SWORDS LIFE ON THE LINE S2 E5 SO CLOSE BUT SO FAR

Eagle Eye II rushes to dock to try (and fail) to take advantage of a higher price per pound on swordfish. Bjorn II takes a week's long vacation waiting on replacement fishing gear since her Captain failed to order enough pre-season and apparently a fishing port such as Bay Bulls has nowhere to buy such rare items as hooks and swivels. Captain Greenlaw decides to keep Crybaby Dave on as a deckhand despite his miserable attitude and constant complaining. Having missed the $4 a lb. price on swordfish, Scotti (Eagle Eye II) unloads 40k pounds at $3 a pound and goes out to seek the last piece of warm water on Georges Bank. Bjorn II remains at dock waiting for fishing gear. One would think that fishhooks wouldn't be so hard to come by in a fishing port... Captain Chomps in the piss-pot Big Eye goes south to fish in his home waters with little success and much bellyaching. F/V Frances Anne goes out fishing after a tremendous offload only to be called back to shore after only a few sets by a greedy boat owner who uses an approaching storm as an excuse to take the captain's chair for himself along with a bigger slice of the pie. Former Captain now deckhand Slick is more than a little butthurt by this betrayal.
