    Surprised by this video as the RS2 is such a simple fit. It is important as always to read the instructions before fitting, they clearly explain which part goes where and will ultimately save you a lot of time. Perhaps you are right in that pictures would be better and help explain fitting rather than text.

    • @DamTheDane
      @DamTheDane  3 года назад

      You are completely right that the instructions tell what to do with the pipe work, and I started from the wrong end.
      Thats on me.
      The instructions how ever do not tell How to remove servo motor and install the healtech plug. It just tell to remove servo motor but not how to, and thats why I toke way to much apart.
      Yes you are right its an simple install if you have tried it before and I had the right clamps from the start.
      With all that said I love the exhaust and it sounds amazing 🥳
      Quality is amazing 👍🏼

    Awesome video, exhaust and bike! Definitely looking to get this exhaust if I some day upgrade my 890 duke into super duke :D. Only problem is that since UK is not part of EU anymore its pricy of ordering anything there... So probably need to look into if I can order via Sweden France or something like that. Other option is the akra exhaust+akra map which is possible to get from Finnish KTM dealer and get box for enabling turning signals again.

    Great job on the video, sorry to hear of the drama’s you had with AR. I waited 16 weeks for my EU homologated 150mm slipon only for my 2020 SDR, they also promised me a T shirt for waiting so long. When it finally arrived it came with a seperate DB killer which was unusable with this slip on and no T shirt, I contacted them and haven’t heard back, that’s over 2 months now. I’ve given up, love the look and sound of my exhaust but will probably never buy again from AR.

    Great looking systems, but the high one looks simply amazing. A ECU flash/remap is always the way to go with any exhaust change though. Those flames may look cool, but are not meant to be there ! That's an expensive bike, especially in Denmark to go wrong !

    • @DamTheDane
      @DamTheDane  3 года назад

      My previous bike did shot flames too.
      MT09 with airfilter mod, full akra system and mapped on Dyno.
      it is true that it would be a good idea to get this bike mapped as well and I would do that if I had that option. But here in Denmark we don't have any people with the tools to do so, and I dont even think any body have managed to unlock the ECU yet. AR say the bike runs great on stock map, as long as its the LOW dB version, so as of right now I am going with that 😁
      + the inside of the exhaust tip is black from the rich mixture its getting, so I think its true what AR are saying 😅

    My system took almost 4 months to receive, I don’t think Covid helped but these systems are hand made. The instructions are basic but simple enough to work out. You don’t have to remove battery or fuse holder to remove servo, just drop the bottom cover of the rear end. You started from the wrong end, your meant to start from the headers 1st, bolt them up loosely and work your way back from there, I think that’s why you struggled to install?? FYI you can remove the circular mount from the old muffler on the Gilles rear sets, that bracket comes off with 2 x bolts, need to take the rear set off to access though.

    • @DamTheDane
      @DamTheDane  3 года назад +1

      Yes I know now that I didnt need to remove all that, however the instructions didnt tell have to remove or install the eliminator 😅 I just left all that in instead of just cutting it out, so people can learn from my mistakes 😅
      I did fight it a lot but mostly because the clamp gave me a hard time 😬
      Thanks I will get the circular mount removed when I get the right clamp for the exhaust 😊
      Did you get the right clamp or am I just unlucky? 😊

    Nice video. I recently got myself a 2020 sdr. Haven’t really ridden it yet since it’s winter here in Sweden as well. You don’t happen to have a video on connecting a gps to the auxiliary wiring? I’m so clumsy and careless as a mechanic and would love for someone more experienced to show me how it’s supposed to be done. I want to hook up my garmin gps but I don’t want to run the wires all the way back to the battery. I heard that the wiring is hidden somewhere at the headlight. Any chance you can do a video on how to remove the headlight and show the wiring? I’m a bit scared of doing to complicated things on the bike, since I have a history of damaging things when it gets to complicated and narrow.

    I have decided to buy the Super Duke 1290 r simply because of this video!!
    I thought you couldn't install diff headers and delete the CAT without catastrophic consequences; like bike will not start etc...thats what the dealer told me here in Austin TX...they old me the turn signals would have to be disabled if they did the Akrapovic full system, while Ducati simply asks the customer to sign a waiver...but after your video and the sound, maybe I will pull the trigger and buy the bike 🤔

    • @DamTheDane
      @DamTheDane  3 года назад

    • @DamTheDane
      @DamTheDane  3 года назад

      Ecu will always be able to do some adjustment. Yes a remap will be the best thing to do of course 😁
      But I have 1 of the only 2 registret 2020 SDR’s in Denmark as of right now, so tuning companys here have not yet been working on them.
      But you are right, to get the best and most out of it, it should be remapped 😁

    • @mawmaya
      @mawmaya 3 года назад +2

      @@DamTheDane ECU can make adjustments inside its parameters, those adjustments are made to consider facts like height changes, different fuel suppliers, maybe a slipon, etc but it is not made to consider a change of a full system which cats are considered as compensation of intake and exhaust flows, etc. Everyone thinks that a remap is just for more HP but no, it is to avoid mechanical damages, improve performance according to the new flow data, a perfect fueling compensation, etc. Of course all these facts translate into more hp. So buddy let me tell you that every time you start that engine, damage is happening in every rpm. Timing is always trying to fix new flows, injection becomes crazy every second, compression is not regular, inner explosions bad synchronized, etc will translate in inner premature wear and loss of power for life. Believe me, 2 years working in Sag Moto 2 development tell you.

      The proper way to do it is to get it tuned on a dyno 😁
      AR say that is system (Low Db version) doesnt need a tune, how ever that is still a good idea to do. But here in Denmark we have no tuners that can do KTM's 😓

      @@DamTheDane that is not correct in that yes you will have to modify the turn signals through a delay relay that is easily installed and it will delay the signals of a set time limit you pick say 5 seconds then work as designed. When you start the bike the ECU checks to see if any indicators are connected within milliseconds and then goes to normal run condition. I didn't buy the AR system because I thought the British seemed a bit Cheeky and pompous.
