I'd have loved to seen Johnny's reaction to Del's impersonation of him. I figure he either hugged him or strangled him. I have to think Johnny found it hilarious.
Hey, Shane thanks for your thoughts. Yeah, Johnny found it funny for sure. Del was known as Mr. Entertainer and anytime we played the Opry a lot of the other stars would gather on the side of the stage to watch him. It was always hilarious when Del would do his version of Roy Acuff (sounded just like him). Roy would walk out on stage during this and that would crack Del up :-). Much fun over the years. Sure miss those day's. Blessings to ya Shane.
Lili Doucet No, theirs were both different, but I liked Waylon, but I like Johnny more. Some of the best live footage, and recordings, due to both of them being in it, with a couple of my other favorite heroes Willie Nelson and Kris Kristofferson called "The Highwaymen."
Not only did they both mimic Jennings and Cash quite well Charlie Garner has a namesake NFL RB of awhile back who played in college for The Tennessee Vols!☺B.W.
Thanks for your thoughts, just realize that this part of the show is Entertainment at it's finest. No one in the Del Reeves show is trying to be Johnny Cash or Waylon. I was on stage during this show, and no one got up and left the show, fun had by all, mission accomplished. Thanks
Please don't give up old country music. Love it!!!!
Del strumming the neck of the guitar , rather than over the sound hole of the guitar and walking like Johnny Cash , had me cracking up .
That’s how Johny cash would strum the guitar
You go Del!a good while back there,I was your homeboy.lived for sometime in good ole Greensboro,North Carolina y'all
Should be in the country music hall of fame

Lady's and gentleman. Mr. Waylon Jennings !
okay, as far as a comedy act it's okay but NO REPLACEMENT for Waylon and Willie! PERIOD!
Waylon is my favourite singer and this does NOT sound like Waylon at all, however, it is a nice version of Luckenbach, Texas.
My favorite singer is Johnny Cash.
Good fou you. Cash was a good friend of Waylon's
Not even a bit like Waylon's voice this guy.

+CashPresley32 Yes I loved the Highwayman... Have you listen to Waylon sing 'unchained melody'?
😂😂😂❤loved it.
Thank you kindly
Didn't know Johnny sang on That song. I thought it was Willie. They should have done "ain't no good chain gang"
Johnny didn't sing on it. It was indeed Willie and Waylon on the recording.
Bass player doesn't sound like Waylon bit he did a decent job on it. Del did a good johnny cash.
Sounds like Johnny but not Waylon. But they sang well. And, little Jimmy, no one can imitate another artist better than the artist.
Roger Leonard u
Hilarious
❤ thank you
You're welcome 😊
What year was this guys?
That is an insult to Waylon Jennings, he doesn't sound anything like him he actually just sounds bad. The other guy did John pretty good though.
Lighten up Francis

Let’s ask him about Bob Wesley 🤨
Not even close.
Good job but really sounded nothing like johnny & waylon.
doesn't sound like Waylon at all
Del sounds like Johnny but that other guy is nowhere close to Waylon
