I'm curious about buying of these bikes (now on gen 6 i believe!) and i haven't seen anyone really mention if it's legal to ride on a 1000w version but limiting it when on the road/ footpaths to 250w? or is the law ONLY allowing 250w when traversing roads and such no matter what? I'm based in Perth, Western Australia :)
the police have no way of knowing at a glance that its on 1000w as long as you don't do an insane speed, I plan to use my 1000 watter purely for when I have a passenger or heavy cargo so i dont struggle going up hills. If you use it that way then you'll pretty much never get in trouble for it.
No helmet, riding at speed or just on throttle will attract attention. Its the old rule, use some common sense and be respectful around pedestrians. Have fun on the bike but do it wisely. Cheers
Hi mate, its a tough one to answer. Lets look at ideal conditions. Rider weight 75kg, riding surface flat with no wind, using pedal assist level 1. Range of 90kms. If you were to use pedal assist level 6 range would more likely be around 40kms I would suspect.
Thanks for getting to the point and providing useful factual information. I wish more RUclips videos were like this.
I appreciate that!

Hi there, we are based in NSW so best check your state laws regarding the rules. If your worried about the 1000W purchase the 250/500W. Cheers.
so if i live in melbourne can i buy the 1000 watt
What’s actually the chances of you getting pulled up for using it with the throttle/1000W motor on the roads?
