i recommend the anime "monster". It's a mystery anime with not as much action, but definitely the same amount of nuance and level of writing present in vinland saga
I've been an anime fan for decades. But as I outgrew my teenage edgelord phase the animes I like have narrowed to AoT(Attack on Titan) and Vinland Saga. I've watched all the ones you listed, but they're really not on the same level as Vinland Saga which is not on the same level as AoT. Death Note is worth a watch solely for the concept, but in execution it's a bit too teen angst anime cliche for me. I like drama, but even AoT has moments that are too anime drama for me. It's still the best anime I will likely ever see, but if the top of the top cannot avoid some minor slips into anime tropes then I really doubt anything else will hold my attention. I do appreciate you not listing animes with bouncing boobies and miniskirt shots. I just turn an anime off now if a character is drawn sexually for no reason. Seduction, honey pots, or women who simply enjoy being sexy are fine, those can be good story elements. Like Lust in Full Metal Alchemist, her name is literally Lust, I would be disappointed if she didn't embody that sin. But I turned off Demon Slayer permanently when one of the super demon slayer ladies had massive cleavage on display for no reason. It wasn't a part of her personality, it didn't inform the viewer as to her character at all. Just needless titty shots.
Death note, Monster, Psycho-pass, Banana Fish, Fate zero, Black Lagoon, etc. These are the shows that you're really gonna like if you are into Vinland and not JJK
what you said in the end resonated with me so much dude. shows like vinland and aot have completely ruined the battle-shonen "genre" for me, it feels impossible to get invested in flashy fighting with little depth... if anyone has any recommendations for shows like this please lmk bc i am struggling LMAO
@@altec1400 Oh, I forgot about Claymore. That was pretty good. It doesn't have the depth of AoT or Vinland but it does what it does well and absolutely tries to make the viewer think and feel things beyond "WOW ACTION!!!!" or "Oh look, upskirt angles, WAIFU TIME!!!!"
someone else said it but 5:09 it's a japanese superstition that when you sneeze randomly it's because someone was talking about you. very common trope you'll see in anime
I really enjoy your reaction I hope you keep adding content and insights during your reactions Keep this your thing which can make you standout among other reactors
@@swagcactus3497 quite literally lmao that episode and this show has put me on a better path. i just get concerned abt whether ppl will take it as a diss to religion when it’s quite the opposite
@@deeegeeekay yeah. I am actually religious too and I don’t think any of it took away from the deeply thought about messages that were told in this show and this moment specifically too.
One Punch Man is a show for people who have watched dozens of anime and know the tropes it is poking fun at. It also isn't very deep. I loved season 1 because it was funny and new and had top notch animation without all the ridiculously unimaginative backstory slogs that JJK has. But to this man, every anime is new, so One Punch Man won't really have it's intended effect. Also it has a character who is drawn like a child and sexualized but it's OK because she's actually like super old so don't worry about it.

maybe not great for views tho tbh
@@giorgosab9986 I agree
he hasn’t even seen death note and you want him to watch monster? am i missing something?
@@deeegeeekay death note is for kids, monster is truly good
Season 2 is insane, hyped for your reaction
I loved season 2 and the season 1 finale so much I forgot about so much of the good stuff in season 1. The action is so good in Vinland saga
death note, monster, erased, parasyte the maxim. Definitely more up your alley Jon!
erased is trash because of the ending
@@basilisk069 trash is a pretty strong word i’d say. and that doesn’t invalidate the entire 12 episodes
W on parasyte
Berserk

Loving the reactions jon get ready for what’s coming 🙏
Imagine Sekiro in a Viking environment lol
We love your reactions, keep it going! :3
In anime characters sneeze when people talk about them
For a cool Viking game… well, it’s not exactly Viking, and very different in tone, but absolutely recommend Helblade.
i recommend sangatsu no lion if you're more into a seinen character forcused anime. truly an amazing series with only 2 seasons
You have to watch monster. I think you'll really like it, I feel it resonates with you a lot.
Valheim is a great viking game

@@toknowwhyuneed3593 Boss i agree with you but its one of the starter anime so how can i not recommend
First
watch monster instead of the chainsaw man
won't do good in views
nah too slow paced for a reaction
anything is better than chainsaw man
