OMG, my mom & dad fell in love to Johnny Ace's music! I can still see them slow dancing to his music. Thanks for a GREAT memory!!!
Damn he smacked Little Richard in the face with a piece of hot fish. 😂. He was the first Suge Knight. Big Don Roper

Just woke up to the notification of your Celebrity Underrated Greatness 🙌🏽
I don't see how some christians called R&b music "devil's music". Back then they sang about love how is that devilish? Now the drill music today that's devil's music.
Not even close.
They considered anything that wasn't gospel the devils music back then. Even jazz lol.
@@deesavage3777 I've always said that the two musical genres that were resistant to change were Gospel and Jazz.
Blame white people. Those are the same people who demonized Carbon [Black] - 6 neutrons, 6 protons, 6 electrons 🤦🏿♀️
@@deesavage3777 ...Correct!!!
Bless my guy
Another great video from celebrity understated thank you ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
You are so welcome
Wow very interesting story!!!!?
Glad you think so!
I recall Paul Simon singing a song about Johnny Ace at Simon and Garfunkel's Concert in Central Park in 1981, but I had no idea who he was. I'm glad for this video.
I love his music. I remember well the day the news on the radio said that he had died. I'm now 83.

It's amazing how many greats 24:42 had stage fright. That's why Roy Orbison wore black sungalsses, so he could'nt see the crowd. Levon Helm is another.
Great video here 👍🏻👍🏻

this is one of my favorite movies
CAN YOU DO A STORY ON 2PAC SHAKUR PLEASE?
Johnny Ace may not be the biggest name ever, but he had a huge influence on artists of the 1960s and 1970s. He made his mark on popular music, and his collected works as a "Greatest Hits" album stand up against anyone's.
Elvis covering black artists isnt nothing new. Other artists are always copying black musicians.
@switchbladeserenade1732 black artist cover more black artist too.
@switchbladeserenade1732 I'm with you white people are always coping styles blacks created Europeans does the same thinglik the rolling stones & the Beatles & others.
I appreciate you. I truly wish you had a podcast. Your videos got me through the grief of losing my father.
This Christmas will be 70 years since Johnny Ace died
I thought I had never heard of Johnny Ace. I googled Pledging My Love and realized that I had been hearing Johnny Ace all along. Johnny Ace rightfully belongs in the Rhythm and Blues and the Rock and Roll Hall of fame. R.I.P. Johnny Ace.
My aunts missed the concert in Houston because my mother went into labor with me. I was born on the 26th. I heard about them missing this concert every birthday until they passed.
I have his vinyl records.
I want my daddies records.

Something is fishy surrounding his death … sounds like he was beneficial dead & people knew it… good content! #CUcrew
First ❤ one and I'm here for it 😊

@@CelebrityUnderrated👍❤️
He should have stayed in the house of the Lord,,nobody really don’t know what happened,,, he should have never been playing with a gun,,,so sad,,, and hurtful,,, 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
A story on actress Ali Humiston would be very interesting, she died last year and she appeared in that one episode of Moesha titled Bad Company.
Don Roby had to walk so Suge Knight could run…
@Riles3152 ...Irrelevant!
@@brucescott4261 😭😭🤣🤣
@@Riles3152 ...Is that the only defense you can come up with? Emojis?
This is “The Late Great Johnny Ace” that Paul Simon sings about and the song is just as jinks as such.
I loved the movie Christine❤
New Subbie; love it here 🔥🥰
You should do a story on Elvis presley rest in peace ✌ to the rocking in roll King 👑
I’ll have to look up his song
Ahhh Johnny Ace.. that wonderfully slightly off-key baritone..not in r&r hof and close to being forgotten.. deserves to be remembered for more than the stupid way he died
