Excellent documentary. I never fully understood why he was murdered until now. People will do anything for money including killing one’s friends to get it. Everyone is not your friend. God always repays evildoers for their deeds. Scott La Rock was brilliant and smart he knew the real money is owning the publishing of one’s own music. The music industry has always been foul period. This was a set up period.
Scott La Rock is a legend. LEGEND!!!! 🎖🎫🏆🥇 We are always quick to judge someone for not helping others. But we are slow to admonish others for not helping themselves.
I was @ DJ Scott LA Rock wake . I saw him in his casket up in close. & the funeral I have a picture of him being carried out by the polar bears. Seeing this documentary I'm understanding things now. I have a flyer with KRS-One performing soon after Scott larock's death. It also had other rappers performing, and I felt as a 15-year-old at the time it was too soon to be performing like nothing never happened. I am really seeing the missing piece to this puzzle. And this was no accident that's all I'm going to say.
@@otiscalhoun4344 i swear the video just stated KRS one took the jive deal which was against the original plan. Guess you missed that part. Going from living in a car to getting a money bag after your partner dies =Benefit 🤷🏾♂️
Thank you for this one. Scott is still a legend in the game despite his assassination. I can not help but to wonder what he would have accomplished had he lived though. One question I have is: A sniper? That's a military grade operation. Sad, truly a monumental loss; they took one of our best. KRS😒
I wonder about the sniper on the roof story from Ced G...if that was the case, how'd they know where to post up if Scott and crew were randomly driving around looking for these dudes? Unless the dudes were part of the setup too and they purposely hung out at the spot they were found so it could go down.
@Spenser tbh what's the chances of shooting at a car full of people and only getting one person twice in the head? Seems very out of the ordinary to "just happen" when shooting at a car...someone else at least should have been shot too ...sounds suspicious it seems a set up
Shout out to Celebrity Underrated for one of the greatest stories to never be told. He was in the game of hip hop for a short time but made a big impact. Boogie Down productions KRS One my #1 Mc to ever rock a mic. Loved this story.
One thing people don't know and that is the cats that played music outside back in the day, had the respect of the community. You could bring out thousands of dollars of gear and you did not have to worry about getting robbed. That was until around about the mid 80s.
Darrin Henson also choreographed for artists and appeared in videos such as Hi-Five, J. Lo, Jordan Knight, Britney Spears, Deborah Cox, N'Sync, and many more!!
I was in college at Tennessee State university when I heard about the death of Scott La Rock. This was so tragic. I feel bad for D-Nice . He carried that burden for a long time and KRS-1 blamed him for his death. I'm glad that KRS-1 and D-Nice have spoken to each other again. Rest in peace to Scott La Rock.
KRS blamed DNice to keep his name out of that mix while he knew what was going to happen. Why didn't he go with Scott to check on their little man? Damn, after watching this DNice is in the clear and KRS is suspect now. Smh.
Once again, u bring it man!! But, I have to say, these folks who wouldn't testify, are a bunch of COWARDS! I can't STOMACH a coward! If the love was really, truly, genuine, then the dudes that were accused of the crime, (IF they really did it) should have been made an example of! It's that simple! Folks need to learn the DIFFERENCE between snitching, & simply telling what u know....
Apparently you must not be familiar with Just Ice. A real certified street dude. If he says he spotted the alleged killer at the club and nothing more than what do you think happened? The streets handled the situation.
Back then in The Bronx and NYC people did not give information to police... That just wasn't done.... I'm not saying it was right - but it just wasn't done. Witness protection wasn't like now - if you get what I'm trying to say
Thank you for this documentary, I had always heard the story about how and why he was killed but never to this detail...and even though I had never met him I was still moved by his death and by the retelling of his story. Good job!
My hairs stood up looking at this documentary. I remember Scott jamming at Nelson park and D nice lived on Woodycrest down the block from Larry Davis on my hood. It all started in Highbridge home of the hip hop. Those days it was wicked on the west side I cried when I heard Scott left us. May he rest in peace always and forever.🙌🙏🙌🙏🙌🙏
Quick story: I was 12yrs old and saw the phone number on the Criminal Minded album cover, so I called it. A dude answers the phone and says "Boogie Down Production". I asked to speak to Scott La Rock. The person responded by asking who I was, and then said his name was Mcboo, and that Scott was killed that same day. He also said it was wild that I called that day because even though the number was on the album, people didn't normally call it. He said the fucked up thing was that I asked for Scott, and that Scott always answered that phone. So I found about it that same day. It wasn't official until the Philosophy video.... R.I.P Scott La Rock
Wow !!! This was POWERFUL !!! Growing up, I always heard various stories of how it went down. I was 13 years old in 1987 & remember this very well. This is jaw dropping. I don't even know what to think, say or even how to take this information. The reason being is because you look at heads with a certain amount of integrity & respect, and if the information recorded is true, it kinda tarnishes the respect & integrity for certain folks. Great piece, very informative & love and respect to Scott La Rock. 🙏🏿

