My God ,how I miss Lough Corrib ,Oughtered ,The Boat Inn,The Coynes of Camp St, Mary Flagherty and Ashford Castle and the village of Cong along with Cong Abbey. So many happy memorises with my family in these beautiful places,not forgetting the duck pond in Cong where I spent many happy hours over the years with my grandchildren feeding the ducks. Although I spent 3 wonderful weekends in Ashford Castle with my husband ,a dream come true ,once when the late Maureen O'Hara came to Cong to celebrate the 60th anniversary of ,'The Quiet Man',movie in 2011 when she signed her book,'Tis Herself',for me which I will always cherish. My hubby and I will always be so grateful to Niall Rochford for that memorable weekend. But my very happiest days were spent on Caniver Island on Lough Corrib fishing with my family . Caniver Island was the most beautiful spot in Ireland to me and my memories of those days are so precious and also to my hubby and children. I want to thank Gerry and Freda Molloy for their holiday home we rented and their boat and Gerry's wonderful father Tom and his dear friend Anne for the many happy evenings we spent with them . May God rest your beautiful soul Tom,you were so loved by the Bideau family,we will never forget you and the happy times we spent with you,it was such a privilege to know you.
