Core2 Duo is a legend. Throughout its long life it ran Windows XP, Vista, 7, 8, 10 and now it runs Windows 11... with some hacks of course, but still. Almost 20 years old but still rocking. If you install 4GB of RAM and a SSD, it will do the work just fine.

@@wagnermarinho4972 if that motherboard has sata3 compatibility sure. But if it's sata 2, ssd wont make any difference.
I run unofficial windows but it's not that crazy for Microsoft to ask for better CPUs. They have all sorts of newer technologies and so far I've seen that Microsoft wants to make a OS like no other. Windows 11is very customized, better with multiple monitors, uses virtualization for security, supports running encrypted system memory all sorts of cool stuff. If they want to introduce new features that take advantage of new hardware like that, they have to exclude certain CPUs that are not capable.
I installed windows 11 on my Dell inspiron 530 (Intel Core2Duo E4600 + 4GB RAM + SSD) and it is running well

Installed Windows 11:
CPU: Core 2 Duo E7500 @ 2.93ghz
GPU: Nvidia GeForce 310
RAM: 8GB DDR3
Storage: Crucial BX500 SATA SSD 240 GB (OS), WD Caviar Blue HDD 320GB
System works great, Everything is snappy, animations are smooth. Feels like windows 10, just a but faster
CPU Usage at idle: 2-3%
RAM Usage at idle: 2.2-2.4 GBs
VRAM Usage at idle: 200mbs
Overall, if anyone wants to upgrade to Windows 11, I would say go ahead with the upgrade but you should have an SSD as boot drive as hardisks would ruin the experience.
Incase if you don’t like windows 11 you can just reinstall 10.

It’s good but the only problem is the lack of drivers support on old pc ‘s like sound and gpu
You can use Driver Pack and windows 10 graphics driver. Worked well for me.
I have c2d & c2q (lga 775) and there is no problem about drivers...
Sound is working well without searching driver (using HD audio).
Internal Graphic is automatically update when connecting to the internet or just update it via device manager...
Drivers are not the problem at all for me.
The problem is, although i am using C2Q, it is still little struggle for processing the latest language program application like latest Dreamweaver for my website projects (bottleneck on processor when i saw the task manager) and memory is limited to 8GB maximum with 4 slot rams motherboard...

How did it not crash?? According to Microsoft, even when Windows 11 is idle, it takes upto 2.3 GB RAM
Well, it's running and during idle mode, it cannot take X amount of RAM unless you're having number of apps running.
For a better performance will I install windows 11 in upgrade option or in clean install I have a core 2 duo e7500 2gb of ram and I graphic card 1gb
Clean Install. But make sure to backup all of your data before proceeding.
I’m running on core 2 duo t6600 with 4 ddr2 ram and ssd Ofc no probs slightly slow but I had to disable many devices and themes and etc but works yeah ! Ms is just money hungry that’s all the reason for restrictions 😂

It works without any lag. If you need a license, you can buy it from Microsoft or can upgrade your copy of Windows.

Doesn’t matter if it’s ddr2 or 3. The amount of ram is more important than what version.
@Deepanshu Raikwar DDR2 has typicaly lower cl than DDR3 so speed don't only depends from frequency of RAM.

That's so right. Windows 7 was one of the great OS in Windows lineup. We hope Windows 11 will get better. No doubt, it has bugs but is speedy.

Yes, you can erase that while installing Windows. If you have the data lying on C partition, it will be lost during a clean install.