I always wondered if KRS One was somehow affiliated with Scott's demise. Now after hearing this information, I think he at least had knowledge that Scott was going to be taken out. I just find it odd that he stayed back at McDonald's. Smh... And, did DNice create that story of a beef. How else would there be snipers on top of a building at the location where the guys were found? The whole thing was a set up...Smh.... Sad story! The industry is wicked and you can't trust your so called friends over greed!!!

This story came across my algorithm today. Thank you for breaking the story down for someone like me that isn’t familiar with the backstories of Hiphop. Dnice was still a baby practically in a man’s world. He wasn’t to blame for this tragic outcome. I pray he realizes this now that he’s older. 🫂🤎It’s a shame how some people are so greedy to not have the decency to look out for the children who are the main reasons you have prospered. I always felt in my heart that Dnice is an outstanding human being even though I’ve just became familiar with him the past few years. It’s speaks volumes to his character and integrity. I pray that his son will do well in life and prove to be an amazing man just like his father. RIP Scott LaRock 🙏🏾✨🕊️
Thank you for filling the gap. This guy is a God in HipHop. I grew up on that album . The production on that criminal minded album was authentic and so dope. RIP Scott and respect to his son, stand strong bro.
I am from the South Bronx. I would like to say thank you for doing this video. As a young teenager we always was told that Scott La Rock was killed over a female. The crazy thing is KRS One always gave me the impression that there was more to the story. Yes it was crazy back them, but there was more loyalty then what was going on now. Great video!!!!!
It' was so heartbreaking 💕I heard about him, when I was a sr graduating highschool and headed to my freshman yr of college. Many people thought he was involved in the streets, and to find out later it was behind the music and the snakes behind this industry. Just soo sad.
This is crazy....I remember hearing about Scott La Rock but never knew he died so tragically. I remember The Bridge is over as well but I was too young to understand it was a diss record.
Wow Scott La Rock was a solid guy, very intelligent and a strong selfless human being, Scott had many unknown enemies surrounding him and it’s obvious KRS One seems like he was jealous, just wished Scott La Rock could have applied more perception and discernment in the environment in which he was dwelling in, it’s very strange and tragic, a Beautiful spirit who’s demise was too soon, May Scott La Roc Rest In Peace ❤️🕊🕊🕊❤️

I've always admired that man. Scott was an original trendsetter during his timeless moments. I wouldn't put that pass KRS1 & definitely not the label. May Scott's accomplishments & legacy live on, while he SIP.

Excellent documentary. I never fully understood why he was murdered until now. People will do
anything for money including killing one’s friends to get it. Everyone is not your friend. God always repays evildoers for their deeds. Scott La Rock was brilliant and smart he knew the real money is owning the publishing of one’s own music. The music industry has always been foul period. This was a set up period.

