more enjoyable for me because it was less work.

One of my favorite flights for sure. Nothing like that Hudson River run.

Thanks, Russ! Have you had a chance to do this yet? Did I miss that video?

@@1dullgeek I did. I didn't fly it, but I flew it with a friend who owns a six. It's a very early video.

I hope to make this transit myself someday. I have to have a tour guide also! Great video!

It was pretty fun, and I definitely recommend a tour guide who can manage the radios for you!

I’ve always wanted to do this flight now that I have a pilots license and a Piper Cherokee too. Another great video as always! Beautiful day for it too and talk about unbelievable views

I still ponder what it would have been like had they stuck with the blimp terminal atop the Empire State Building. Awesome video man! I miss living in NYC all the time, and can't wait to get back there and use this to help me fly the corridor one day (soon I hope!)

The airspace conflicts that would cause seem a lot!
Thank. I spent a few years working in NY and I loved it.

Question, one never plans on trouble or any issues but incase there loss if engine power or single engine quits during Hudson passage.
What Plan A, Plan B do you have in place before such a flight at this low flight level?
    A) Land in Hudson & pull a Sully?
    B) Land on nearest shoreline.
    C) Fly over skyscrapers into heavy congested areas on route to LA Guardia runways?
    D) Reboot computer & start Flight Sim over? Lol

    • @1dullgeek
      @1dullgeek  Год назад

      A. 100% A. First, water landings have an incredible survival rate. Second, trying to find an unpopulated place on land is almost certainly going to hurt bystanders. And at this point, my primary responsibility is to harm as few people as possible, even if that means me before bystanders.
B is out as I mentioned above
      C isn't feasible. I'd never make it
      D. is a distinct possibility because we're all in the matrix.

@@1dullgeek thanks 4 your response. I know there must be things talked about before flying at such low altitudes in heavily populated areas.
There's half dozen helicopter services in area. Some are paid tour rides around city, 2 are paid from airports to Manhattan. 3rd just private or paid services maybe.
      Where is your Home Airport?
