If you really want to lose it: this drummer had just joined the band and literally learned the entire album on the flight from US to Europe, and then started recording the next day.

It is not even a listening part but an actual live recording session that these people were part of.

you should react to the band Dirty Loops as well, they're also a musicians band that play at a high level while also being accessible to the wider audience.

Now you have to listen to “Lingus” the final track from the same album. It’s absolute fire!!! 🔥🔥🔥

If you're about guitar, i would recommend "What About Me" first ;)

Lingus and what about me are both great. But imo, shofukan, sleeper, kite and outlier are the best songs on this record.

You should watch the documentary on the making of "We Like It Here." Time well spent.

This is my first video of yours I've seen, and your channel is already in my top 5. It will only get better, I can tell. Love ya man! Keep doing what you do. Just keep being yourself! I love Snarky Puppy, do more of their stuff! Thanks for making my life better. Something about that trumpetist is he usually plays keyboard for this band, so these musicians are so multitalented. I would also recommend Crybaby by Lil Peep and If We Have Each Other by Alec Benjamin. Another band you should react to is Moon Hooch. Especially Light it Up, Acid Mountain, and ContraBass Dubstep. And yes, that's a trumpet 🤣😂. But you were wrong, thats an upright bass, not a cello. And by the way, you have a sickkk music studio/music room, whatever you wanna call it

The trumpet player you eere describing was Dizzy Gillespie. 😊

Music connects with people differently. I tend to notice when a lot of thought and emotions have been put into a tune, as apposed to something that seems forced. This is one of those ya got to appreciate!

A non-sequel, non-superhero movie? I'm gonna have a fucking heart attack. I'm sure you guys will be back to the usual crap in a few days.

oh let's fucking go dude I'm so glad you're so into this!!! "one of the coolest songs I've ever heard" is not to be taken lightly haha. this actually isn't even a "performance" of the album, this whole session is literally the studio album but they did it all live, like what you just heard is what's on spotify. and the good news is that the WHOLE ALBUM has videos like this with great audio and video. even if you and your girlfriend don't go to something like this live, you guys can at least watch all of We Like it Here in a row hahaha, its all on youtube on that same channel. Shofukan was their biggest "hit" back when i was in high school, but over time Lingus (the closer of this album) has become regarded as having one of the best keyboard solos of recent decades, if not all time. but the crazy thing to remember is that bc it's jazz, these motherfuckers are just coming up with half of this shit on the spot and it's like full-on prog odysseys lmaooo. along with Lingus, i think youd also particularly like What About Me? and Outlier (from the same album) bc they have heavy mathy elements and really cool guitar
hands down my favorite fact about this album is that the drummer Larnell Lewis was a last second replacement for the drummer they were planning on--- he had like passport issues or something (this was filmed in the Netherlands i believe) but they managed to find Larnell Lewis like two or three days before these recordings, which just makes everything he does infinitely more impressive
haha wow that got pretty long but you seemed into this enough to get the full dump lmfaoo. also heads up, Gondii (from king gizz Changes) was my #1 most played song on spotify last year, so keep an eye out for that one coming up 👀

I was just thinking during the King Gizz reactions on how a Snarky Puppy reaction would be dope! Would love the whole We Like It Here album reaction, but What About Me and Lingus are musts!!

    Great suggestion!
This band is my dad's absolute favourite. Our tastes used to only overlap with rock music. All of the other stuff he loves, like jazz and classical was never my thing. I never really tried to get into those genres becuse I thought it was just for "old people". But this band changed that. It was a gateway into broadening my horizon. And now me and my dad can enjoy much more music together!

When I saw them playing a year ago they had about 8 or 9 people on stage (and most of them switched between different instruments throughout the concert) the base player joked that it probably wasn't the best idea he's ever had to start a band with something like 30+ musicians in it since the logistics and costs are maddening sometimes. They are an amazing band to see live and I would recommend anyone who has the opportunity to see them play to do so.

Many of us have our genres we gravitate towards, but you simply cannot deny that good music is good music. And this is good music. I try to give everything a chance so I don't deny my ears or my soul experiences that make life enjoyable. You never know what you'll discover.

FROM KING GIZZ TO SNARKY PUPPY?? man i had similiar journey with you, first time hearing polygondwanaland, and then years after i discovered snarky puppy also. this album "we like it here" is very worth to check out man! this one has opened my eyes to jazz fusion. the amount of talent in this band honestly made me gave up playing music lmao.
this band is super mindblowing because ITS FUKIN LIVE RECORDING. the mixing is crazy. oh and one more fun fact from this live album is the drummer Larnell Lewis, he come up with the drum part for the whole album with only 10hr before the recording. he's one of the best drummer todate for sure.