Scott La Rock is a legend. LEGEND!!!! 🎖🎫🏆🥇
We are always quick to judge someone for not helping others. But we are slow to admonish others for not helping themselves.
I'm lookin at Darren Henson in a different light now. I got much respect for that man!
Bruh….
You told that story straight up. You made it seem like I was there.
I be seeing DJ Red Alert all the time in NYC.... just walking around. Nobody recognizes him but I knew who he was the first time I seen him
Yyyyyyeeeeeeaaaaaa
I got the feeling that he was killed for the reason that he was to smart for the business at that time.
BDP's debut album Criminal Minded will be turning 35 next year!!
Wow that long ago
Subway tokens I haven't heard that in awhile but I'm always happy to hear about these stories a real legend in his own right.
A story like this is why I'm so glad I subscribed to this channel !!! This cat keeps these powerful story's coming
This story definitely raise questions about many characters involved, KRS one primarily.. watch the money and who benefits from a person demise
KRS one did not benefit off that man’s death don’t put that out there like that
@@otiscalhoun4344 i swear the video just stated KRS one took the jive deal which was against the original plan. Guess you missed that part. Going from living in a car to getting a money bag after your partner dies =Benefit 🤷🏾♂️
D Nice is the part of the reason he is dead today.
@@supremekasir6280 if you’re claiming KRS 1 had anything to do with his death, than you have issues.

This was a great documentary bro... I appreciate the content. 🙌🏿🙌🏿💪🏿💯

Yes.
😢
@@SixTenVisuals its no sacrifice. Just regular street stuff
@Spenser tbh what's the chances of shooting at a car full of people and only getting one person twice in the head? Seems very out of the ordinary to "just happen" when shooting at a car...someone else at least should have been shot too ...sounds suspicious it seems a set up
@@jonblazeinc nah. no setup. Why was Suge Knight just grazed and Tupac was killed in that car? It happens
Shout out to Celebrity Underrated for one of the greatest stories to never be told. He was in the game of hip hop for a short time but made a big impact. Boogie Down productions KRS One my #1 Mc to ever rock a mic. Loved this story.
You got me crying over KRS not doing anything for his son. I'm looking at KRS another way... That hurts as much as Scott LA Rock death.
🤔🤔
One thing people don't know and that is the cats that played music outside back in the day, had the respect of the community. You could bring out thousands of dollars of gear and you did not have to worry about getting robbed. That was until around about the mid 80s.
Darrin Henson also choreographed for artists and appeared in videos such as Hi-Five, J. Lo, Jordan Knight, Britney Spears, Deborah Cox, N'Sync, and many more!!
And had that mail order video “Darren’s Dance Grooves.” He was Hip Hop abs before Shaun T

The people wasnt about JUSTICE. Smh and a shame
Apparently you must not be familiar with Just Ice. A real certified street dude. If he says he spotted the alleged killer at the club and nothing more than what do you think happened? The streets handled the situation.
Apparently, I do..... That's an assumption on your part....
Back then in The Bronx and NYC people did not give information to police... That just wasn't done.... I'm not saying it was right - but it just wasn't done. Witness protection wasn't like now - if you get what I'm trying to say
Exactly
Thank you for this documentary, I had always heard the story about how and why he was killed but never to this detail...and even though I had never met him I was still moved by his death and by the retelling of his story. Good job!
Such a sad story. I didn't know much about Scott. But, this video was very informative ❤
Criminal Minded was the shit! RIP Scott La Rock.
Girl you know by hip hop.
I remember hours after the word on the street was that red head Kendu was who
Quick story: I was 12yrs old and saw the phone number on the Criminal Minded album cover, so I called it.
Are you serious @KeywaySays??? Wow!!! I have a similar story about Tupac

RIP DJ Scott La Rock
The legend Scott LaRock bridges over definitely was a genius
Since this sacrifice information has been known about, I always wondered if k.r.s 1 sacrificed scott. D. nice came straight up after. Also, queen latifah and lance. Smh
You always dropping good content, nice research work too! 👍🏽
Never heard his story... Been hearing about him since the 80's but didn't know the details of him... Thank you...

Yoo I'm glad I found this channel I've always wanted to know Scotts story...my fiiiirst rap tape in the 80s was a bdp tape ironically I lived in soundview...what a time to be alive
