Nice old condensing unit fan! With a motor like that I'd say its a run cap that it needs. motor looks the same as the one in my 16Kw Alcair. that needed a 5mfd run.
LOL, looks exactly like and sounds exactly like the fan from the condenser unit for the AC at my house, the only difference would be that mine is running on 240 volts 60hz rather than the 50hz you're using.
I don't have one just remember them from the farm as a kid and see them for sale all the time. They are about the same size as yours and run about 5-8hp
i cant get to the back one and the front one it is under covers. its a out door fan. i only use it 2 times a year. one day i will pull it down and get new bearings.
That appears like it was from an air conditioner one of those up right ones?ihave never Heard a😮 startup sound like that how many volts does it take to run it if you know?
very scary start up sound being the frequency is 50 HZ here in the states the voltages and frequency is different with electrical power here as its mainly 60 HZ or cycles per second. and the motor type is a PSC permanent Split Capacitor type motor meaning you need a run capacitor my guess these condenser fans use a 5MFD cap im sure where u live u need a higher peak voltage run cap like a 440 Volt or thereabouts. as in the US with 60 Hz the motors tend to run a bit faster.
2 requests 1. Can You Please Make a video of that barrel fan? 2. A video of what happens if you try to Power up that big fan with out giving it a little spin Please? Thanks, SE6794.
14 years later I still come to this video
Thanks for the upload and never delete this gem❤
What an amazing start up sound on this VERY BIG FAN. I've watched it multiple times simply because I love the start up sound. Great fan for sure
The start up sounds like a steel drum.
1:07 no words.. awesome.
Usually the startup sound is just a standard 60 HZ buzz but that fan has a beautiful start
That sound is like a cross between a steel drum and a organ with rotary speaker. What a cool sound
I find it so cool how this fan sounds like an organ when it starts up!😎😎😎😎😂😂😂😂
Hearing that startup sound really freaks me out at night :3
Me to! XD
hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha
That was a epic start-up! LOVE THAT SOUND!
that startup tho
Very nice sound
Nice old condensing unit fan!

Love the sound when you start it.. it sounds like a musical steel drum !!
Love the sound of these old condenser fans. I used to maintain trane chillers that had eight of these fans on each.
yeah, sorta like an old American updraft unit.
I saw a similar one on a Lennox heatpump a while back.
That sound was from the vibration reverberating off of the umbrella pole it was leaning on.
Startup sounds like an Eb over Ab wavering like a Hammond B3 thru a Leslie.
Amazing start up sound. Just like a steel drum
It has a pretty scary start up sound! cool fan though.
El

wow thats a nice one lots of use's for that baby
love start up noise
I used that as a UFO sound effect
I do to
Agreed
crazy sound coming off of those fan blades!
That sounded awesome! Totally unexpected! Really a beautiful sound.
holy crap that fans sounds freaky but cool starting up. i love that creepy yet cool sound
I love that sound of the start up🪭
That music it makes when you start it......its beautiful. O_O
I don't have one just remember them from the farm as a kid and see them for sale all the time. They are about the same size as yours and run about 5-8hp
Sweet Fancy Moses, that startup sound!
holy crap that really sings when it starts up!
i cant get to the back one and the front one it is under covers. its a out door fan. i only use it 2 times a year. one day i will pull it down and get new bearings.
That fan startup is almost musical.
It looks like it's from a heat pump? Or a condenser, or an AC?
Wow, listen to the noise it makes when it starts up!!
one thay make now in day are metal cage top ones then the ones housed around with the grill on top
I'm a very big fan...of that start up sound! xD
That appears like it was from an air conditioner one of those up right ones?ihave never Heard a😮 startup sound like that how many volts does it take to run it if you know?
What did you use to power it up, car battery or generator. Im intrested to know, Im trying to get me a trade in Air Conditioning and Electronics.
So where’s you get the panel fan from???
haha i like the nios it made when you turn that on. it was almost musical.
You could power a car with that type of fan! Maybe you should try that with one of your cars with a dead engine!
That fan must be pretty nice for when you have to work outside.
Engine sounds cool
@uxwbill yer its quite nice.
lol. do you have one? if yes could you do a vid of it. at work i use big fans. 2000mm wide with 30Kw motor. thats big.
some wind blow into It and slowed it down. they are sealed bearings.

Startup sounds like it is from a horror movie
cool. you should get one to play with.
The startup is like a steel drum
are you going to make a vid on that barrel fan?
lol not sure if its portable but it would be good to have on a garage on a hot day.

What Brand Is That Fan?
The startup sound sounds like a choir.
sounds like a choir starting up
lol. it sounds nice.
Sounds like a piano when it starts up
1:07
The start up is caused by the vibrations of the motor touching the pole.
Did you say fan for a condenser ?
Hey v8 jagnut do you still have the big fan
interesting start up sound
i like it to.
@kidwithcoolroom1 condensing unit.
someone try making the startup sound on a steel drum.
yer. its nice.
its out of a condensing unit. i could use it as a window fan but it will blow the house down.lol
was that a lemon tree in your garden
What would happen if you didn't spin it before plugging it in?
+UltimateSmashingFun it would hum and possibly burn out the motor
+UltimateSmashingFun It would sit there and spin very slowly just buzzing. there's no Capacitor
fan sounds like take off start up
lol its loud as hell
Starts up like a steel drum to
you could make a big snow blower with it.lmao.
because the blade is so big it amplifies the motor sound
that what i was thinking it came off from and old commercal a/c condensing unit
cool. lets try one.
I'm your very big fan 😂
Once its running at full speed, it sounds like it has an air conditioning compressor.
yer. its a hell of a lot more power-full.lol
Perfect cooling for overclocked Pentium 4.
yep. no start cap ATM
same hear.
@aimpointcx4444 yep
your its big. i dont have that fan now. i have others with motors in them.
Startup sounds like an organ
@HACKER71000 240vac 50hz
It still alive?
lamo. it think i would need at leas 2 of them.
yer it takes the edge off..lol.
Did you this big burger or the f bomb
its about 45Kg.
@aimpointcx4444 the air condition where my dad works has 6 from these on the top of it :D
1:04 sounds like music
NOSTALGIA
sounds like a lawnmower
That sound at 1:07
120v?
looks like 240 volt and 50 hz of 50 cycles as the frequency is much different in other countries than North America which is 60 hz or 60 cycles
YA IT DID HAHAHA with tremelo!!!
yep a very big one.lol
