    I like how you say “I personally agree with that outcome” as if it wasn’t your opinion. 😂

    That Gael kill in the background footage was clutch man. Overall agree with the vid, Elden Ring is the bigger and grander game, but DS3 is just a much tighter experience overall.

    I personally prefer the more linear design of DS3 over the more open world design of ER.

      I think the did the open world very well. But the linear design is just more enjoyable

    Elden ring was my first souls game and I loved it. However I just finshed DS3 yesterday and my god it was amazing. Elden ring didnt make me cry but ds3 did. I felt more of a connection to the ds3 story than elden ring. I also love the bosses way more in ds3 my favorite boss is the dancer :)

      Same for me, Elden ring got me into souls games and is a phenomenal but I think ds3 is just more enjoyable and way cooler looking

    Yeah I mean I love Elden Ring, but honestly I just don't find the exploration and combat as enjoyable as ds3. Like when you're riding around on torrent, there isn't really anything to find and look for. All the churches of marika and big POIs are marked on the map, so it doesn't feel like you're "discovering" things. Love the video and your commentary :D

      that's what i'm saying man. elden ring's open world design causes the game to have this empty feeling that creates these really boring moments of you just spamming the dash button to get to somewhere. killing enemies rewards you with absolutely nothing and is a complete waste of time, and exploration is just going in some mediocre cave every once in a while to find a useless item you don't need 90% of the time. and while the legacy dungeons are cool and are the highlights of the game, they only show up for a small amount of time in your journey. I wish all of elden ring was just linear legacy dungeons like dark souls 3 and dark souls 1. I still think elden ring is a great game with great moments though. could you imagine a game with elden ring's visuals, dark souls 1's level and world design, and dark souls 3's bosses? that would be just the perfect game. (please make dark souls 4)

      If you think poi are marked on the map you're missing so much stuff, also not all churches are marked

    • @samuhannila7207
      @samuhannila7207 Месяц назад

      @@Tibinksss I mean you can see all the catacomb and mine entrances on the map, all the legacy dungeons show clearly on the map, churches of Marika are shown as rectangular ruined buildings on the map and so on

      Absolutely bro, I think they did open world amazingly for their first attempt at it. But I think the original concept for traversing areas in souls games was just better and more enjoyable. Also I appreciate it bro thanks for the support ❤️❤️

    Its really hard for me to definitively say which game I like better. If I had to choose it would probably be DS3.
    First off I agree with you on the art direction standpoint.
    Its all personal preference, but I've always preferred the dark, apocalyptic style ds3 had. The world truly felt like it was ending, and that everything has become essentially dust.
    I especially like the Dregg heap. Its probably my favorite area, visually, in all of Souls. The world has become so messed up because of the continuous linking of the flame that the world is literally collapsing in on it's self; bringing in areas from all around the world.
    Elden Ring has some really cool places like Lyndell but I personally prefer something like ds1 Anor Londo.
    All remembrance Bosses in Elden Ring had a great consistency to them. For the most part, all ER bosses were a solid 8/10. Mohg and Godfrey are are better than most
    But DS3 had higher highs. Gael, Sister Freide, Soul of cinder, Midir, and Nameless King were all 10/10 masterpieces. And then you have 9/10, near perfect fights like Lorian and Lothric, Pontiff Sullivan, and the Demon from below and demon of hatred.
    I would say Shadow of the erdtree has 2 10/10 fights, but I won't spoil them. But I still prefer DS3's bosses for the most part.
    Like you said though, ds3 is far too linear in its level design to be as interesting as Bloodborne or DS1. But Elden Rings legacy dungeons are really no better.
    Fromsoft doesn't really care about. interesting level design anymore like they did in DS1, BB, and even DS2. It seems most of their resources have gone to the bosses, and level of detail in the art design itself.
    Even though ds3 level design is boring its still 10x more replayable than ER. Once you have explored the open world once it loses its fun.
    On repeat playthroughs its awful having to get all of the flask charges, ball bearings for smithing stones, Sacred Tears, and not to mention having to travel county size lengths to reach all the gear and weapons you want for your build. And it's expected from the player to at least go and kill some of the minor bosses and explore some side areas even on repeat playthroughs because the game expects you to level up a healthy amount before each new area.
    But overall I agree with most of your points. Great video.

    I frankly was Super underwhelmed by DS3, it's one of my lowest ranked FromSoft games. Always felt awkward to try and jam in Bloodbornes' speed into Dark Souls' frame.
    I also felt like it just didn't have enough of its own original ideas. Would have preferred no references to DS2 because it makes a lot more sense that DS2 is the final game in the timeline.
    To me Eldin Ring is better in every single way possible.

    • @Yive.
      @Yive. 22 дня назад

      it doesnt need original ideas. it's a sequel. also there are a lot of original ideas and the way the build on the lore from ds1 is so good

    • @jimmyj5703
      @jimmyj5703 8 дней назад

      Wait, so you so dislike DS3 because it jammed in "Bloodborne's speed into Dark Souls frame" yet you love Elden Ring even though it it does the EXACT same thing but worse? That's odd.

    • @travisbewley7084
      @travisbewley7084 8 дней назад

      @@jimmyj5703 worse? You have to be kidding. DS3 is a failure of balance through and through.
      What Elden Ring does is give you a wide variety of tools to handle the speed and not just rely on roll spamming. It even gives viable play styles due to magic, ranged and shields being far more balanced and with mechanics for depth.

    • @jimmyj5703
      @jimmyj5703 8 дней назад

      @@travisbewley7084 What tools does Elden Ring give you that DS3 doesn't? Summons and magic (which I'm not a fan of) also exist in DS3. And yes it was worse. Elden Ring's bosses spam their attacks endlessly with seemingly unlimited stamina. Just compare Slave Knight Gael to most Elden bosses and you'll see what I mean.
      Gael actually gives you plenty of attack opportunities as opposed to "wow look at how epic and cool these bosses look with their obnoxiously long attack animations" bosses of Elden Ring. They might've looked cool but mechanically lacked the rythm that was extremely well designed in DS3, Bloodborne and Sekiro especially.
